AI Summary

The video presents a detailed plus EV sports betting strategy, using OddsJam's dashboard to identify profitable bets. The creator explains how to configure filters, select sharp books, and evaluate plays to achieve consistent profits, claiming to have made over $20,000 in a year.

[00:01]
Introduction to Plus EV Betting

The creator introduces the concept of plus EV betting, explaining that it involves finding bets where the odds are in your favor, similar to a weighted coin flip. Over many bets, you come out ahead by the EV percentage.

[00:28]
Coin Flip Analogy

Using a coin flip example: a 50/50 chance yields even results, but a 55% chance (5.5% EV) means you win 5% over the long run. EV stands for expected value.

[01:21]
Stock Purchase Analogy

Comparing plus EV betting to buying Apple stock at $95 when it's typically $100. If you can buy at a discount, you should do it as often as possible.

[01:47]
Why Plus EV Over Arbitrage

Plus EV is the next step after arbitrage betting. It allows more volume, but lines move faster and require more work.

[02:13]
Selecting Sportsbooks

Select as many sportsbooks as possible, but consider excluding No Vig and Profit X because they are sharp and can limit accounts. The creator typically uses DraftKings, FanDuel, and others.

[02:27]
Odds Range Filter

Set odds range from -500 to +125. Avoid longer odds for singles due to variance, but include them in parlays for profit boosts.

[02:40]
EV Threshold

Set the EV threshold to around 3% to filter for bets with sufficient edge.

[02:53]
No Vig Settings

OddsJam calculates No Vig odds as the true fair odds based on multiple sportsbooks. Only available when there's enough data.

[03:07]
Choosing Sharp Books for Player Props

For player props, FanDuel is considered the sharpest. Pinnacle is also sharp. Use these as benchmarks for evaluating EV.

[03:33]
D Vig Method

The default 'power' method factors in underdog bias exponentially. Some prefer 'best case' or 'worst case'.

[03:46]
League Selection

Select leagues you understand, like basketball, football, hockey, baseball, soccer. More action on popular leagues.

[04:14]
Date Range and Market Width

Keep date range to same day to manage bankroll, unless big events. Set maximum market width to 50.

[04:40]
Example Play: Third Quarter Total

Shows a play with 5.5% EV: average odds -103, FanDuel -113, DraftKings +111. This discrepancy indicates a good bet.

[05:23]
Example Play: 8.3% EV

A play at +140 with average odds +112. FanDuel +106, No Vig +102, Profit X +114. Nearly 30 points of juice, so it's a strong bet.

[06:08]
Caution with No Vig and Profit X

These books are sharp and may limit accounts. Only take plays if at least two of FanDuel, Profit X, and Pinnacle show solid EV.

[07:03]
Using Same Game Parlays

Combine multiple EV plays from the same game for a parlay to use profit boosts, e.g., DraftKings NBA same game parlay boost.

[07:29]
Turn Off Your Brain

Don't let personal opinions override the math. Even if you think a player won't hit, the EV is based on thousands of bets, not gut feeling.

[08:08]
Example of a Play to Avoid

A play where DraftKings has -109 but Pinnacle has -134, and other sharp books agree around -114. This discrepancy suggests the EV is not reliable, so avoid it.

[09:35]
Blind Betting Warning

Don't blindly click every play. Verify that the math aligns across multiple sharp books before placing a bet.

The key to successful plus EV betting is to trust the math over intuition, but also to verify that the EV is consistent across sharp books. By using the right filters and benchmarks, you can identify profitable opportunities and avoid traps.

