I Tested the Top Creator Phone Microphones — Here's What's Actually Worth Your Money

[00:01] creators who are only filming using their phones? That is the question we are setting out to answer. Now today, I am joined by filmmaker, videographer, and husband, John, so that we could test some of the most popular microphones

[00:14] that are out on the market to help you decide which one is going to best fit your needs and what you look for when it comes to a quality microphone. These are the four microphones that we will be testing. First, we're going to test the

[00:27] audio both indoor and outdoor. Then, we are going to rank them based on five categories: price, ease of use, wearability, quality, and battery life.

[00:39] All of those thoughts will lead us to our final decision at the very end of wanted to partner with John on this video. One, he is way more knowledgeable than me when it comes to gear and the tech side of things since he was a

[00:52] six-figure video production owner and he actually retired to that business. So, he knows so much more than I do when it comes to gear. I think his takes and his really helpful for anyone who thinks similarly to him or values the same

[01:07] wanted to partner with him is because sometimes male and female voices will pick up differently on microphones and we wanted to test that out and see if different microphones picking up different voice types. As always,

[01:22] timestamps are below. Use them if you need them and let's dive into the we're covering today. Starting with the most common standard creator mini mic pro. This is one that I see a lot of creators using in their content and it's

[01:38] because it's by far the most budget-friendly option. This microphone costs anywhere from 20 to $30 depending on how Amazon is feeling at the moment. the time of filming, but who knows what it'll be when you're watching this. This

[01:52] microphone has a receiver that just clicks into your phone and it works with both lightning and USB type-C connections. It comes with two lav mics, which means you can record two people talking together, one receiver, one USB

[02:06] charging cable, two clips to clip onto your clothes, two sponge tips, and then two windscreen tips. With all of that said, let's test out the audio. This

[02:18] holding the mic because typically in my videos, I'm holding my microphones. It gives my hand something to do. And with this mic specifically, it only has a sideways clip. So, for a lot of my shirts, doesn't work out really well.

[02:34] sideways. Whereas, if I had like a button-up, I could just like boop, slide it in right into where that seam is, but that's not the case unless I just pinch my shirt.

[02:48] have it like this. So, this is what it sounds like with it on my clothes at like a usual chest to mouth ratio. It does have the little puffball on top, and this is what it sounds like without it. Although, I wouldn't recommend

[03:02] recording without it because I feel like it's supposed to have it. Now, to test the connection of this mic, I'm going to walk away, and we'll see if any point the mic cuts out. So, I'm just going to walk down our hallway here, and we're

[03:16] just testing the audio to see if there's any disconnect or lack of connection, any disconnect or lack of connection, fuzziness, weirdness. I'm about 30-40 ft away, and we'll see if this audio sounds good.

[03:29] I feel like typically with smaller mics like this or any mics, the sounds that like this or any mics, the sounds that we're looking for are like the F's, T's, P's, anything that's like a harsh sound, and making sure that those sounds aren't

[03:42] like popping in the mic in the audio. So, this is what this mic sounds like for me in a controlled setting, and now let's listen to John's mic. >> All right. So, next up is this super cheap microphone. Probably the cheapest

[03:56] microphone that you're going to find on Amazon, on Temu, wherever you're doing your online shopping. And just double-checking that it's on because I had this plugged in on another take, and honestly, it was tough to tell if it was

[04:08] actually recording. So, I'm going to give this a tap. Brace your ears. So, if you heard those taps, you know that this mic is plugged in. There is an that this mic is plugged in. There is an on and off button on here. So, again,

[04:23] very easy to forget to press record with these kind of mics. So, question for you guys. Can you hear the background noise on this? Can you hear my voice clearly? Is it picking it up nicely? I guess it is better than no

[04:36] mic, but I do feel like it is to me, what this those AI videos that you see when you're scrolling. And maybe those AI videos actually take inspiration from this mic because it's so popular and so common. I

