15% Returns Are Gone! Here's What Works in 2026
45sHigh-yield savings rates are a hot topic, and this opening directly addresses the shift from 15% to lower returns, creating urgency and curiosity.
▶ Play Clip"Delivers a thorough, well-structured breakdown of Mexican savings accounts, though the title's 'best' claim is subjective and some options are marginal."
This video provides a comprehensive analysis of the best savings and investment accounts in Mexico for 2026, focusing on options that offer higher returns than CETES. It categorizes the options into Sofipos, banks, and other fintech products, detailing their rates, requirements, and fine print, including insurance coverage and rate validity.
The video begins by noting that while high returns (15% per year) were common in the past, today's rates are lower, but it's still possible to find good investment options. The focus is on accounts that pay higher returns than CETES (7.44% annually) and Buen Día (6.93%).
Mercado Pago offers 13% annual return if you deposit 3,000 pesos monthly, otherwise 7%. The rate applies only to the first 25,000 pesos. It's a fintech, not covered by Prosofipo, but backed by MercadoLibre.
All Sofipos are backed by Prosofipo insurance covering up to 25,000 UDIs (~216,820 pesos) in case of bankruptcy. UDIs are inflation-adjusted units.
Didi Account (via JP Sofip Express) offers 16% annual on balances up to 10,000 pesos, and 8.5% on excess. Monthly deposit limit is 25,999 pesos. Rates valid since Sept 16, 2025.
Nu offers 7% on demand, but 13% with Turbo Box if you make at least one purchase per month with Nu card. Also has fixed-term 'frozen savings' with rates varying by term, valid until Feb 18, 2026.
Klar offers 3% base, but 5% more with Klar Plus or Platinum (requires 3,000 pesos monthly spending). Max investment gives 15% on first 25,000 pesos. Valid until unspecified date.
Finsus offers 4% on demand, 7.08% with Finsus Plus, and fixed-term rates up to 9.09% for one year. Minimum deposits from 1 peso (savings) and 100 pesos (fixed). Temporary promotions can go higher.
Bruxel offers 10% annual on demand with no minimum, but max deposit 25,999 pesos per month. Requires Bruxel Pay debit card (one-time cost). Rate validity not officially stated.
Leva offers two accounts: Leva Cuenta (min 20,000 pesos) and Leva Plus (min 10,000,000 pesos). Rates up to 14.5% for 24-month term. Terms from 3 to 24 months, payment at end or monthly. Valid until Jan 31, 2026.
Stori shows returns as GAT (total profit), which can be misleading. Real interest rates are lower: e.g., 7.50% APR is actually 7.23% annual. Investment Plus offers 15% GAT (14.14% real) but limited to 5,000 pesos once per client. Valid until Feb 9, 2026.
Fondeadora's vault offers 9% annual if money is frozen for at least 30 days. Early withdrawal yields 0%. Deposits can be made after initial, but each has its own 30-day period.
Supertas offers on-demand and fixed-term investments, but rates are not competitive. Ultratas offers fixed-term only, with best rate 11.25% for one year, min 1,000 pesos, valid until July 22, 2026.
All banks have IPAB guarantee protecting up to 400,000 UDIs (~3.4 million pesos) in case of bankruptcy.
OpenBank offers 9% annual on demand with no management or inactivity fees. Open Light allows deposits up to 3,000 UDIs/month, Open Plus up to 30,000 UDIs/month. Valid until July 7, 2026.
Mifel digital account offers 10% annual on demand, min 1 peso, max deposits 3,000 UDIs/month. Mifel Evoluciona allows up to 500,000 pesos/month, min 100 pesos, max balance 500,000 pesos. Valid until April 30, 2026.
Klal offers 7.25% on first 30,000 pesos, but 13% if you spend 3,000/month or bring payroll, and 16% if you spend 6,000/month. Valid until Feb 2, 2026.
Hey Bank offers 4% on demand, but 7% (7-day) and 7.5% (28-day) with Fan or Pro status (requires 50 pesos/month or card usage). Min investment 1,000 pesos.
Revolut offers 15% on first 25,000 pesos, 7% from 25,000 to 1,000,000, and 4% above. Plans: Standard (free), Premium (149 pesos/month), Metal (349 pesos/month) with increased returns. Valid from Jan 27, 2026.