[00:01] profitable strategies you can use for sports betting in 2026, but a ton of people are still doing it the wrong way. So, in this video, I'm going to walk you through exactly the filters I'm using, what I'm looking for, what books I'm

[00:13] considering sharp, and my entire setup that's allowed me to profit over $20,000 in the last year alone using Odds Jam. Now, for this video, we're going to live inside of this plus EV dashboard, but before we get into plus EV, if you don't

[00:28] know what it is, I'm going to give you a very quick breakdown. So, I'll give you the simplest way I can explain it to people. There's There's two different ways I explain it. Plus EV essentially means, let's say somebody came to you

[00:41] and said, "Hey, let's do a coin flip for $100." Well, normally, you have a 50/50 chance of that coin flip winning in your favor. So, over the long run, across come out even because they're true 50/50 chance. But now, in an example like this

[00:55] you can see on the screen where it's 5.5% EV, let's say somebody comes up to flip, but it's a weighted coin. Your side now has a 55% chance of winning. Mine has 45% chance of winning." You're still going to win a hundred every time

[01:08] and lose a hundred every time that you win. Well, now, over the long run, you're going to come out 5% ahead as long as you're getting a ton of reps in, essentially what we're looking to do with plus EV betting. And EV stands for

[01:21] expected value in this scenario. Another really quick example I could tell you is, let's say you can buy Apple stock for $95 when it's typically costing a You don't know for sure tomorrow is Apple stock going to go up? Is it going

[01:34] to go down? What is it going to do in a month? Six months? But, if you could buy a stock on a true discount when every other person in the market is getting it for $100, you would be a fool not to buy that stock as much as possible, as often

[01:47] really important is because this is the next logical step for a lot of people that are arbitrage betting because you can get a lot of different plays down, you can get a lot of volume down. Four plus EV as opposed to arbitrage, there's

[02:00] a lot more work involved. The lines will move a lot faster as you know if you I'm going to open up this filters tab for you. And so right now I just have DraftKings selected, but you're going to want to select as many books as possible

[02:13] for you. Now you might not want to select No Vig or Profit X, and I'm going tell you why, but otherwise you want to have. Now for me, I like to typically put this at anywhere from minus 500 to

[02:27] put this at anywhere from minus 500 to plus 125. Now I don't like to go on the plus 125 or longer odds if I'm doing a single just because there's obviously more variance in that type of play, but I will include multiple of these level

[02:40] of plays if I'm doing a parlay to get a profit boost over on DraftKings for this at whatever you want. I typically would set this at around 3% and go from there. So now the D Vig settings is what we have here next and I typically am

[02:53] can see what this means is OddsJam calculates the No Vig odds of any given it. This is our best estimate of the true fair odds of the bet, and they're only calculating these odds if they've got multiple sports books to go off of.

[03:07] not going to get it because there's not enough data for them truly to understand the the fair odds. Now if you're looking to do player props, I consider FanDuel to be the sharpest of these choices when it comes to player props, and that's

[03:20] what I'm typically selecting here. You can also do Pinnacle here. So let's say you want to use a profit boost that's on FanDuel. Well you obviously can't D Vig I would actually choose Pinnacle in that situation. But let's just keep it at

[03:33] go with power here. So this basically just means this is the default D Vigging method that they typically use and it factors in the underdog bias exponentially. Some people like to use best case or worst case, but I typically

[03:46] obviously can go ahead and select as many leagues as you have available to going to have more action on them. So, basketball, football, hockey, baseball, soccer, as long as you semi understand the sport so you know what you're kind

[04:01] the specific player or the specific team, but you know the general rules so screwed out of a bet for something, you can go ahead and put it on here. I like to keep all the markets available for me. I'll typically keep the date range

[04:14] most sense for me so I can make sure my bankroll is being used in the same day typically. Unless there's a big event like March Madness, NBA finals, or the there's a big event in a couple days out. I don't do anything here game

[04:26] do a profit boost that's a same game parlay, you can type in a team name so then you make sure all the plays are under one game that's going on so you plays. I go ahead and I set the maximum market width to 50 here and those are

[04:40] are the settings that I'm using. Now, here's how I actually go about looking can see here we've got this third quarter total points over 52 and a half Well, you can see the average market here is minus 103. And FanDuel, which I

[04:57] said I trust mostly here, right? Especially, let's see what other options we have here. So, we don't have another like super sharp book here. Something I would consider like a Pinnacle or a No Vig or a Profit X, right? So, FanDuel is

[05:10] going to be my biggest barometer here. And you see that this is at minus 113 and over on DraftKings it's plus 111. So, you could almost even arb this. You that's how out of whack these odds are. So, this is something I would definitely

