AI Summary

This video provides a step-by-step guide to starting a fitness journey, focusing on building sustainable habits rather than quick fixes. The creator shares five key steps: setting clear goals, choosing a workout routine, scheduling workouts, simplifying nutrition, and shifting mindset. The emphasis is on consistency, process over outcome, and making fitness a non-negotiable part of daily life.

[00:42]
Define Clear Goals

Write down specific goals (e.g., gym 3x/week, 10k steps) and focus on process over outcome (e.g., how clothes fit, energy levels).

[01:58]
Choose a Sustainable Workout Routine

Structure workouts with compound movements (squats, deadlifts), unilateral exercises (split squats), and isolation moves (bicep curls). Track lifts for progressive overload.

[03:03]
Make Time for Fitness

Schedule workouts like appointments, find your best time, and have a pre-workout routine to eliminate decision fatigue.

[04:40]
Simplify Nutrition

Simplify nutrition with a Sunday reset: grocery shop, meal plan, and organize kitchen. Focus on whole foods: protein (beef, chicken, eggs), carbs (rice, oats), fats (avocado, nuts).

[10:33]
Shift Mindset for Long-Term Success

Results take time; focus on daily habits and discipline. Push through days you don't feel like goingβ€”the person you want to be is on the other side of discomfort.

[00:06] ever told yourself that this is a year

[00:08] you're finally going to get into shape

[00:09] but somehow you keep falling off trust

[00:11] me I get it because I've been there

[00:13] before I made Fitness a lifestyle I

[00:14] struggled with feeling lost overwhelmed

[00:17] and feeling like I had no real Direction

[00:19] but the truth is starting your fitness

[00:20] journey is so much more than just going

[00:22] to the gym or eating healthy it's about

[00:24] building habits that actually fit into

[00:26] your life so in today's video I'm

[00:27] breaking down five gamechanging steps

[00:29] that will make your fitness journey

[00:30] stick this time this isn't about quick

[00:32] fixes or unrealistic plans this is about

[00:34] setting yourself up for long-term

[00:36] success let's get into

[00:39] it step one is to figure out exactly

[00:42] what you want you need to be clear and

[00:44] specific about your goal are you trying

[00:45] to build muscle get leaner improve

[00:47] endurance maybe it's just a feeling of

[00:48] feeling more confident in your body for

[00:50] me actually writing down my goals helped

[00:52] so much every morning I take a few

[00:54] minutes to journal reminding myself

[00:55] exactly why I'm doing this because let's

[00:57] be real motivation will fade there there

[01:00] will be days where you don't feel like

[01:01] showing up but but when you have a goal

[01:02] that's clear it's easier to stay

[01:03] consistent and your goal doesn't have to

[01:05] be extreme it could literally be you

[01:06] committing to the gym three times a week

[01:08] or drinking more water or even walking

[01:10] 10,000 steps a day and one mindset shift

[01:12] that completely changed for me was

[01:14] focusing on the process and not the

[01:16] outcome if your goal is Fat Loss don't

[01:18] obsess over the scale instead track how

[01:20] strong you feel how your energy improves

[01:21] how your clothes fit differently the

[01:23] more you focus on the small winds the

[01:25] more motivated you'll

[01:26] [Music]

