[00:02] thoughts video, an early thoughts video on War Dogs. I had a pretty mixed introduction to War Dogs. And the reason that is is because

[00:14] when I first played it by myself solo, I kind of played it like a Battlefield game. I spawned in. I was very far from everything and I was like, "Well, let me do." And then I jumped in the car and I drove to the waypoint, the only one I

[00:28] got killed from a direction I didn't even know enemies were coming from. >> and that happened two or three more times and it had me going, okay, clearly I'm not doing this properly. This is not the experience. So, let let me try this

[00:43] a different way. So, keep in mind this is the first time I played. I did I was other people. I didn't even have a mic on this computer. So, I opened up the Instantly, people were talking. I was

[00:56] helicopter at the base ready to go. Oh, cool. Hey, co, come on over. Didn't even know who I was. Just saw me join the squad. Ran over, jump in the helicopter. I had a good time running around with them. Kind of saw what the game could

[01:09] helicopter end up playing for like 45 minutes straight, just back and forth. talking to him through chat. Was very cool. A very cool experience. I was like, "Awesome." Then I was like, "I'm going to play with my streaming buddies,

[01:22] right? This will be great." I played with my streaming buddies and I was kind of back to a mixed bag. And the reason was is because I was playing with a bunch of streamers and I love playing with them. That's always fun. But we

[01:35] weren't really being cohesive. We weren't really working together. So even though we were talking and chatting with each other, which was fun, I still felt didn't feel like I was really utilizing the game. And then at that point, I got

[01:49] session going like, "Okay, I tried it solo. It was pretty good. Tried it with friends. It was okay. I can see there's something cool in this game, but I I haven't drilled down to what makes this game special. So, last night I actually

[02:03] got on for a a a cozy evening stream, my longest of the year, it turns out. And I said to myself, I'm going to jump into a server by myself. And I'm gonna just let my stream know where we are. and we're going to bring some people in

[02:18] and we're just going to play with the intention of let's work as a team. And that was one of the best threehour multiplayer gaming sessions I've had in a long time. A long time.

[02:35] Warogs is a sandbox game. And if you try to play it like a COD or a Battlefield, you're probably going to get pretty disappointed pretty quickly. But if you approach this less like a I'm

[02:49] going in with this specific objective and more as a I'm going in to kind of survive and make my way and make points in the tons of different ways and avenues they give me to do that. You start to you start to see the whole game

[03:04] starts becoming this completely different thing. No longer is this kind of this one dimension of let's go click on heads, right? Battlefield Cood, let Let me get that score up. Great. Numbers go up in Warogs, don't get me wrong, but

[03:19] numbers go up doing everything. Numbers go up building bases. Numbers go up fairing people in cars. Numbers go up supplying people. Numbers go up resing people. Numbers go up in just recon spotting. I mean, at one point last

[03:31] night, I was traveling with a group of snipers and we were walking up on a tower and I took out my spotter and I kid you not, it was like I was playing a single player ghost recon game. I would spot someone and I'd go target second

[03:45] floor. It would light up for me, which then all of my squad would see it light up and I would see two to three sniper shots just go to where I was firing and get me a support killed. And that happened like three times in a row in a

[03:58] period of a minute. I've never had that happen in a game. It was awesome. Like I can't tell you how cool it is to just be like, "Kill that guy. All right, he's dead. Kill that guy. Okay, he's dead.

[04:11] kill that guy. Okay, he's dead. [laughter] It was awesome. So, the short [laughter] It was awesome. So, the short of it is is that War Dogs is War Dogs has the tools to be something really special if you're the kind of player who

[04:26] wants to use those tools. If you want the game to give you a super simple objective that you can do over and over and over, you can do that. But you're going to kind of lose a lot of what makes this game special. This game is

[04:41] There's so many different things you can do in it that it's like a millsim sandbox 30 verse 30 verse 30 and it creates a whole bunch of interest interesting situations. There's totally open proxs chat. There's totally open

[04:55] open proxs chat. There's totally open squad chat. Um, so it's it's definitely an experience in that regard. But I have to say that that especially after my last session, which I think was somebody corrected me in chat almost 4 hours. Um,

[05:07] corrected me in chat almost 4 hours. Um, man, it is it is a really special game that offers experiences most importantly that almost no others do on the market right now. There are specific things you can do in Warog and specific types of

[05:21] immersive largecale military situations that remind me of Planet Side like viscerally and I have been waiting for a Planet Side game since Planet Side. So, it's a lot of fun. And I can tell you that although I don't know how much

[05:35] access because there's so many games coming out, this is a game that I want to put a lot of hours in with the community. I want to pick empty servers, load it up with with all of our guys, and just have fun for hours at a time

[05:47] because that's what we did last night. It was awesome, and I can't wait to do it again. That's my early War Dogs thoughts. See you guys later. Have a great rest of your day. Bye-bye.
