CPM (cost per mille) and RPM (revenue per thousand views) are metrics used to measure earnings per 1,000 views. Different advertisers pay different amounts, with tech companies like Apple paying higher CPMs for tech content.

[1:56]
Highest CPM Niches

High CPM niches include technology, finance, health, wealth, relationships, and travel. These niches attract advertisers willing to pay more per view.

[6:15]
Beyond Ad Revenue

[00:00] once you get 4,000 hours of watch time

[00:02] and 1,000 subscribers you can join

[00:04] What's called the YouTube Partner

[00:06] program and once you join this YouTube

[00:08] will put ads on your videos and you'll

[00:10] get paid every single time someone views

[00:12] an ad on one of your videos now at this

[00:15] point you're probably asking Matt how

[00:17] much will I get paid well I personally

[00:19] run 12 different YouTube channels and I

[00:21] run a community of 6,000 other YouTubers

[00:24] and here's what we found the answer is

[00:26] that channels make anywhere from $1 to

[00:29] $30 per th000 views so for every 100,000

[00:33] views a channel can make anywhere from

[00:36] $100 to

[00:38] $3,000 and the average Channel based off

[00:41] of my research looking into this in the

[00:43] middle of those two numbers makes

[00:46] $115.50 per th000 views that' be

[00:50] $1,550 per 100,000 views but based off

[00:54] of my personal experience running

[00:56] channels myself most channels only make

[00:59] $5 to $10 per th000 views and that would

[01:01] be $500 to $1,000 per 100,000 views but

[01:06] it's not that simple the thing is that

[01:08] different types of content can make

[01:10] different amounts of money per thousand

[01:12] views and here's how you can potentially

[01:14] make more money per thousand views so

[01:17] the way that we measure how much money a

[01:19] channel makes per thousand views is by a

[01:22] metric called CPM or cost per Millie and

[01:25] if you want to get really scientific

[01:26] with it it would be called RPM or

[01:29] Revenue per thousand views but for the

[01:31] purpose of this video I'm going to be

[01:33] using both terms interchangeably and you

[01:35] see different advertisers spend

[01:37] different amounts of money on YouTube

[01:39] for example apple is one of the biggest

[01:41] advertisers on YouTube so therefore they

[01:44] are likely going to be putting their ads

[01:46] on technology related content and that's

[01:48] why technology videos on average have a

[01:51] slightly higher CPM than most niches on

[01:54] YouTube now right here is a list of some

[01:56] of the highest CPM niches on YouTube

[01:59] feel free to screenshot this they're not

[02:01] all the same CPM but all of these in my

[02:03] experience and with communicating with

[02:05] people running thousands of different

[02:06] channels these types of content on

[02:08] average make more money per thousand

[02:10] views but you don't just want to compare

[02:12] how much money a channel can make per

[02:14] thousand views you also want to compare

[02:16] the amount of views that a channel could

[02:19] get because even though some niches are

[02:21] lower CPM or RPM they can get more views

[02:24] which in some cases would make up for

[02:26] that these can be niches like scary

[02:28] videos prank videos

[02:30] General top 10 videos and gaming videos

[02:33] depending on the game and a secret for

[02:35] making more money per thousand views is

[02:37] to make videos longer than 8 minutes and

[02:40] the reasoning for this is because if you

[02:41] make videos longer than 8 minutes you're

[02:43] then Allowed by YouTube to put multiple

[02:45] ad breaks throughout your video and this

[02:47] can increase your cpms by quite a bit

[02:50] and I recommend putting your ads every

[02:52] few minutes so as not to interrupt your

[02:54] viewer experience and then also put an

[02:56] ad at the beginning and end and the way

[02:58] that you do this is you can go to your

[02:59] YouTube channel and then click manage

[03:01] videos right here and then go to one of

[03:04] your videos that is longer than 8

[03:06] minutes for example this video right

[03:08] here and if I click it then if we go on

[03:10] to the left hand side and scroll down to

[03:12] this monetization icon we can click that

[03:15] and then click review placement right

[03:17] here make sure monetization is on and

[03:19] you place ads during the video mid roll

[03:22] ads these are the ads that are going to

[03:24] allow us to make a lot more money

[03:25] potentially per th000 views and as you

[03:28] can see on this video right here here

[03:30] I've placed ads at 2 minutes 6 minutes

[03:32] 11 minutes and 17 minutes as opposed to

[03:36] just one ad being on the video like they

[03:38] would be by default if your video is

[03:40] shorter that being said don't just make

[03:42] videos for the sake of them being long

[03:44] make sure to fill your videos with extra

[03:46] value to make sure people keep watching

[03:48] so your videos still do well within the

[03:50] algorithm and here's a list that came

[03:52] out a couple years ago about the top

[03:54] advertisers on YouTube and these include

[03:56] companies like PayPal Apple Disney Geico

[04:00] Expedia Liberty Mutual tax and what this

[04:02] tells us is that the types of content

[04:05] that these companies are going to be

[04:06] putting ads on is likely going to be

[04:08] much higher in CPM and higher than usual

[04:11] cpms are going to be on niches of

[04:13] content where people generally have

[04:15] problems that they're willing to pay to

[04:17] solve because companies will invest in

[04:19] solving those problems and the most

[04:21] prominent categories for this relate to

[04:23] health wealth relationships travel and

[04:26] technology and then also entertainment

[04:29] like movies and now here's how to

[04:30] calculate how much a channel could be

[04:32] making per month and then I'll just

[04:34] straight up reveal to you how much this

[04:36] channel is actually making per month so

[04:38] for the purpose of this example we're

[04:40] going to take a look at my channel make

[04:42] money mat that you're watching this