[04:52] just don't like the sound, guys, if I'm being honest. I'm still talking at kind of the same level here as I was on the other mics, and I just don't know that it does a great job of picking up my voice unless I'm like actually holding

[05:05] it, you know, a few inches away from my mouth. Maybe not a bad option if you're doing yap content, but not my favorite. I think there's definitely better options out there. And, [sighs] you know, you're investing

[05:17] of these mics. You know, why not spend a few bucks more and get yourself something that you you won't have to question the quality of, at least for a >> Let's keep the ball rolling. Let's do an overview of the DJI Mic Mini first, and

[05:32] then after we do the overview, we'll go into the rankings. The DJI Mic Mini that we tested is probably the most affordable option from DJI, costing around $45, and that is without the charging case because you could get the

[05:46] charging case, but that would bump up the price to $80. While we know DJI has other phone mic options, for this video we wanted to choose only mics that were under $100 just to kind of keep everything in the same ballpark for

[06:02] comparison. This microphone came with this case. It has a receiver that plugs into your phone. This works with the USB type-C. You could also buy an iPhone lightning adapter if you need it. If you go this route, it comes with two of the

[06:16] mini mics both with clip and magnet options. It also comes with two ball options. It also comes with two ball puffs, wind puffs, ball puffies thingies that help with like wind protection. Like so.

[06:29] There is a mic charging dock because you would have to charge these individually, a charging cable, and of course the pouch that I mentioned. Right now, the only color option for the DJI Mic Mini is black and each mic, like I said,

[06:44] comes with the magnet and clip options for you to wear. A fun feature about this microphone is that it works seamlessly within the DJI ecosystem. So, if you have any other DJI products like the Action or the Pocket, you can record

[06:59] high-quality audio in tandem with those cameras with this microphone. They just sync up pretty easily. Now, with that said, let's check the audio of these said, let's check the audio of these mics. All right, next up we have the DJI

[07:12] Mic. This is what the DJI Mic sounds like without the puff ball. I'm just like without the puff ball. I'm just calling them puff balls. And I honestly have not tested this mic yet. So, I'm excited to listen to this back and see

[07:26] other mics. This is what it sounds like without the puff ball and handheld. This has a clip, so this is what it sounds like without the puff and clip

[07:38] on. I'm sure John knows the proper words and he's probably saying it in his review videos, but he's the video guy, not me. All right, and then this is what it sounds like with the added There's a

[07:51] on. Excuse me, sir. What's this thing called? This little puffball? Cuz I'm I'm just calling them puffballs cuz I don't know what they're actually called. Like I want to say diffuser, but that's

[08:04] that's for a light. Wind buff? Wind muff? Okay. I like [clears throat] puffball. Okay. So, this is what it sounds like with the puffball and then clipped onto my shirt. I also It does come with a

[08:18] magnet as well. I love the magnets because it just works with any clothes that you have. And this magnet does feel a little bit stronger than my Rode one. Now, I'm going to do my walk test. So, we're just testing this audio to see if

[08:33] we're just testing this audio to see if it is going to cut out while I'm walking down the hall further and further away. You know, if none of the mics cut out, either this is a waste of time or this was brilliant and a great test, and now

[08:46] you don't have to worry about distances with any of the mics, but we'll see when I play this audio back, and I'll let you know in my final thoughts. So, here's know in my final thoughts. So, here's John testing this outdoors.

[09:00] >> All right. So, next up, we are using the DJI Mic Mini, I believe, is the name. With this one, on the pros, like it'll say battery life, but it does have an on

[09:12] On the cons is when you're in a rush, when you're in public, you know, filming content, it's very easy to forget to turn it on. So, myself, you know, forgetting to press

[09:26] record from time to time. So, just something to keep in mind, you know. Yes, it'll save some battery life, but you may forget to turn it on. Oh, yeah. It's a good one. I did a quick, you know, little sound test, mic

[09:39] check one, two before pressing record on this clip, and I think it sounds pretty good. Again, we're we're really taking a look at the background noise, seeing how it picks up my voice. There's not really any wind going on right now, so I'm not