[01:28] stay okay now that you have a goal let's

[01:30] talk about your workout routine because

[01:32] this is where a lot of people can go

[01:33] wrong they either do too much too fast

[01:35] or they pick a plan that doesn't align

[01:37] with what they want for example if

[01:38] you're trying to build muscle but all

[01:40] you're doing is cardio that's probably

[01:41] not going to cut it and if you're trying

[01:43] to lose fat but skipping on strength

[01:44] training you're missing out on so many

[01:46] benefits the key to choosing a plan is

[01:48] one that supports your goal two is

[01:50] actually sustainable for your schedule

[01:52] and three is something that you enjoy

[01:54] for me I keep my workout structured and

[01:55] effective by sticking to this format do

[01:58] compound movements these could be your

[01:59] heavy multi-joint lifts like squats dead

[02:01] lifts or presses I then move on into a

[02:04] unilateral exercise this can help

[02:06] correct muscle imbalances and improve

[02:08] stability think of things like single

[02:09] leg rdls split squats single arm rows I

[02:12] then finish off my workout with one to

[02:14] two isolation movements these focus on

[02:16] specific muscles like bicep curls tricep

[02:18] extensions or lateral raises this keeps

[02:20] my workout efficient balanced and goal

[02:22] driven listen if you're new to the gym

[02:24] and feeling overwhelmed just stick to

[02:25] the basics focus on mastering your form

[02:28] and compound lifts first before adding

[02:29] extra weight and lastly track your lift

[02:31] so you can focus on Progressive Overload

[02:33] at the end of the day consistency

[02:34] matters more than anything the perfect

[02:36] plan means nothing if you can't stick to

[02:38] it so pick something realistic and start

[02:40] showing up

[02:43] consistently so now that you've set your

[02:45] goal and picked out your workout routine

[02:47] now you need to fit it into your life

[02:49] because if you don't it's only a matter

[02:50] of time before you fall off and let's be

[02:52] real for a second most people don't

[02:53] struggle with motivation they struggle

[02:55] with structure how many times have you

[02:56] told yourself I'll go to the gym later

[02:58] and then later comes and suddenly you're

[03:00] too tired something comes up or you just

[03:01] don't feel like it anymore that's why I

[03:03] always say treat your workouts like an

[03:05] important meeting you wouldn't just

[03:06] randomly fit in a work meeting or a

[03:08] doctor's appointment so schedule it and

[03:09] start showing up your workouts deserve

[03:11] the same level of priority and I know

[03:13] some of you might be thinking I don't

[03:14] have time I'm too busy I'll go when I

[03:16] have more energy but here's the truth

[03:18] you don't find time you make time like I

[03:20] said before schedule it like an

[03:22] appointment literally block off time in

[03:24] your calendar and treat it as a

[03:25] non-negotiable also find your best

[03:27] workout time if you're not a morning

[03:28] person don't force yourself to train at

[03:30] 5:00 a.m. if your evenings are packed

[03:32] hit the gym earlier in the day set a

[03:33] realistic Commitment if you can only go

[03:35] 3 days a week that is totally fine just

[03:37] be consistent with those three and also

[03:39] have a plan before you get into the gym

[03:41] nothing wastes time more than walking in

[03:42] and not knowing what you're doing also

[03:44] for me having a pre-workout routine

[03:45] changed everything it eliminates

[03:47] decision-making and gets me in gym mode

[03:49] my routine usually looks like this I

[03:50] finish off work I don't scroll I don't

[03:52] have any distractions I close my laptop

[03:54] and shift Focus I change into my gym fit

[03:57] and something about putting on a cute

[03:58] outfit just makes me feel so much better

[04:00] about going into the gym the goal here

[04:01] is to make your workouts a

[04:02] non-negotiable but also sustainable

[04:04] because at the end of the day it's not

[04:06] about having the perfect plan it's about

[04:07] having a plan that you can actually

[04:08] stick to and once it becomes part of

[04:10] your routine you won't even have to

[04:11] think about it it'll just be something

[04:13] that you

[04:13] [Music]