Cobalto offers fixed-term investments from 7 days to 3 years, with rates up to 9.75% for long terms. Min 5,000 pesos, payment monthly or at end. Valid until Feb 5, 2026.
The video concludes that while rates and conditions change frequently, understanding how to read returns and insurance coverage is crucial for making informed investment decisions. It emphasizes that financial power comes from knowing how to interpret information independently.

25:21[00:01] we could find options to invest our money with quite high returns. Rates of 15% per year were very common. However, today the and lower rates on our investments are a reality. But
[00:17] even with all this, it is possible to find great investment options with very good returns to grow our money. So today we're going to analyze which are the best accounts to save and invest your
[00:29] money in 2026, covering all the details and especially the fine print that nobody tells you. In this content we will only include accounts that currently pay higher returns than setes, which is
[00:41] Mexico. and also those options that are very popular because they have a lot of marketing. We did not include all the deadlines of all the institutions in Mexico because we would never finish and some
[00:54] are not really that relevant. However, here you will find all the information description I'll leave you the official links for each product in case you're confirm that the information is up to date. Now, to make
[01:08] [music] three different categories. First, we start with the vintage ones, then we continue with the OIPOs and finally we finish with the banks. But to really begin, let's talk about sets. It's no secret that
[01:21] sets. It's no secret that recording this video, yield 7.44% annually, and the Buen Día ones pay 6.93%
[01:34] annually. So ideally, if we're going to use any other option, it should pay us more than this to really make it worthwhile. So please take this as a reference when viewing all the
[01:46] video options. Without further ado, let's go straight to the first category, vintage, and move on to its only option, Mercado Pago. Currently, Mercado Pago offers a fairly high return, with an annual rate of 13% and the money available at
[02:00] any time. But be aware that to actually get that 13%, you need to deposit 3000 pesos a month into the account. If you do not meet this requirement, the return will drop to 7% per year. And another important point is
[02:14] that the 13% rate or the 7% annual rate only applies to the first 25,000 pesos. [music] If you deposit more money, the excess will no longer generate The validity of these rates is currently unknown, so you should pay close attention to
[02:29] is a vintage company supervised by the National Banking and Securities Commission, means it is not covered by insurance such as Prosofipo for Ofipos or IPAP for banks that protect in case of bankruptcy. But well,
[02:43] to be completely honest, it's a giant company and it's backed by MercadoLibre, which is even a public company. So for me it's a Mercado PAGO is a great ecosystem and a good alternative if you can maintain
[02:56] monthly deposits of 3,000 and if your investment will remain below 25,000 euros. And if you get this far, leave the banknote emoji. Without further ado, let's move on to the [music] category of Sofipos and here's some
[03:09] important information. OFIPO stands for popular financial society and absolutely all OFIPOs have the backing of Proofipo insurance that covers your assets for up to 25,000 UDIs which are equivalent to approximately 216,820
[03:24] pesos today. And this applies to a case of bankruptcy or intervention. In your money goes bankrupt, they would return up to that amount. In Mexico, UDI stands for investment unit, and these are units that constantly change in value and are
[03:39] [music] against inflation. That is why most financial insurance policies are expressed in UDIs. All OFIPOs have exactly the same [music] options in this category have this insurance, so I'm not going to
[03:53] repeat this as a feature in each [music] of the options. I'll clearly. My personal suggestion for all OIPOs, if you want to be 100% sure, is to invest without exceeding the insurance limit and distribute your money
[04:07] across different institutions to take better advantage of the rates, but without compromising protection. Now let's move on to the first option in the category, the Didy Account. As many already know, Didi has expanded into the
[04:19] financial sector through JP Sofi Express, the Sofipo that it acquired and now operates as the DD account. Here we have only one demand, where you get a return of 16% per year for amounts up to 10,000
[04:33] [music] pesos. If your balance exceeds that limit, the excess will generate 8.5% annually. And here [music] there is no limit to the amount of money it generates returns. It can be anything. However, as of
[04:46] today and at this precise moment, you can only deposit up to 25.99 euros per month due to regulations. In my opinion, although the rate decreases when exceeding 10,000 pesos, it is important to highlight that both returns are still
[05:00] higher than setes in the same period, so it is still quite good. These rates have been in effect since September 16, 2025 and have no be aware of any changes. DID is right for you if you have 10,000 pesos
[05:14] to take advantage of the 16% and if you plan to invest no more than 25.99 pesos per month to receive 8.5%. 5% per year. It's a very good option, really. Unfortunately, it limits the monthly deposit. Let's move on now to the