[09:52] too worried about that. If it was super windy, they do include like a wind muff, but, you know, again, when I'm filming content, I just want it to be as discreet as possible. Oh, gosh. That's not a good one. I think

[10:08] bit. No, it's better. I I don't really recognize it when I'm swinging though, you know, like this mic mini, it's so small, I don't really feel the weight of it on my shirt when I have it clipped

[10:21] on. There are some other mics that I've tried before where they are a little bit bigger, they are a little bit more blocky, might have better battery life or whatever the case may be, but what I

[10:33] look for in a mic like this is I don't want to think that it's there. It's kind You never really pay too much attention to wearing it, but like you have to consciously know that that it's there if to feel it, right? If you're the type of

[10:47] know, maybe not. Maybe you don't know what I'm talking about. to the road. >> Now, let's take a look at the Rode >> Now, let's take a look at the Rode Wireless Micro Mic. Now, I am aware I

[11:00] Wireless Micro Mic. Now, I am aware I have a Rode bias. I have used their Rode Wireless Go II mic on almost every single YouTube video that is literally currently what I'm using to film this video on. Rode, of course, has a very

[11:13] special place in my heart. The mic that we are testing today is the mic that I use in all of my short-form videos at the moment before testing any of the other mics. It was also gifted to me by Rode. So, I'm aware that I am biased

[11:28] towards it, but but but but but but I am going to put my bias aside for this because he doesn't have an allegiance. open-minded. At the time of filming, this microphone in black costs $86. And

[11:43] they have other color options like white, orange, red, blue, and all of white, orange, red, blue, and all of those prices range from $89 to $97. Size-wise, this mic is about twice the size of the DJI Mic Mini, but otherwise

[11:57] it's pretty similar in use. So, you just like plug in the receiver, use the recording. This is them side by side for size comparison. This one comes with two microphones. Each microphone has a clip

[12:13] microphones. Each microphone has a clip and a magnet for wearing. The phone receiver, this is the USB-C connection, a charging case, and additional a charging case, and additional puffballs or windshields, wind puffs,

[12:27] whatever you want to call them. With all of that said, let's test the audio. This is what the Rode Wireless Go mic sounds like. I don't know if I said this yet, but just ignore all the paint swatches. We're going to be renovating my office

[12:39] forward to. Anyhow, this is what it sounds like. We also have it clipped on. This is what it sounds like clipped on. Naturally, it comes with a puffball, and

[12:51] Naturally, it comes with a puffball, and this one goes on this way. puffball on. I usually am using it with this when I use it. And then, of course, clipped on. Or even this one has a magnet, too. So, with the magnet

[13:07] I don't know why I put it so low, but that's what it sounds like. Okay, now we're going to do my walking test, and we're just going to keep talking while walking down the hallway past all of the rooms. I hope you can't see into my

[13:22] bedroom because it is a mess. Okay, this is the audio far, far, far away in a galaxy far-far-far away. And now we are coming back. This is the Rode Wireless

[13:34] Micro Mic. This is usually my go-to mic. I'm curious how this one's going to stand up compared to the rest. Let's check in with John and see how he's doing at the range. >> All right, so now I am switching over to

[13:47] it's a little bit more noticeable, little bit of a bigger form factor here. Might have better battery life. I would assume that's why it's a little bit bigger than the others, but yeah, from a quick little sound check that I did,

[14:01] again, all these mics are pretty solid. You can't really go wrong. And each mic little bit differently. You know, let's say you are a male with a deeper voice, some mics might pick up on those lower frequencies a little bit

[14:17] better as opposed to, you know, a female with a higher voice. So, something to keep in mind. I mean, is it that relevant for, you know, Instagram Reels? I don't know. I would say it would be a little bit more relevant if you're like

[14:31] trying to do a podcast. Then, in that case, you know, maybe try out some different microphones and see which one sounds best with your voice. If you're really nitpicky, like if you can't tell the difference between these mics as I'm

