5 Safest Classes Season 2 — Full Breakdown & Transcript

[00:01] season can always be stressful. And while some players look at tier list, I think as someone who's a limited time to play, the most important decision is how safe a class is going to be. Let's be real, most of us have lives now. We

[00:13] don't have four to 5 hours to play every single day. So, in today's video, we're reliable, [music] versatile, and fun still months down the line. And with the safest classes to main heading into

[00:26] season 2 of Midnight World of Warcraft. Starting off first, we have the Paladin. Now, Paladin has always been one of the safest long-term names in World of Warcraft history. You have three role types with invaluable utility, no matter

[00:40] the spec you're playing. You bring tools to parties and raids that directly save lives and runs. You stabilize groups, and you prevent wipes if you know what you're doing on this class. If you play selflessly on a paladin, you can

[00:53] single-handedly carry groups all on your own. You have blessing of sacrifice, blessing of protection, lay on hands, incredible offs, a battle res. You name it, the paladin has it. Now, paladin definitely isn't known for being like an

[01:07] S plus tier metapc or even, you know, incredibly strong in terms of raw power, but their main benefit is that they're very easy to play, flexible in terms of roll type, and invaluable in terms of utility, which means they're always

[01:20] defensive capabilities and higherend gameplay and Mythic Plus content. Of course, you have your infamous bubble, but I think Paladin is so solid for a safe class to main because this is a class you can main for months on end if

[01:33] you like multiple role types, whether it be tank, healer, or DPS. I think with when something goes wrong. And that ability to directly influence the raiding or mythic plus makes them just so fun and awesome to play. With that

[01:48] being said though, in terms of individual raw power, the Paladin is throughout testing right now. Protection Paladin is looking to be the meta tank this season. The damage profile is incredibly strong. Defensive changes

[02:01] have made them much more tanky. They bring incredible utility as a tank. A ton of silence and interrupts and crowd control for caster comps. Good sustain. pretty much has it right now. The red paladin, however, you bring slightly

[02:13] above average, you know, category DPS. Their damage definitely isn't the best in the game by any account, but they make up for it greatly with, you guessed it, their incredibly consistent DPS, their good utility, and their low skills

[02:25] healing, which is quite nice. Holy Paladin also hasn't been doing amazing throughout Midnight and even Midnight Season 1 so far, but they did recently helping them. And while they definitely aren't meta by all means, they can

[02:39] what you're doing on Holy Paladin with all these updates. I think the bottom Paladin is always safe because it gives you the confidence that you will be invited whether it be for mythic plus or raiding simply by how much utility you

[02:52] bring. If you love playing tank healer or DPS, it's right up there with druid in terms of flexibility. And if you want a main that rewards game knowledge, good utility, and group saving potential. Paladin is one of the most dependable

[03:05] classes you could play in the game. Moving on now, we have the shaman. Shaman is another class that checks many boxes when it comes to being safe for long-term playing. Two DPS specs being range and melee as well as a healer. So,

[03:18] you have different gameplay variety and styles if you're looking for something incredible utility with all of your totems, poison cleansing, which is huge this season. Strong crowd control, raidwide sky fury buff, as well as blood

[03:32] lust. So, when it comes to utility, they're the best of the best, making them always wanted and needed inside of groups. When it comes to grading on the PTR throughout testing, I think Shaman is in a very strong spot right now. Even

[03:44] in terms of raw power, which isn't quite often the case for Shaman, their damage is incredibly high and in much higher consistent place compared to last season where most of it was funneled all into their cooldowns. Blizzard made some

[03:57] damage profile is played outside of, you know, ascendants and all their cooldowns and things have been much smoother and consistent for them. I think whenever always worried if they're going to be, you know, solo queuing, if they're going

[04:10] to get invited or not. If you are playing a shaman, you're not going to simply with all your utility and consistent damage, blood lust, all that fun stuff. Your social value is through the roof right now. Now, for each spec

[04:23] individually, I got to say right now, all three specs are performing well, but enhancement as well as an elemental shaman. The truth of the matter is that right now. They're incredibly fun to play and if you tie that with their

[04:37] much both of these specs have it right now and they're doing very very well in either caster or melee cleave comps. Restoration shaman has seen better days. Yes, but they're definitely holding their own and they just got some really

[04:51] nice buffs the other day. So this spec is definitely on the rise. Very easy to pick up and very invaluable when it comes to mythic plus and even raiding would say the bottom line is this. Shaman is safe because it brings things

[05:04] groups will always need. Blood lust, strong crowd control, good interrupt, poison cleansing. They become very important when content becomes difficult, and that's where the value is with shaman. If you want to main a spec

[05:17] playing with others, I think shaman can absolutely be for you. Moving on, next a surprise to you if you look at the performance they had based off Midnight Season 1. But this season, they've had a ton of really solid changes. First and

[05:32] foremost, the biggest star of the show, their defensive capabilities got greatly improved, so they can actually survive endgame content at a very high level. Now, not only that, Mage just has excellent utility for groups, especially

[05:46] for caster comps. They're always needed no matter what. You can bring your arcane intellect to increase intellect for everybody. you bring time warp, excellent crowd control, spell steal, everything mandatory for a high-end

[05:58] mythic plus key, the mage will bring. If you only like to play DPS, you have do well heading into the new season as well. When it comes to grading, I think mage is in a really strong spot right now in terms of just raw damage. Their

[06:12] numbers are just very exceptional. The only problem I would say is that they're quite difficult to play and there definitely is a high skill ceiling to forgiving as some of the other specs when it comes to survivability like

[06:25] death knight or warlock, but if you know what you're doing on a mage, you're going to be an absolute problem in high-end content. This is a class where if you know what you're doing, your meta stability is going to be very, very