[05:29] second Sofito. Noob. In this option, the base return on demand is 7% per year, with the possibility of withdrawing your money whenever you want, remembering, of course, that you have to put it in the famous little box to generate this money. As you may
[05:42] noticeably lower performance. However, if you make at least one purchase per month with your NU [music] credit or debit card , you can access the Turbo Box, which gives you a 13% annual return, limited to a
[05:57] fixed-term investments under the name of frozen savings with rates that vary according to the duration. These are the ones you are currently open any of these terms is 50 Mexican pesos and these rates are
[06:11] valid until February 18, 2026. In my personal opinion, it's not very returns are not what they used to be, I still have some of my money there. using this option for a while now, I prefer to leave this money in my account rather than in my
[06:26] traditional bank, which didn't generate anything for me. It's attractive that there's no maximum amount for that 7% and that you can deposit up to 260,195 pesos per month and obviously withdraw everything immediately. To be honest, I
[06:39] like it, but I know I'm biased because in the past I took advantage of it a lot when I did n't have the 15% rate and well, I've stayed in the ecosystem. It's a good option, but if I were starting from scratch today, I'm sure there are better
[06:51] options. Without further ado, let's move on to the next Sofipo. Clar. Clear returns you receive. So let's take it one step at a time . To start, they offer a 3% annual interest rate. Then there are the Clar
[07:05] Plus and Platinum categories, where your on-demand returns increase by 5% annually in the account. you first need to spend 3000 pesos per month on Clar Plus with your Clar card, either debit or credit. And for Clar Platino, you can only access it by
[07:20] offer exactly the same returns. In addition to the current account, of course, it offers three types of investment. [music] The max investment, the sections where your money is always available and you can withdraw it in
[07:34] full or in part whenever you decide, and the fixed investments, where the rates change according to the term and the category you are in [music] and are currently the ones you are seeing on screen. Now, the Max investment is the
[07:47] most attractive. If you are a plus or platinum user, it gives you a rate of 15% per year limited to 25,000. These conditions are valid until keep the rates the same or change them. Clar is an option for you if
[08:02] you meet the monthly spending requirement and you can join Clar Plus or Platinum, where the rates really become competitive. And yes, remember there's a 15% annual rate, but remember, it's capped at 25,000. [music] However, in terms of visible returns, they are
[08:14] not very competitive. Let's move on to the next option. Finsus. At Finsus you have two main ways to move your money. Savings on demand and fixed-term investment. Within the savings account there is a category for
[08:27] where the return is 4% annually automatically. However, if you manually transfer your savings to the Finsus Plus section, your rate increases to 7.08. 08%. In the investment section, the return depends on the [music] term, which ranges from
[08:42] 7 days to 1800 days. The updated rates are the ones you are seeing on the screen and currently the highest is 9.09% for a one-year term. It is also very important to mention that Finsus
[08:55] occasionally offers some temporary rate promotions, but these are for a we were making this video, I saw firsthand a rate of 13.09% 09% annually and then one of 12.09% 09% annually and
[09:09] then nothing, so the validity of the rates is not entirely clear. start with very low amounts, from 1 peso for savings on demand and from 100 pesos for fixed-term investments. Finsus is a good option to start investing
[09:22] with small amounts or if you are looking for flexibility to move your money between savings on demand and fixed-term investments with different time horizons, in addition to occasionally launching temporary promotions with higher rates
[09:34] that can be very attractive. However, their Let's move on to the next [music] option from Proxel, a not-so- popular Sofipo in which we have only one main category, savings in sight,
[09:49] the virtual vault. [music] Here you get an annual return of 10%. There is no minimum amount to start and the maximum deposit amount in the basic account is 25.99 per month. There are no fixed terms and
[10:05] the app. To get started, you just need to open your app account and have the Bruxell Pay debit card, which has a one-time cost of 1. Bruxell has not shared official information about the validity of
[10:17] this rate, so the information may change at any time. It's the off-labels and all the investment options put a date, but they also say afterwards that it's subject to change without prior notice, so you have to keep an eye on things
[10:29] in general. In my opinion, it's a very good rate and it's clear. It is very similar to the DD option because although there it pays you 16% which is on the first 10,000, afterwards it drops to 8.5%. So this seems like a
[10:41] balanced option to me, and it has a good rate, [music] although the Sofipo isn't very well known, as long as you stay within the insurance, it seems like a good option to me. Now let's move on to the next Sofipo, Leva. Leva is a Sofipo that
[10:53] offers good returns in the medium and long term, although there are no demand as in the other options and it definitely requires higher amounts. Here we have two options, the count lever and the