[05:23] consider taking because it's so far, right? It's 5.5% here. So, now here this is one that's even bigger. So, 8.3% just popped up on this, right? So, you're getting this at plus 140. The average odds are plus 112. FanDuel, which again

[05:38] for player props specifically, I like this and it's very sharp. We've got it plus 106. And then exchanges like No Vig and Profit X are also very sharp typically. And we can see that's at plus 102 and plus 114. So, what we could do

[05:52] plus 140 because we know we're getting nearly 30 points of juice based off of what Profit X and FanDuel say and 26 points of juice based off what No Vig is the video, I said you might not want to choose No Vig and Profit X here when you

[06:08] because if those pop up, like I mentioned, those are typically pretty lot of money down if they're maybe limited on other books. So, they'll go Profit X. So, you always want to be out on the lookout for that. You can make

[06:23] those plays, but I would make sure, let's say a play pops up for No Vig, for example. I would make sure that at least FanDuel, Profit X, and Pinnacle, two of those three is showing up and it's showing pretty solid EV there. If it

[06:36] pops up, and let's say it's plus 114, for example, and the only other books it's showing EV to are softer books like a DraftKings or a Fanatics or Caesars, then I naturally wouldn't make that play. But, if it's showing up and two

[06:49] between Pinnacle, FanDuel, and then either Profit X or No Vig, if two of those three are out of whack, then I would go ahead and make that play. Now, you, right? So, what we were talking about earlier with the same game

[07:03] parlays, right? DraftKings, for example, has a same game parlay boost for the NBA. Well, we know here that we've got four plays just from the Lakers game could EV three or four of these together, right? I know they don't

[07:17] always let you do total points for quarters as a parlay. So, I would do have to remember this, and this is to keep in mind. You need to turn off your brain when it

[07:29] comes to plus EV plays because it doesn't matter if you think Chet Holmgren is going to get over 9 and 1/2 rebounds or not because anything that you think you know about these matchups or player or tendencies is already baked

[07:44] going to pick and choose and say, "Oh, even though this is a 7.4% EV play, I'm don't believe Chet Holmgren is going to go over 9.5." Yeah, sometimes you might

[07:56] be right and have that gut feeling, but over the long run, I'm not talking 10 reps, I'm not even talking 100 bets, I'm talking over thousands of bets, the math is just going to work out in your favor better if you're going ahead and you're

[08:08] sense. Now, I'm going to show you an example of a plus EV play though that I probably wouldn't take. Now, I mentioned you that FanDuel for me, when it comes to player props, have been the most sharp, right?

[08:21] But, you won't always be able to use FanDuel, espe- especially obviously if use for a profit boost or something. So, I in this example changed the DVIG book plays that are showing up. And this is a play example that I probably wouldn't

[08:38] take, and here's why. So, you can see, for example, that the average odds for this market are minus 115, right? And right now DraftKings has it at minus 109, but Pinnacle has us at minus 134. So, their odds are way off what these

[08:53] are on, right? They're at minus 114, minus 114, minus 111, which is pretty much right in line with what DraftKings has. Now, there is no book that is always right, that is always the sharpest. Things change, formulas

[09:07] change, and it depends, like I said, player props, team markets, whatever it might be. But, three what I consider to be sharper books all pretty much agreeing on this price point of around 110 or maybe 115, I am not going to go

[09:20] and make a minus 109 play here just because Pinnacle has it at minus 134. minutes ago of, "Hey, just go ahead and make these plays, believe the math." math makes sense first before you actually do that. Don't just not look

[09:35] into this at all and blindly click bet bet bet, bet, bet and just go do all of them because you're going to see that the math doesn't always line up exactly specific play or a specific book that you're choosing for the D vig and one

[09:48] book, but the rest of the market doesn't necessarily agree with it. So, that can happen sometimes and that's exactly what happened with that Tobias Harris play. know the type of plays you should be looking for, you know exactly the type

[10:01] of books that you should be basing your math off of, you're going to be in a much better position to make these plus EV plays and actually be placing the proper plays versus just blindly placing everything that you see come up on the

[10:13] sure you put those in the comment section. I'll make sure to answer them for you and make sure you subscribe for more videos like this.