[06:39] solid. When it comes to grading for each spec, I think overall mage is in a good spot, but by far the best spec has to be arcane mage at the moment. This spec got a ton of really good updates and changes. The new prismatic bolt ability

[06:52] replaces their old apex and it is just phenomenal. The rotation is a lot more smooth and because they got some better defensive capabilities. Arcane is one of the best specs in the game at the moment. I think fire and frost are a bit

[07:05] behind Arcane, but they're still both very good at the moment. I just think because I think the gameplay is quite literally three to four buttons max. But this is the state that we're playing with fire mage and it is what it is. I

[07:18] would say the bottom line is this. Mage is a very high skill ceiling DPS that 2. I think the star of the show is other two specs cannot perform either. With all the defensive capabilities

[07:31] being brought up, they took Mage's biggest weakness and updated it while keeping their utility and damage profile very high, instantly shooting them up into meta contention in my opinion. Moving on now, you guys knew this one

[07:44] Now, the truth of the matter is definitely is currently looking like one of the safest and strongest classes you could possibly play heading in season 2. Both DPS specs are performing very well in testing, while Blood Death Knight

[07:57] continues to receive some improvements and is slowly moving back in the right direction. Realistically though, the highlight is the DPS options being frost and unholy. Death Knight is the tankiest class in the game. They bring valuable

[08:10] utility through death grip, AMZ, and solid control. So, even before we talk about the damage, Death Knight brings really solid value to every type of content out there. When it comes to their current performance, both Frost

[08:22] and Unholi are looking borderline like S tier right now. They received some nerfs earlier in the testing, but recent tuning has pushed both specs back into a extremely strong position. At this point, it looks like we could be heading

[08:35] into just a death knight meta because of Frost and Unholy are both capable of finding their way into competitive group comps. I think that's what makes this class so safe. You're not gambling everything on just one spec, remaining

[08:47] powerful. Even if one of them gets nerfed, the other is currently strong that's where the value lies with Death Knight at the moment. Individually, Frost and Unholy are currently the clear standouts. Both have strong season 2

[09:00] tier sets, excellent damage profiles, and enough utility that they should remain desirable even if their tuning changes slightly. So, I would say the is the third option if you ever want to tank or simply want to try an additional

[09:13] role type or flexibility. I don't think it's in the meta conversation right now. other day, but it's not going to do anything to make them uh you know, top combination gives death knight some of the best insurance in the game with all

[09:27] all doing really well right now. The bottom line is that it's very simple here. This class is doing well. Unholy has already had an excellent season 1 outing. Frost is now going to be joining it in season two as an excellent option.

[09:42] And the class brings elite survivability and very valuable utility on top of all of their damage. If you want someone that's powerful, durable, flexible, and great groups and extremely reliable for solo content like delves and Prey, Death

[09:56] you can have in season 2. Moving on, lastly, we do have the Demon Hunter. Now, if any of you remember, Devourer Demon Hunter was the top dog in season 1 of Midnight World of Warcraft when it comes to raw damage, and it was

[10:11] literally every single week throughout the season. With that being said though, Havoc and Vengeance fell behind. But heading into the new season, both of these specs got greatly buffed and things are looking great overall for

[10:24] Demon Hunter. Not only that, you also bring great utility and self- sustain as as your other passives, uh, you know, healing you up. And for solo content, this is a class that's always performed exceptionally well for things like prey

[10:37] Also, on the PTR right now, it's surprising, but with devour, people are playing the void scarred melee burst build in mythic plus, and I got to say, it's doing well at the moment. And with Havoc getting some good changes as well,

[10:50] both these DPS specs are set to perform at a high level. Not only that, Demon straightforward to play comparatively to, you know, some of the other specs in mage, warlock, or even druid. So, if you're looking for something that's

[11:03] rather straightforward and a bit on the nose, but performs well, your meta solid. And this is going to be a class that's going to be needed heading into would say talking about the grading for each spec, I think still yet again, the

[11:18] to be devour. They took some of their damage out of their void meta and put it consistent DPS and their numbers are just solid in mythic plus on the PTR Vengeance and Havoc are definitely on the rise. They got some nice buffs as of

[11:33] defensive capability for Vengeance look good. Havoc just got some great changes. playable, but the truth of the matter is say the bottom line is this, ladies and gentlemen. Because Devour is the new kid

[11:47] game. Blizzard clearly wants to keep pushing them as a major identity in this is a class that's relatively straightforward. You have a couple new melee build. Your survivability is solid. You bring good utility for caster

[12:02] heading into this season. If you want melee DPS spec, you have Havoc as well as Vengeance as a tank. So, in general, wanted to bring up an honorable mention

[12:16] show, I think, has to be Shadow Priest here. They got some absolutely incredible changes heading into this season. Their damage profile has gotten substantially better than Midnight season 1. The rotation and gameplay is

[12:29] very, very fluid, and it's by far one of the most fun specs you can play in season 2 as of right now. Now, when it comes to Discipline Priest, I would say right now. I'm not going to sit here and pretend like they're the best healer in

[12:43] the game, but they could definitely hold their own if you know what you're doing on discipline on the PTR right now. The only spec that I'm quite worried about was Holy Priest. Uh they're falling behind some of the other healers and I

[12:55] soon. That's the only reason they weren't on this list as a safe class to main. I would say overall that shadow and discipline seem to be really solid, but when it comes to holy, they are not doing too well. But yes, ladies and

[13:08] today's video on the safest classes you can main heading in Midnight Season 2. Remember, this is based off security, role, flexibility, performance on the PTR right now, as well as just a class that you can play multiple specs of that