[11:07] plus lever. Leva cuenta is the option with the most accessible minimum amount within the platform with a minimum investment of 20,000 Mexican pesos. [music] Yeva plus is the account with the highest minimum amount where you must invest
[11:19] from 10,000,000 Mexican pesos. And in this last one you can see its last one you can see its winning rate, which is 14.5% per year over a period of 24 months, although the account's 13% rate is not far
[11:32] behind either. And in general, the other rates are what you see on the screen; they're actually quite good. In both accounts you can choose terms from 3 to 24 months [music] and you can also choose to receive payment at the end of the
[11:44] term or monthly, which is also quite convenient. Obviously, if you leave it until the money due to compound interest. On their website you will be able to find a very simple calculator with the point differences. These rates are
[11:57] available until January 31, 2026. Personally, I've never used this platform, but it's very popular, so it's worth mentioning. Leva invest larger amounts and are looking for higher rates and longer terms, as
[12:11] they have good returns and good payment schemes. However, it does traditional way; that is, registration is less simple than in other options. Let's move on to the next option, [music] story. And you have to be careful here because
[12:23] Story uses the GAT, that is, the total profit and not the interest rate to show its returns, and that can be a little confusing. The GAT [music] is not the same as the interest rate. It is a standardized way of showing
[12:35] annual performance under certain assumptions, and the problem is not the GAT itself. The options use interest rate, showing only the GAT makes the comparison not straightforward and makes the performance look higher than it
[12:50] correct comparison in this case, you have to look at the real interest rate, which is the one used by almost all platforms. In Story Cuenta Más you have a 7.50% nominal APR on demand, [music] but the 7.50% APR is
[13:05] really an annual interest rate of 7.23%. And the same goes for the other Story products, more investment. For example, this of up to 15%. But these are the interest rates, which are really the
[13:18] most comparable with the other options. It should be emphasized that Story Investment Plus is a long-term option, meaning you cannot withdraw the money early . Also, there's some fine print. The first is that this 15%
[13:31] GAT, that is, [music] the 14.14% 14% return, has a maximum investment amount of 5,000 Mexican pesos and can only be contracted once per client. In other words, if you subscribe to it once, you won't be able to use it again.
[13:44] So, it really is less return, very little money to invest, and compared to the others, it's not a lasting benefit. However, the Story are that you can set your deposit level and, unlike other options, it
[13:57] allows you to invest unlimitedly at the highest level. This is to take advantage of the other rates, obviously because the 15% GAT rate, which is 14.14% real interest, cannot be used more than once. To be honest, term rates are
[14:10] relatively good. Visually it's not that competitive, it's almost the same as ETES, but overall it's okay. However, the 15% GAT promotion these rates are valid until February 9, 2026, so you should
[14:23] be aware of any changes. We move on to the next sofipo, which is Fondeadora. At Fondeadora, there is only the vault function, which is a section with a 9% annual return, but only if you leave it frozen for at least 30
[14:36] days. And it works something like this. Leave your money for a month and receive a 9% annual return. If you keep it there, it will continue to generate those returns for longer. But if you withdraw early, that is, before
[14:49] the 30 days have passed or are completed, a rate of 0% per year applies, meaning you don't earn anything. leave it for a minimum of 30 days for the 9% annual rate to apply. An important thing to note is that you can continue making deposits after the first one, but
[15:03] [music] so you have to plan it carefully. The website also has a calculator so you can better estimate your earnings. They haven't updated so you also have to keep an eye out for any changes. It's a good option,
[15:16] rates on the market due to these particular [music] restrictions. Without further ado, let's move on to the next one. You overcome. Supertas presents two offers, an on-demand investment and fixed- term investments with different returns, which are the ones you
[15:30] . The current interest rate isn't very competitive, and although the installment plans are good, there are better options. I'm showing this option because it 's also a very popular Sofipo and it's worth analyzing. These
[15:42] rates are valid until January 30, 2026, so you need to be very attentive to any changes. Finally, I want to add an option that I have never used, but which has very attractive rates. However, I do recommend a more in-depth review here
[15:54] because it's not a very popular Sofipo, but at the end of the day it is a regulated online Sofipo. However, since I have no personal experience here and that you take this information with caution and, if you want to invest
[16:07] here, do more extensive research. And this last option that I haven't used is ultratas. There are no immediate gains here, only fixed-term gains, and its most attractive rate is 11.25% per annum for a one-year term, and the rest
[16:22] of the rates are those you are currently seeing on the screen. Their ask for your phone number, and the rates are valid until July 22, 2026. Additionally, the minimum investment amount is 1,000 Mexican pesos.