[04:15] do okay now let's talk about nutrition

[04:18] because no matter how hard you train

[04:20] what you put into your body matters just

[04:21] as much as your workouts and listen I

[04:23] know nutrition can feel overwhelming

[04:25] there's so much information out there

[04:26] calories macros meal timing what to eat

[04:29] what not to eat eat it's really easy to

[04:30] over complicate it but here's what I've

[04:32] learned the simpler you can make it the

[04:33] easier it is to stay consistent because

[04:35] eating healthy isn't just about knowing

[04:37] what to do it's about setting yourself

[04:39] up for success I first recommend

[04:40] starting with a Sunday reset for me

[04:42] Sunday is my reset day it's when I set

[04:44] myself up for the week so I'm not

[04:45] scrambling every day trying to figure

[04:47] out what to eat I go grocery shopping I

[04:49] stock up on everything that I need for

[04:50] the week I also meal plan I don't prep

[04:52] every single meal but I make sure that I

[04:54] have staples ready and lastly I clean

[04:56] and organize because the clean kitchen

[04:58] makes it so much more easier to at home

[05:00] when I go grocery shopping I keep it

[05:01] simple I focus on Whole nutrient-dense

[05:03] Foods that fuel my body here's my go-to

[05:05] list for protein sources I go for beef

[05:08] chicken eggs Greek yogurt carbs I go for

[05:10] Rice oats fruit potatoes the fats could

[05:13] be anywhere from avocados raw cheese

[05:15] nuts and one of the best things that you

[05:17] can do is go to the store with a plan

[05:18] make a list before you go so you're not

[05:20] just throwing random stuff in your cart

[05:22] and then wondering what to eat later I

[05:23] don't over complicate meals I keep

[05:25] things super simple high in protein and

[05:27] something that I actually enjoy at the

[05:28] end of the day you you don't need a

[05:30] perfect diet you just need a system that

[05:31] works for

[05:34] you welcome to my active work closet

[05:37] this actually is one of my favorite

[05:39] Parts about my apartment I just love

[05:42] walking in here every single morning and

[05:44] just thinking to myself like what should

[05:46] I wear today there's so many options so

[05:49] in this part of the video I wanted to

[05:50] talk to you guys about investing in some

[05:52] cute active wear and I know it's not in

[05:55] everyone's budget to shop every single

[05:56] drop which I totally understand because

[05:59] before I was an athlete or before I was

[06:00] sponsored by any brand like I was very

[06:02] limited on what I was buying thought I

[06:04] would talk you guys through my favorite

[06:05] honor active pieces so that you know

[06:07] exactly what to buy I'm not the best at

[06:09] organizing this closet but this all Mak

[06:11] sense to me so down here we have the

[06:13] shorts over here we have leggings up

[06:15] here we have sports bras and on this

[06:17] wall we have all the tops and jackets

[06:19] from honor active starting off with my

[06:21] favorite product with leggings my

[06:23] favorite leggings from H interactive has

[06:25] to be effortless for sure reason why we

[06:28] all love effortless is because because a

[06:30] it's super flattering B it's comfortable

[06:33] and C it's just super moldable to your

[06:35] body like these leggings look good on

[06:37] every single person see there's a butt

[06:40] scrunch here it's super subtle it just

[06:42] snatches you in makes your glutes look

[06:44] so good and yeah these are my favorite

[06:46] leggings this is the color purple orchid

[06:49] my favorite onor active sport bra is

[06:50] changing by the minute but if I had to

[06:52] pair something with these leggings it

[06:54] would have to be this micro bralette up

[06:57] here I believe this is the unified micro

[07:01] bralette comfortable it has pretty good

[07:02] coverage and it's just really really

[07:04] flattering I quickly put these on so you

[07:06] guys can see what it looks like okay

[07:08] this is fit one like I said super

[07:10] flattering especially in the back with

[07:13] the butt scrunch just really flatters

[07:15] your glutes and the sports bra is super

[07:17] comfortable like I feel like this is

[07:19] such a cute outfit obsessed I just put

[07:21] on the matching top and I forgot how

[07:23] much I love these this is the everyday

[07:26] seamless fitted tops if I'm not wrong

[07:28] I'll leave it on the screen scen so you

[07:29] guys can see but on the days that you

[07:32] don't want to wear a sports Bron you

[07:33] just want to wear a matching top I feel

[07:35] like this is such a cute outfit okay

[07:37] just picked out outfit number two these

[07:39] are the unified wrap shorts in forest

[07:41] green I believe I love these shorts

[07:43] specifically on leg day just because it

[07:45] look super flattering they are different

[07:47] than the effortless they don't have a

[07:49] butt scrunch they just really accentuate

[07:51] your glutes still because of the Contour

[07:54] so I love these and I'm pairing it with

[07:56] this white long sleeve top that just

[07:58] released last week I don't know if it's

[08:00] still in stock so don't come for me but

[08:02] this top with the open

[08:04] back literally obsessed I haven't even

[08:07] worn it to the gym yet but I was

