This video provides a comprehensive update on World of Warcraft's patch 12.1, highlighting significant quality-of-life improvements, new content, and community feedback. The creator discusses changes to professions, UI enhancements, raid testing, and the current in-game events like Turbulent Timeways and the July Trading Post.
Patch 12.1 introduces a one-time profession knowledge reset, allowing players to reallocate their profession points if they are unhappy with their previous choices.
The crafting cost of midnight profession decor is being reduced, specifically the lumber cost, making it less time-consuming to farm materials.
A new UI option will display map coordinates natively, eliminating the need for add-ons. This feature was not found on the PTR yet, so its implementation is still to be confirmed.
Players will be able to enable auto-loot for all characters and future characters, saving time and reducing the need to manually enable it per character.
A back button is being added to the achievement interface, a feature that previously required an add-on, improving navigation.
Heroic raid bosses were tested on the PTR, with encounters featuring unique mechanics like matching colored balls with other players, adding variety beyond standard interrupt mechanics.
The Turbulent Timeways event has started with Dragonflight Timewalking, offering the Spawn of Vyr'onax mount for completing timewalking over four or five weeks.
The vendor offers new items including the Liquid Hot Magma Slug mount, a Bakar mount, and transmog sets like the keyblades and a special set for 4,000 timewarped badges.
The July Trading Post features blue items and rocket-themed cosmetics, including weapon mogs that can be used as melee weapons.
Hotfixes to Aegtal and Val include more frequent rare spawns and Dark particles dropping, improving the experience, though the creator notes these changes may be too late for some players.
The heroic mode of the invasion zones was considered overtuned, especially ambushes, leading to frustration despite the cool concept.
The creator is timewalking one dungeon on all alts to earn bonus badges, aiming to collect mounts and the Druid of the Flame set.
Patch 12.1 brings welcome quality-of-life improvements and new content, but the creator expresses mixed feelings about the invasion zones' difficulty and the timing of fixes. Overall, the update aims to enhance player convenience and provide engaging activities.

06:03[00:02] which makes it time to sit down and catch up on what's been going on in wild that there's going to be some pretty decent quality of life changes coming to wild in patch 12.1. They did a little post about it.
[00:15] Particular standout mentions for me, things we're getting in 12.1. First is a one-time profession knowledge reset. So, if you are personally unhappy with how profession points so far, you are going to get a one-time do-over. If you had
[00:32] perhaps you didn't know what to do with them, this would be a great opportunity them somewhere else and take another stab at it. Speaking of professions, they are also in 12.1 reducing the crafting cost of midnight profession
[00:48] crafted decor. So, I checked a couple of examples of recipes um from live and here and then going to here, and it seems that what they mean by that is specifically the lumber cost is being brought down substantially. So, if you
[01:02] perhaps wanted copies of some of these things, you'll still have to pay just as lumber specifically you won't have to spend as much time farming. And then there are more quality of life changes that are things that I never
[01:15] actually thought wild was ever going to add to the base game. Some historic stuff here. First of all, they are adding an option to show the map coordinates in your UI. I didn't find this in PTR. I'm not sure if it's in
[01:28] yet, so I'd love to test it out and see if it kind of matches up to coordinate you see your cursor coordinate over a map because that's a big one for me. Having built-in map coordinates without needing an add-on is like I'm both
[01:42] this point and also kind of shocked that they're adding it for some reason. Didn't think I'd ever see the day. Speaking of generational changes, they are also adding account-wide auto loot setting. So, you know how when
[01:56] you make a new WoW character and you go to start leveling and you kill something and you click on the corpse and you go, "Why isn't this over yet?" Because you forgot to enable auto loot on that character. In patch 12.1, they're giving
[02:08] you the choice to have that option on for all of your characters and presumably all future characters you make until you decide otherwise. It's going to save you like 10 whole seconds per character forever. That,
[02:21] are, might add up. There's also a note here that they are looking into other UI settings to make account-wide in the future, so this And then one more quality of life change that they're adding into the UI in 12.1
[02:35] surprised that they haven't done already is they are adding a back button to the achievement interface. I had almost forgotten this wasn't a add-on called achievement back button just to put a back button into