[16:36] high performance, although it's still below the EV. And if you made it coin emoji. Let's change categories now and go directly to the banks. All banks have the IPAV guarantee, meaning that your
[16:51] savings are protected up to 400,000 investment units or UDIs, which is approximately 3.4 million pesos. And PAP stands for Institute for the Protection of Bank Savings, it is [music] the one that will be in
[17:05] charge of administering the insurance of bank deposits and protecting your money in case of bankruptcy. With that clarified, let's go to the first bank, OpenBank. OpenBank is one of the most popular options currently available.
[17:17] It has two accounts, Open Light and Open Plus. The main difference between the two accounts lies in the monthly deposit limits. The Openlight account allows you to receive deposits of up to 3,000 UDIs per month, approximately 26,000
[17:31] Plus [music] offers a much higher limit of up to 30,000 UDIs per month, approximately 260,000 Mexican pesos. However, despite these both accounts share important features. [music] They
[17:45] do not charge account management or inactivity fees and offer a 9% annual rate in the Open sections, where your money will generate profits and is available at all times, allowing you to start from one Mexican peso. These
[17:59] conditions are valid until July 7, 2026. Although [music] being completely transparent, OpenBank recently changed the rate before it came into prior notice. However, OpenBank is a very good alternative for those who
[18:12] want a 9% annual return with full availability from one peso of the best offers at the moment. However, let's move on to the second banking option, which for me is the best in terms of performance. And
[18:26] we're talking about Mifel. The Mifel digital account offers a 10% annual return on a minimum investment amount of 1 Mexican peso with maximum deposits of 3,000 UTIS per month, which is about 26,000 Mexican pesos, and in an account with no
[18:40] expiration date or defined term, that is, [music] on demand. However, there is also the Mifel Evoluciona account, which has the same features, but allows you to deposit up to 500,000 pesos per month instead of
[18:53] minimum amount to receive interest payments is $100 and the maximum amount, pay attention here, is a total of $500,000 . If you have more than that, it no longer generates that performance. Your money will be available when you need it and
[19:07] will generate profits from day one. This promotion is valid until April 30, 2026. My Fael is quite convenient if you want a 10% return with daily liquidity and a very accessible start from 100 pesos,
[19:20] in addition to a fairly considerable limit. And well, probably the best product on the market if you want to invest up to 500,000 Mexican pesos. Mifel investment products which I've listed here on the screen. However, their star product at the
[19:33] moment is indeed the 10% in sight. Without further ado, let's move on to the third bank. Hal. Hal offers a base return of 7.25% per year on the first 30,000 pesos you However, if you decide to save more than that amount, the excess will no longer
[19:49] generate interest. Now, if you spend $ 3,000 a month or bring your payroll in, your rate will rise to 13% annually for the rest of the month. And if you spend 6,000 on monthly consumption or also bring your Agualá payroll, your rate will rise to 16%
[20:04] annually until the end of that month. However, since the rate is renewed monthly, the faster you reach the rate, the more days you'll have with that return. You can start from 100 Mexican pesos, and according to their
[20:16] official website, this offer will be valid until February 2, 2026. Walá doesn't have the most attractive offer, but it is a popular one because of the famous 16%. It's good for those who spend 6,000 pesos a month or have their payroll with the bank,
[20:30] because that's where the rate can reach up to 16% and you also have total availability. Of course, always remembering that after 30,000 it spending rate and don't plan to save more than 30,000 pesos, it's actually a good
[20:44] personal opinion, it has many requirements that involve spending money and the limit is a bit low, so I think there may be better options. Let's move on to the next option. Hey bank. There you will receive a guaranteed 4%
[20:56] annual return by saving from one peso, which, although not very high and less than setes, is something. This is a different savings section, similar to the NU box, and you can withdraw it whenever
[21:08] you want, but it's in a different section. It also has the G investment, where they currently give you rates of 7% per year in a rates of 7% per year in a 7-day return and up to 7.5% per year in 28 days. The
[21:20] only requirement to have these rates is that they have to be pro-fan. To be a fan you have to pay 50 pesos a month and to be a pro you have to debit or credit card during a month. Any option will work for you to access the benefits.
