3:20[00:00] YouTube shows ads on the videos that you
[00:02] upload at the beginning sometimes in the
[00:04] middle and at the end of your videos
[00:06] once you get 4,000 hours of watch time
[00:08] and 1,000 subscribers then you can join
[00:10] What's called the YouTube Partner
[00:12] program then YouTube will pay you a cut
[00:14] of the revenue and that's what we're
[00:15] going to be talking about in this video
[00:17] how much you actually make now I
[00:19] personally run a ton of different
[00:20] YouTube channels and I did some research
[00:22] into both my own channels and other
[00:24] people who've uploaded videos talking
[00:26] about how much money they make per
[00:27] thousand views and the answer is that
[00:29] channels make between $1 and $30 per
[00:32] th000 views so the average Channel based
[00:34] on my research makes
[00:36] $115.50 per th000 views but with that
[00:38] being said most channels from my
[00:40] personal experience only get around $5
[00:42] to $10 per thousand views that you make
[00:44] now in order to make more money per
[00:46] th000 views you can do a couple things
[00:48] first of all you can create a channel
[00:49] and what's called a high RPM Niche now
[00:52] RPM is how much you actually make per
[00:54] thousand views and depending on the
[00:55] niche that you're in some advertisers
[00:57] pay more money to put ads on videos than
[01:00] others for example apple is one of the
[01:02] top advertisers on YouTube and they're
[01:04] likely going to be putting their ads on
[01:05] technology videos and Expedia is another
[01:08] one of the top advertisers and they're
[01:09] likely going to be putting their ads on
[01:10] travel videos now here's a list of some
[01:12] of the highest CPM niches so feel free
[01:14] to pause this and screenshot if you want
[01:16] they include Finance make money online
[01:18] technology Health investing travel legal
[01:22] Insurance makeup marketing real estate
[01:25] Cars movies and DIY and tutorials but
[01:28] with that being said some channels in
[01:30] lower CPM niches can get more overall
[01:32] views some examples of low RPM niches
[01:35] include pranks scary videos gaming
[01:38] videos depending on the game that you're
[01:39] playing and general top 10 videos
[01:42] another way to make more money per th000
[01:44] views is to create videos longer than 8
[01:46] minutes then you can go to your YouTube
[01:48] Studio then go to content and then go
[01:50] down here and select any of your videos
[01:52] once you're monetized go down here to
[01:54] the monetization tab and then from here
[01:57] you can add multiple different ad breaks
[01:59] if you click manage mid rolls right here
[02:01] and you can put multiple different ad
[02:03] breaks throughout your video as you can
[02:05] see in this video right here since it's
[02:06] longer than 8 minutes we have 1 2 3 four
[02:09] ad breaks instead of just one if the
[02:11] video was shorter than 8 minutes and I
[02:13] recommend spacing out your ad breaks at
[02:14] least every couple minutes so it doesn't
[02:16] interrupt the viewing experience too
[02:18] much with that being said don't just
[02:19] make videos for the sake of them being
[02:21] long so you can put multiple ad braks
[02:23] because there's a trade-off if you make
[02:24] long videos without actually providing
[02:26] value so if you make a longer video make
[02:28] sure to only make it longer by providing
[02:30] in more value to the end viewer and
[02:31] remember value can be either educational
[02:33] or entertainment value and keep in mind
[02:35] videos at every length can go viral now
[02:37] I'm going to let you in on a little
[02:39] secret and that secret is that this
[02:41] channel that you're watching right now
[02:42] makes over
[02:44] $200 per th000 views now you might be
[02:46] saying Matt how in the world is that
[02:48] possible if channels typically only
[02:49] range from $1 to $30 per th000 views and
[02:52] let me let you in on a secret this is by
[02:54] selling a digital product with my
[02:56] channel which is my YouTube course tube
[02:58] Mastery and monetization and we we
[02:59] average around $100,000 per month with
[03:02] this channel whereas ad Revenue only
[03:04] brings in like $6 to 12,000 per month
[03:06] make sure to check out my video on 12
[03:08] different digital product ideas that you
[03:09] can sell from your channel I go over a
[03:12] bunch of different digital product ideas
[03:13] that you could potentially use to make
[03:15] even more money for 1,000 views and link
[03:17] to that video will be down in the
[03:18] description below now let's break down
[03:20] how much YouTube channels could be
[03:21] earning this channel right here called
[03:23] chills uploads videos within the scary
[03:25] Niche and I'm using an extension called
[03:27] vid IQ to see how many views per month
[03:29] that they get so if I click this they're
[03:30] getting 6.5 million views per month now
[03:33] if we copy this number and open up a
[03:35] calculator I'll show you exactly how to
[03:37] do the math on this you take the number
[03:38] of views per month they're getting
[03:39] divide it by a th000 and this will show
[03:42] you how many thousands of views per
[03:43] month they're getting and then we
[03:44] multiply this by their likely RPM and in
[03:48] my opinion their RPM is probably $2 to
[03:50] $3 per th000 views so let's say $3 per
[03:53] th000 views since this is a little bit
[03:54] of a low CPM Niche this channel would be
[03:56] making about $20,000 per month and this
[03:59] channel called new money uploads videos
[04:01] in the investing Niche and related to
[04:03] finance and if we see how many views per
[04:04] month they're getting they're getting
[04:05] 1.9 million if we do that same exact
[04:08] calculation where we take this divide by
[04:09] a th000 and then multiply by their CPM
[04:12] which I would estimate to be around $ 20
[04:13] to $30 per th000 views since investing
[04:16] make money online and finance is a
[04:18] really high CPM Niche let's say $20 per
[04:20] th000 views that means this channel
[04:22] would be making
[04:24] $309,000 per month and that's just from
[04:26] ad Revenue not counting if they sold a
[04:28] digital product so as you can see this
[04:30] channel could be making more money per
[04:31] month than that first channel we looked
[04:33] at even though it's getting less views
[04:35] this channel Tech Zone uploads
[04:37] technology videos and the channel pulls
[04:39] in 46 million views per month and if we
[04:42] do the same exact calculation but this
[04:43] time putting in an RPM of say $10 per
[04:46] th000 views that means this channel
[04:48] would be making almost half a million
[04:50] dollars per month which is crazy and in
[04:52] this video I used RPM and CPM kind of
[04:54] interchangeably but RPM is how much you
[04:57] actually make per th000 views and when I
[04:59] say CPM I really mean RPM check out this
[05:02] video next to me right here to see some
[05:04] of the best niches to do YouTube in in
[05:06] my personal opinion and why they're the
[05:08] absolute best for making money on
[05:09] YouTube so if you want to make money on
[05:11] YouTube check out this video right here
[05:12] and I will see you there