[14:45] going through this comparison, you probably don't need to try out a bunch of different mics. And as I'm going through this, again, we're keeping an eye, we're keeping an ear out on the background noise. Can you

[14:57] other golfers swinging? Is it distracting enough to to take you away from this video? Might not be, especially there's a lot of like editing softwares now with really good audio. Maybe we'll touch on that in another

[15:12] video, but yeah, I think all of these mics are pretty solid. I will say that like if you're doing yacht content and you like holding the mic, you know, maybe having something a little bit bigger might be a

[15:24] little bit more comfortable. But for me, again, I'm trying to get myself mic'd up what I'm doing, whether that's making content or, you know, just trying to hit a golf ball golf ball.

[15:42] solid job of like staying on my shirt as I'm going through these swings. So, you know, they pass the durability test here.

[15:55] At first, this mic was a little bit distracting. You know, it touched my arm on my backswing, but as I'm getting used to it, I'm starting to forget about it a little bit more. There's not an on or off button with this microphone, but

[16:09] there is an app that you need to download. Kind of annoying. I really like the stuff that you just plug it in and go. I don't want to have to think about apps too much. I don't want to, you know, have an on and off button. I

[16:21] should just be able to plug it in, clip it on, and press record. >> Finally, we are going to talk about the SmallRig S70 wireless mic. This is a company that I started using earlier this year, actually. I have a mic that I

[16:34] really, really like from them before I was using this one, but they discontinued it. So, in the sake of being somebody who recommends gear to that mic anymore because I'm like, well, I can't recommend it to anyone cuz they

[16:48] new mic. And that's why John got their latest mic, the S70, to see how it compares to these other big-name companies. At the time of filming this video, this mic costs $90. So, it's basically the same

[17:03] price point as the Rode Wireless Micro mic. And cool thing, this comes in both black and white. So, the design of this microphone is definitely different from any of the other mics that we have talked about or tested, which I'm

[17:17] excited to see how that performs. What comes in the box with the SmallRig S70 comes in the box with the SmallRig S70 wireless mic? You get two transmitters, wireless mic? You get two transmitters, a receiver for your phone. You also have

[17:31] a receiver to film with a camera. Two windscreens, a USB-C charging cable, 3.5 mm audio cable, and a carrying case that is also a charging case. With all

[17:43] of that said, let's test the audio. Finally, this is what the SmallRig mic sounds like without anything added to it handheld. Now, this mic is a little bit different where like the microphone's not on top. It's actually on the side,

[17:59] like I don't think you could hear that, but And it's also a different design. So, let's clip it on. Definitely more discreet, especially if you're wearing darker clothes. So, this

[18:13] is it clipped on with the way that you're supposed to wear it. Now, I don't think this one comes with any puffballs. There are no puffballs for the SmallRig is a little different, I don't think I would handhold with this one cuz it

[18:30] definitely feels the most natural to wear. I'm going to do my walking test wear. I'm going to do my walking test where we are walking to see if it's with the distance. I feel like I'm America's Next Top Model on

[18:45] on a runway over here. Okay, and now we are going to walk back and see what's going on with the audio here. Check, check, check. All right, I'm going to listen back to that and give you my final thoughts on this one. But first,

[18:59] let's hear what this mic sounds like with a male voice, with John outdoors. >> All right, John here coming at you live from the golf range. One of the reasons why I decided to pick this mic up is because it's pretty discreet. It's not

[19:15] one of those big blocky ones, right? I'll kind of show you here. It looks very discreet, nonchalant, right? And that's kind of what I'm going for when that's kind of what I'm going for when I'm filming content in public spaces.