[02:50] So, having it like just in the game by default seems like a good idea. Other things on the 12.1 PTR, we had raid testing last week, which was one of video. Sorry about that. We did get a good look at the heroic raid bosses
[03:05] coming next patch. They are pretty fun. There's some kind of cool, interesting ways for them to add encounter difficulty without just making it, you interrupt and another add or whatever. Like they're trying to get you to like
[03:17] There's one encounter that has you finding another player to match colored balls with to add them up to four. Some some very basic math. Looking good, anyways. Should be a fun raid. In live WoW this week, Turbulent
[03:29] Timeways has just started. It is underway with Dragonflight Timewalking. That means that it is the time, if you are interested in the Spawn of Vyr'onax mount, to get Timewalking and build up your Mastery of the Timeways buff. You
[03:41] buff and you need to do it on either four or five weeks. I will double-check your Spawn of Vyr'onax mount. We also, for the first time, have access to the Dragonflight Timewalking vendor, which has some cool stuff on it. The two
[03:57] snail slug, liquid hot magma slug, as well as a bakar mount. There's also some amazing transmog. There's these keyblades that are coming arsenals that give you different versions of the weapon so that
[04:12] two-hand or a one-hand or whatever. And then I would like to take a special moment to highlight, just so you don't miss it if it's something that you want, transmog set. This is on the Dragonflight Timewalking vendor. It's
[04:26] for 4,000 timewarped badges. Which which is a few timewarped badges, but it has a couple of alternate options. You can have it with pants or with a skirt. And these shoulders are incredible.
[04:39] Um I had to do extra timewalking just to get that, and I never do extra they had something good. Speaking of new cosmetics to get this month, the July trading post is here featuring lots of blue items and rocket
[04:52] like this, and then there's a recolor of it available on the vendor if you like. really like the weapon mogs. I got a couple of these, these rocket staff them as melee weapons. So, my fury warrior is looking good.
[05:08] hotfixes to the new invasion point zones in Aegtal and Val. Here's a whole list of good changes here including rares spawning more frequently. So, if you're it'll be you won't have to wait around as long for a rare to spawn. Dark
[05:23] particles should now drop in Aegtal and Val. That's been happening since the drop there to begin with, but what are you going to do? These changes hitting Aegtal and Val and my overall first impressions of those invasion point
[05:36] zones remind me a lot of Korthia. Because if you if you played back in Shadowlands when Korthia came out, it was a tough zone to play at first. It had some frustrating mechanics. It had massive grinds. it was not the
[05:48] friendliest place to be, and it was not the easiest thing to figure out. And of hotfixes, things were looking much better, but by then it felt like we'd was stinky and never went back to find out that it had improved.
[06:03] that. Like these changes are awesome, but I think for a lot of people they're going to be too little and too late. The heroic mode of the zone was a really cool concept and I was very excited about it. I think this version of it, in
[06:16] my opinion, was a little overtuned, particularly the ambushes. Those felt very punishing with not a lot of counterplay, and it didn't help that wonky. So, you might be fighting a rare that you'd been waiting to spawn, and
[06:29] kind of phases and you're not fighting it anymore, and it sucks to suck, I I got my heroic showdown meta achievement, and I feel like I will never go back to the heroic version of those zones. I've heard the normal
[06:42] so maybe the zones will get a better reputation that way, but >> [laughter] >> I got smoked in heroic on like my main with a full season's worth of gear. Uh maybe I got to get good. And then in my
[06:55] time streaming wow, hanging out with you guys. I have been kind of poking around at different goals to keep me busy before the next patch comes out. Uh lots of time walking. Right now I'm trying to time walk one dungeon on all of my alts
[07:08] to get the 200 bonus badges. You get 275 for one dungeon, and I figure if I just keep doing that, eventually I will both have explored the depths of alts that I've forgotten that I'd had, and maybe I'll have enough uh badges to also get
[07:21] after having also gotten both time walking mounts and the druid of the flame set. I did not have a lot of time walking a lot of time walking coming up, so I'm going to need to I'm going to need to
[07:33] And then in real life, the cats have been doing fine. Thank you for all the We've been treating them. They're looking much better, so I'm hoping we And that's been the week. Thank you very much for watching. Feel free to stop by
[07:46] like. I appreciate you guys, and I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day. Bye. >> [music]