[04:43] video on right here if you install an

[04:45] extension called vid IQ and I'll leave a

[04:47] link down below if you're interested in

[04:49] that then you will be able to see this

[04:51] button on all YouTube channels to view

[04:53] the channel stats and if we click this

[04:55] button right here as you can see this

[04:57] channel is pulling in 1.1 million views

[05:00] per month and what we want to do is plug

[05:02] this number right here into a calculator

[05:04] and then divide it by 1,000 and the

[05:07] reason for doing that is we want to see

[05:09] how many thousand views per month that

[05:12] this channel is getting so this channel

[05:13] is getting 1,00,000 views per month so

[05:16] then from this number right here we're

[05:18] going to multiply it by what we suspect

[05:21] the CPM for this Niche to be and since

[05:23] this is in the make money online Niche

[05:25] it's going to make more money than most

[05:27] channels because it's related to finance

[05:29] and money so let's estimate the CPM to

[05:31] be $15 per th000 views so we'll take

[05:34] that number multiplied by 15 our

[05:37] estimate would be that this channel is

[05:39] making $116,000 per month now you might

[05:41] be asking Matt how much money is this

[05:43] channel actually making well I'll

[05:45] actually hop into my YouTube Studio to

[05:47] show you how much this channel is really

[05:49] making and this will help you get a

[05:51] better understanding of how much

[05:53] channels can make here so if we hop on

[05:55] over to my analytics right here as you

[05:58] can see this channel is pulling in at

[06:01] $22,000 per month so it's making a

[06:03] little bit more than our estimated CPM

[06:05] was and this is just a testament as to

[06:07] how much money that channels within

[06:09] niches similar to this can potentially

[06:11] make but with making this video I feel

[06:13] like I should let you in on a really big

[06:15] secret this channel actually makes over

[06:18] $200 per th000 views you might be saying

[06:21] Matt I don't believe you I need proof of

[06:23] this how in the world is that even

[06:25] possible well this is by selling a

[06:27] digital product with my channel doing

[06:30] sponsorships and doing affiliate

[06:32] marketing you see I sell a course called

[06:34] tube Mastery which teaches people how to

[06:36] grow and succeed with faceless YouTube

[06:38] channels and we make over $100,000 per

[06:41] month just from this channel alone

[06:43] selling tube Mastery so make sure to

[06:45] consider selling something with your

[06:46] YouTube channel if you can and the best

[06:48] niches that you can do that in are

[06:50] related to health wealth happiness

[06:52] relationships technology and travel

[06:54] let's take a look at a couple more

[06:55] YouTube channels and how much money they

[06:57] could potentially be making here's a

[06:59] channel called magnets media right here

[07:01] which does these faceless YouTube videos

[07:03] about the Back stories of different

[07:04] popular businesses and if we look at vid

[07:06] IQ they are getting 5.3 million views

[07:09] per month and just a rough estimate if

[07:10] we take 5,300,000 views per month

[07:13] multiply that number by a reasonable CPM

[07:16] we know business niches are typically a

[07:18] little bit higher than usual cpms we'll

[07:20] say 15 this channel is likely making

[07:23] more than

[07:24] $80,000 per month which is absolutely

[07:26] crazy especially given the fact they

[07:28] could be running multiple chance

[07:29] channels this channel right here world

[07:31] according to breaks produces these

[07:32] faceless videos related to travel all

[07:35] around the world and this channel pulls

[07:37] in 6.8 million views per month so if we

[07:40] take

[07:41] 6,800 multiply by reasonable CPM we'll

[07:44] say $10 per th000 views because it's

[07:46] likely going to be higher than normal

[07:47] since we saw that Expedia which is

[07:49] related to travel is one of the top

[07:51] advertisers on YouTube which would mean

[07:54] this channel is pulling in

[07:56] $68,000 per month that's more than a

[07:58] full-time income for a lot of people and

[08:01] this channel right here is called debt

[08:03] Busters they only have 20,000

[08:04] subscribers and they only pull in 60,000

[08:07] views per month yet what if I were to

[08:09] tell you that this channel right here

[08:11] makes over $10,000 per month and the

[08:13] reason I know that is because my student

[08:15] actually runs this Channel and he showed

[08:17] me how much he's making from it and the

[08:20] way he's able to make so much with so

[08:22] little views is by selling affiliate

[08:24] products you see he talks about some of

[08:26] the best AI video making software and

[08:28] tools within his videos and then he

[08:30] makes sure to put an affiliate link to

[08:32] these AI tools in the descriptions of

[08:34] his videos and boom he makes over

[08:36] $10,000 a month doing that and all three

[08:39] of these channels that I just shared

[08:41] with you are completely faceless YouTube

[08:43] channels and the other channels that I

[08:44] run that got me play buttons just like

[08:46] this for getting over a million

[08:47] subscribers are also faceless YouTube

[08:50] channels this is how I got my start with

[08:52] making money online and I think it's one

[08:54] of the best work from home businesses

[08:56] that's out there feel free to check out

[08:57] this video right here which is

[08:58] essentially a free course goes over

[09:00] exactly how to make money on YouTube

[09:02] without making videos this isn't just

[09:04] another video though this reveals the

[09:06] best niches to do this in that I

[09:08] personally would do if I was starting a

[09:09] new faceless channel from scratch it

[09:11] shows how to actually generate content

[09:13] Within These niches how to actually get

[09:16] a ton of views and make this worth it

[09:17] for you and how to monetize to the next

[09:21] publicly so you can potentially make as

[09:22] much money as possible honestly make

[09:24] sure to check it out I believe you'll

[09:26] get a ton of value see you there