[19:31] I try not to draw too much attention to myself. I like that it just kind of looks like I'm talking to myself, which isn't the craziest thing that golfers isn't the craziest thing that golfers do, you know? So, hopefully by now

[19:47] like. It's not bad. You know, you plug it into your phone and you just run with it. >> Now, before moving on to rankings, if you learn one new thing in this video, consider giving this video a thumbs up

[20:25] We're going to be ranking all these microphones on a scale of one to five. Five being the best, one being the worst. Starting out with price, the cheapest option that we have is currently listed at $24.99. So, that's

[20:40] going to get five out of five. The second cheapest option is going to be second cheapest option is going to be the DJI Mic Mini 2 and it's currently sitting at $45. So, with that, we're going to give it

[20:52] four out of five. The next option is going to be the SmallRig. Right now, it's currently listed at $89.99. Sometimes you can find them cheaper. They might do a sale here and there or on different websites they have

[21:04] said, we're going to rank it three out of five. And our most expensive option is going to be the Rode Wireless Micro. It's currently listed at $90. By the way, I have my computer right here, so if you see me looking off in this

[21:19] direction, I'm just double-checking all of the facts. That being said, $90 for somebody who's just starting out can be a bit steep. I know the SmallRig was a bit steep. I know the SmallRig was listed at 1 cent cheaper, but with that,

[21:32] I'm going to rank it a two out of five, but take it with a grain of salt because the price difference isn't much. >> Now, I am going to fix John's pricing difference, we're both agreeing that these are pretty much three out of five

[21:46] these are pretty much three out of five stars because there are, of course, other more high-quality, higher investment microphones that are going to be over $100. So, because these are still both that under that $100 range,

[22:01] these both get a three out of five. Now, let's jump to ease of use. I agree with John here that each of these have one friction point before being able to use it. However, there are some things that I don't love. For example, with this

[22:19] microphone, when you are using it in filming, if you have it plugged into your phone and you want to listen back to a clip that you just recorded, you have to unplug it in order to listen back to anything, which I think is just

[22:33] like it's been and kind of tedious or annoying when filming content. So, because of that, didn't love that user experience. Plus, for me, I don't like the microphones that have on and off buttons because I keep forgetting to

[22:50] turn certain ones off or, like with this one, I accidentally press the button. It's right where you hold it. It's right here. And it's so easy to accidentally though it's so easy to use, you just plug it into your phone and you record,

[23:06] I've found that I like accidentally disconnect it or I turn it off or I forget to turn it on. And because of that, I don't love it. So, I'll say three out of five. Now, I will say with the SmallRig and the DJI, even though

[23:21] they have on and off buttons, they're placed in a more intuitive spot on the microphones. With the DJI, it's on the side. And then with the SmallRig, it is

[23:33] also on the side. And because of that, I didn't find myself accidentally pressing didn't find myself accidentally pressing them. And I believe they are automatically on every time you connect your phone. So, you don't have to like

[23:46] worry too much about turning them on. But, I'm somebody that I feel like I'll always mess everything up. And so, because of that on-off button, I know I'm picky, I'm giving both of those four out of five. And then finally, the Rode

[23:58] Wireless Micro, I would give this one five out of five because it is so easy to use, but it's the only one that has an app setup, which is a pro and a con. download the app. That's it. You download the app and then anytime you

[24:13] reopen the app again, it automatically works. And it's a one-time setup. Once you are connected in the app, you never have to do that again, you don't have to worry about it. So, every time I filmed since then, and I've filmed easily over

[24:26] 40 to 60 videos on this already, I haven't had to worry about that again. But, because it's the app setup, that might be a friction point for some. So, it does affect my rating. But, the pro to that is because there is an app, you

[24:39] can adjust the audio gain of like how much of your voice it picks up or even if you want to do two channels because it has the two transmitters or if you're only doing one channel. So, there is more customization, which I appreciate.