[08:08] planning on wearing it with those shorts

[08:10] so I want to show you guys what it looks

[08:11] like I am literally obsessed I think I

[08:13] met like this more than outfit number

[08:15] one but I feel like the shorts just look

[08:17] super flattering on I really love how

[08:20] it's wrapped and it just you know shows

[08:22] your curves and on top of it this long

[08:25] sleeve is so comfortable you don't have

[08:27] to wear it with any sortz brought it has

[08:29] padding inside and my favorite part

[08:31] about it is obviously the open

[08:34] back and yeah I just feel like this is

[08:37] the cutest leg day fit okay last outfit

[08:39] to give you some inso but this is soft

[08:42] motion I haven't showed you guys this

[08:43] yet this is one of my favorite

[08:45] collections from enactive I know that I

[08:47] keep saying favorite but genuinely mean

[08:49] it with this one I'd say for the gym you

[08:52] definitely can wear it it is sweat

[08:54] wicking but I love this more for

[08:56] lifestyle and everyday so to run errands

[08:58] or maybe if you're going going to a

[08:59] pilates class like the best workout

[09:02] outfit ever it's so cute and it's also

[09:04] very minimal branding so it doesn't look

[09:06] super flashy I just love it so I'm

[09:09] wearing their sports bra and then these

[09:11] are their straight leg pants which you

[09:13] guys can't see I'll show you guys in the

[09:14] other room and they also have these

[09:16] jackets to match and I just had to show

[09:18] you guys because it literally looks

[09:20] stunning like are you guys seeing this

[09:24] outfit I'm literally obsessed so

[09:28] fluttering looks so expensive and I just

[09:31] feel so confident so this is what the

[09:33] straight leg looks like I literally love

[09:35] how loose they are at the knee they're

[09:37] just so flattering I'm literally

[09:39] obsessed yeah those are some of my

[09:41] favorite pieces from honor active and

[09:43] like I said before I know that it's not

[09:44] in everyone's budget to splurge on so

[09:47] much active wear like totally understand

[09:49] that when I first started my fitness

[09:51] journey I think I had one good pair of

[09:54] leggings and one cute sports bra that I

[09:56] literally wore to the ground like

[09:59] literally really re-washing it and

[10:00] wearing it probably every other day like

[10:03] that's how good that outfit made me feel

[10:06] just made me want to wear it every

[10:07] single time I went to the gym so yeah

[10:08] wanted to mention that I do have a

[10:10] discount code with honor active it's

[10:11] code Brenda and my support link is in my

[10:13] bio if you want to shop I do like to

[10:15] host monthly giveaways to those who use

[10:17] my support link just because I know how

[10:20] good it feels to wear a c confident

[10:22] outfit in the gym so I just want to give

[10:24] back as much as I can okay so now that

[10:25] we just covered the exact ways on how to

[10:27] get started in your fitness journey I

[10:29] want to end this video off with a little

[10:30] motivation and shifting your mindset so

[10:33] first off I want you to engrave this

[10:34] into your head that the results that you

[10:36] want to see aren't going to happen

[10:37] overnight you know what that is okay

[10:39] because the person that you're going to

[10:40] become throughout this journey is going

[10:42] to be worth it you're going to find

[10:43] yourself you're going to feel so much

[10:44] more confident and you're going to be so

[10:46] proud of everything that you've achieved

[10:47] and I also want you to know that the way

[10:49] that you're going to see results is how

[10:50] you show up every single day so I really

[10:52] want you to be clear on your habits and

[10:54] stick to them every single day so really

[10:56] get good at prioritizing your daily

[10:57] habits and making the gym non-negotiable

[11:00] there's of course going to be days that

[11:01] you don't feel like going to the gym or

[11:02] you don't feel like showing up at all

[11:04] but in those moments you're actually

[11:06] going to push through and you're going

[11:08] to feel so much better about yourself

[11:09] you're going to build discipline you're

[11:10] going to feel good because the person

[11:11] that you want to be is on the opposite

[11:13] side of everything that you're putting

[11:15] off in those moments that you really

[11:16] push yourself and don't skip the gym you

[11:18] actually build more character and you

[11:19] build discipline so I really want you to

[11:21] remind yourself of your why and push

[11:23] through on the days that maybe you're

[11:24] doubting yourself and lastly I want to

[11:26] say don't wait for the perfect time to

[11:28] start because I promise you you will be

[11:29] waiting forever the only time to start

[11:32] is now so now that you saw this video

[11:34] you know exactly what you need to do and

[11:36] to help out I do have my workouts listed

[11:38] I post a lot of my content my workout

[11:39] routines on socials I'll leave them over

[11:41] here for you to see I just want you guys

[11:43] to know that you really can do this and

[11:45] I'm going to be here supporting you

[11:46] every step of the way I'm excited to see

[11:48] you get to your goals this year