[21:34] The minimum amount for the investment section is 1,000 Mexican pesos, and website, we have to be attentive, as it can change at any time. In my personal opinion, I really like Hey as a bank in general and as an
[21:46] institution. It's a great company, but currently, and focusing exclusively on generating returns, there are better rates, so it's not as convenient for that. Let's move on to the next option, Revolute. Revolute is the new option
[21:58] on the market that recently arrived in Mexico with a multiple banking license, meaning that it is a registered bank and not some international bank that is starting operations in Mexico. And here we also have
[22:11] the option of sections with daily returns and to this day they offer a fairly high return of 15% per year. However, like many options, that 15% does apply to all users, but only on the
[22:25] first 25,000 [music] pesos you enter. From that amount onwards, performance begins to change. From 25,000 pesos to depending on the plan you have contracted. For the first 25,000 you earn
[22:39] 15% annually. Now, from 25,000 pesos to 1,000,000 pesos you earn 7% annually, a rate similar to CES. And for more than 1 million, you only earn 4% annually. In addition, Revolute offers three memberships with different benefits and costs. The
[22:55] standard plan, which is free, the premium plan which costs 149 Mexican pesos per month, and the metal plan, which costs 349 Mexican pesos per month. which include, first and foremost, the increase in returns
[23:11] received. And those increases are what you 're seeing on screen right now. However, the money that remains in the main account does not generate returns. [music] You have to move it to the reserved area and from there you can
[23:23] remove it whenever you want. Now, this benefit will be valid from January 27, 2026 and will remain valid until Revolutifique makes new updates. Revolut is a very good option if
[23:35] you have less than 25,000 pesos and want to take advantage of a high rate with daily liquidity. However, if your savings are a larger amount, it is still a pretty solid option, [music] since you have the protection of the Institute
[23:48] although the return may not be so attractive for these amounts, the fact that it is a bank that generates returns is still a good thing, since today there are many banks that still do not offer any type of return. And
[24:02] finally, let's look at Cobalt. In the case of Cobalto, we will focus solely on its investments with a single payment at the end of the term, since today Cobalto does not offer immediate returns, but it does have
[24:14] fixed-term investments ranging from 7 days to 1092 days, that is, 3 years. The current rates are those you are currently seeing on the screen, and you can select whether to receive interest monthly or at the end of the period. The
[24:27] minimum amount to make these investments is 5,000 Mexican pesos, and this promotion is valid until February 5, 2026. Although the 9.75% annual return may not seem so high. It 's a really great rate considering
[24:41] we secured a very long term. It can be a good option if you don't need a season of low rates, you secure a good return for a long time, available later. In my opinion, Cobalt is a very good option
[24:54] if you already handle higher amounts and prefer to invest in a fixed term with payment at the end. And being a bank, it offers iPad protection. If you're going to this is a very good option, but if you're going to invest less than the 25,000 that
[25:07] Prosofipo protects you, Leva has a better rate. And if you made it this far in the video, comment with the monkey emoji. These are currently the accounts money and make it grow at the same time. And while it's clear that rates and
[25:21] conditions will be constantly changing, what's important to me is that you understand the concepts, that you know how to read the returns, and that you're clear about because at the end of the day, when you know how to interpret the information on your
[25:35] own, you make better decisions, and that's where true financial power lies. As always, it's a pleasure to accompany you on this journey and be of service. See you in the next video. See you later.