[24:53] me. >> The next [snorts] category is going to be wearability. Again, for me personally, I like to not notice that I'm actually wearing a mic. And I don't want the people around me to know that

[25:07] it's a bit distracting from the video and the story that I'm trying to tell. So, with that being said, I'm going to go ahead and bring the SmallRig, which is what I'm wearing right now, five out of five. Yes, it's clip-on, but

[25:20] five out of five. Yes, it's clip-on, but for those who like yapping content, front of your face, and it's not that different from holding any of the other

[25:34] mics. Like, I'm wearing it right now, and I can barely notice it. And since 99% of my wardrobe is black t-shirts, this is a perfect fit for me. So, in my opinion, the SmallRig is going to get five out of five. All right, next is the

[25:48] five out of five. All right, next is the DJI Mic. Now, that thing was so small, so light. It has the option to clip on to your shirt. It also comes with a it in different spots around your shirt. With that being said, I'm giving it four

[26:02] out of five. Same thing with the Rode, it comes with the clip, it comes with the magnet. It was just a little bit bigger, a little bit heavier. So, I'm out of five. All right, and the last one, two out of five, is going to be the

[26:17] cheapest Gosh, there's not even like a brand name associated with it. It's just the cheap one. It only has the option to clip onto your shirt. It's a bit five. >> Now, let's move on to quality. I'm going

[26:32] to start with this one, and I think I'm going to be mean. I'm just wrote down I think I'm going to give this one a one out of five. Yeah, it picks up your voice, but I'm going to be honest, I would rather film with my iPhone and use

[26:45] the voice enhance option when editing it. Because there's voice enhance in like Adobe Premiere Pro on mobile. You just press enhance speech and then it sounds like you're literally using a quality mic. And so I would rather not

[27:01] and I'll just film on my phone. Unless you're filming really far away, which I >> fine, maybe I'll give this one two out of five. >> I'll give it a two out of five because it did pick up my audio when I was

[27:15] walking really really really far away. So that was the redeeming quality. If you're moving around a lot and you want your audio to maintain the same and then you could use speech enhance after. I'll give this one a two out of five. All of

[27:27] the other options are super comparable. SmallRig, Rode, DJI, they all have like little quirks about them. Like with Rode and DJI when I was walking down my hall, you could hear my footsteps a little bit more whereas like the SmallRig, you

[27:41] that was cool that it kind of like muffled that out. But then in terms of like which ones I liked better with my voice, I liked Rode and DJI a little bit better than SmallRig. So they either all get four out of five or they either all

[27:55] get five out of five. But when thinking about quality, it's more than just audio quality. It's also the product itself and everything that it comes with. And so because of that, I'm going to give the DJI four out of five simply because

[28:09] with that price, you don't get the charging case. And that's fine, but I quality of the product that much more valuable for me as a content creator because if I'm out and about on the go, I am going to want that charging case

[28:24] instead of little charging docks to have to charge these one at a time. But the quality of the audio is great and it's fine. It's so comparable to Rode and SmallRig. Rode, I'm also going to give four out of five simply because can I do

[28:39] like Rode 4.5 out of five? Because it's like right in between. It's like DJI, Rode, SmallRig. I have to go with SmallRig for this one simply because it comes with the freaking camera transmitter, too. And so, when you're

[28:54] paying the same price for these two, but you get something that's compatible for your phone and a camera, that is so, so, so cool. So, quality of the product, five out of five for SmallRig. Even though all three of these are super

[29:09] comparable with quality, I found it interesting how differently they picked up my voice. I feel like the DJI sounded a little bit more boxy for me with my

[29:21] voice. The SmallRig sounded a little bit more quiet, soft, a little not muffled, but it sounded a little quiet, like I was far away. And then the Rode picked being biased. Here's proof because I showed John and then I got his reaction.

[29:37] >> One more time. What did What you say? >> So, when we're playing it off of your phone, like most people are going to be scrolling on social media with their scrolling on social media with their phones, I think that the Rode actually

[29:49] >> It does. >> You know, it might sound a little different with like headphones, but just like from what we just saw, I think the Rode is the one right here. >> So, I'm not just I'm not biased. It It

[30:01] >> Yeah. >> So, Rode Wireless Micro Mic, I am going my voice the best. I think my voice sounds the best with this mic. It's a quality product and it's a durable brand. Like I know I've had this Rode

[30:16] mic for forever and I know like I might not ever have to buy another short form mic on this. So, because it worked best for my voice, that one's getting a five out of five. This one's also getting a five out of five because it has the

[30:29] camera transmitter. And so, in terms of like value of what you get, this one you do get more value because it comes with the camera and the phone transmitter. with that, my voice didn't pick up the SmallRig mic well. So, these are both

[30:45] five out of fives, but for different reasons. Like this one in terms of like value that you get and with what you pay for, and I know this one's John's favorite and it sounds so good for him and the content he creates. It just

[30:57] didn't pick up my voice well, and then this one's because it worked for me. >> The next category that we are going to be taking a look at is battery life. In my opinion, I think all of these are pretty solid for pretty casual content,

[31:10] especially if you're just kind of filming reels. But, the winner of this category is going to be the DJI. It says it's listed at 11.5 hours of continuous recording. So, that's going to go ahead and get a five

[31:26] out of five from me. I do wish it came with a charging case though. But then, tag and makes things a little bit more complicated. So, winner of this category with 11.5 hours of battery life is going to be the

[31:41] DJI. The runner-up is going to be the SmallRig. It's getting four out of five SmallRig. It's getting four out of five from me. Each of these microphones says it's listed for eight hours of continuous recording. And with the

[31:53] charging case, if you're swapping between mics, you could probably get about 40 hours is what it has listed. Four out of five, solid amount of battery life. Now, taking a look at the Rode, it was a little tricky because on

[32:07] their page, they don't have the actual battery life listed on their sales page looking at some reviews, it's looking like it's about seven hours of recording. So, I'm going to go ahead,

[32:21] give that three out of five. And the last in this category, to be expected, is going to be the cheapest option. It didn't have the battery life listed on the sales page, but again, digging through the reviews, it looks like it's

[32:34] out of five. >> So, I mean I have a spreadsheet. These are mine and John's average ratings per each mic. So, for the standard creator mic, my average rating was a 2.8 out of

[32:49] five stars, and John was a three out of five stars. So, our average rating for five stars. So, our average rating for that standard creator mic is 2.9 out of five stars. Next with DJI, my average rating for DJI was 4.2, and John's was

[33:04] four. So, our total average rating was 4.1 stars. The Rode Wireless Micro mic, my average rating was 4.2 stars, John's was 3.4, and our total average for that is 3.8 stars. And then the SmallRig mic, my average rating was 4.2, and John's

[33:21] was 4.4. And so, our total average is 4.3. It looks like overall, SmallRig got the best rating. And I agree, I do think SmallRig is all around a really, really,

[33:33] really good option, especially because it has a white mic, and I am very much I want an aesthetic microphone. So, I might be swayed to get the white microphone. And I think John judged the Rode mic just a little too harshly. I

[33:48] think just because of the how heavy it was, he rated it a little bit lower for rate-ability. And uh because they weren't transparent about battery life on the sales page, he rated it a little bit lower. But, like I said, this one

[34:02] sounded best with my voice, and John agreed. So, overall, my final thoughts, let's not use this microphone anymore. Okay? If you need something cost-effective or closer to that price point, DJI, it will probably be a pain

[34:16] to use like the individual charging docks. That is the biggest pain in the butt, and if you are going out and about recording, might not be the best option charging case. But, at that point, if you're going to be investing in the DJI

[34:32] with the charging case, you might as well invest in one of these, too, because both of these, like I said, you could do white or black, and then this one has a little bit more color options. As you heard, the Rode Wireless Micro

[34:44] picked up my voice better, so maybe it's better for female voices, whereas the SmallRig mic picked up John's voice a lot better. His voice is a lot deeper, and so [snorts] if you're a guy, this might be the better mic option for you.

[34:59] I will continue using the Rode Wireless Micro mic. It has been so easy for me to Micro mic. It has been so easy for me to use. I honestly don't want to film with use. I honestly don't want to film with any black-colored mic. I don't know, it
