5 Essential Steps Before Rigging Your VTuber Model
60sBeginners need a checklist to avoid mistakes, making this a must-watch.
▶ Play ClipThis tutorial guides viewers through the essential steps of setting up a Live2D Cubism file for rigging a 2D VTuber model from the torso up. The creator, Sapphire, emphasizes that these foundational steps should be performed before starting any new model.
The video is the first part of a series on rigging a half-body 2D VTuber model. For those who haven't prepared their art files, there's a linked video on how to organize Photoshop layers.
Go to the Live2D website to download the trial version (42-day trial) or purchase a license. Click 'download' after checking the agreement box, then install the editor.
In Live2D Cubism, go to File > New Model. Set canvas size to 3000x3065 pixels. Then drag and drop the Photoshop file into Live2D, selecting 'All layers as a new art mesh'.
Assign each layer (e.g., eyebrows, bangs, ears) to the corresponding parts folder in Live2D. For example, put eye layers under the 'eyeball' part. Use the sample model (Hiyori) to check assignments.
Adjust the draw order (similar to layers in Photoshop) so elements appear in the correct depth order. Higher draw number = on top. For example, put bangs above hair back.
Create a mesh for every piece using 'Auto' meshing (select all, click auto, standard) for speed, or manually draw triangles. Triangles should be as even as possible. This is like adding bones for 2D movement.
Select all (Ctrl+A) and go to Edit Texture Atlas (Ctrl+T). Choose a suitable size (e.g., 4096x4096) so all pieces fit at 100% scale without overlapping. Arrange pieces to avoid overlap and click OK.
Ensure nothing overlaps in the atlas. Adjust piece sizes if needed. Then click OK to generate. The model is now ready for rigging.
By following these five steps—creating a file, assigning parts, setting draw order, creating meshes, and generating a texture atlas—you set up your Live2D model correctly and are ready to begin rigging in the next tutorial.
"The title accurately describes the content: a comprehensive guide for setting up a Live2D file for a VTuber model, and it is clearly part of a series."
What are the five essential steps to set up a Live2D model file before rigging?
1. Create a new model file in Live2D. 2. Organize and assign parts to layers. 3. Set draw order. 4. Create meshes for each piece. 5. Generate a texture atlas.
16:37
What is the recommended Photoshop file canvas size for a half-body VTuber model?
3000 pixels by 3065 pixels.
2:47
How do you import a Photoshop file into Live2D Cubism?
Drag and drop the .psd file into the Live2D window and select 'All layers as a new art mesh'.
3:40
What is the purpose of assigning parts to layers in Live2D?
It organizes the model's components into logical groups (e.g., hair, eyes) so they can be animated correctly.
4:40
What does the 'mesh' in Live2D allow you to do?
It allows the piece to move and deform, similar to adding bones in 3D modeling.
13:40
What is the hotkey to edit the texture atlas in Live2D Cubism?
Ctrl+T.
14:09
What should you check after generating a texture atlas?
Ensure that no pieces are overlapping and that all pieces are at 100% scale.
15:23
What is the difference between auto-meshing and custom meshing?
Auto-meshing quickly creates a mesh for every piece, while custom meshing allows you to manually draw triangles for more control and evenness.

Downloading Live2D Cubism
This is the first practical step for any viewer wanting to start rigging a VTuber model.
0:59Organizing and Assigning Parts
Proper part assignment is crucial for the model to work correctly and is a routine step for every model.
4:38Creating Meshes
Meshes are the core element that allows 2D pieces to move, analog to 3D bones.
11:28Summary of Essential Setup Steps
Provides a clear, repeatable checklist for setting up any Live2D model before rigging.
16:37[00:00] hello welcome and everyone this is
[00:01] sapphire and today we're going to be
[00:03] learning how to
[00:04] rig a 2d model in live 2d cubism this is
[00:07] going to be the first part of a
[00:08] long series of how to basically rig a
[00:10] half body from torso about the hip slash
[00:13] torso up for a 2d
[00:14] youtuber if you have not done the art
[00:16] for your vtuber yet or you're still
[00:18] trying to figure out how to organize the
[00:19] photoshop layer files go ahead and click
[00:21] this video i will leave down below
[00:22] on how to do that or you can click the
[00:24] card up above this first part is going
[00:26] to be how to set up your file in live 2d
[00:28] cubism so it's going to be all the
[00:29] basics and all the essentials that you
[00:31] will do
[00:31] before every single model that you start
[00:33] on live tv cubism so i would highly
[00:35] recommend if you don't have one already
[00:37] get a piece of paper and a pencil and
[00:38] write down these steps i'm going to have
[00:40] them up in the
[00:41] corner for you to see what step we're on
[00:42] and what we're doing and they'll also be
[00:44] marked in the chapters down below but
[00:45] these steps are essential every time
[00:47] before
[00:47] you start your model before you start
[00:49] rigging so that's what we're focusing on
[00:51] we will not do rigging quite yet in this
[00:53] section but we are going to set up our
[00:54] file and then the next video we will
[00:56] start working on
[00:57] rigging all right let's go you're gonna
[00:59] want to go to live 2d cubism i will drop
[01:02] this link down below this is the website
[01:03] and you want to download the trial
[01:05] version
[01:05] if you have not done this already you
[01:07] could also buy it
[01:08] i think i pay about 20 to 30 usd per
[01:12] month you can buy a full year license if
[01:14] you already went through your trial but
[01:15] you should have 42 days worth of trial
[01:17] if you don't
[01:17] so you will go ahead and download this
[01:19] in order to gain access to the downloads
[01:22] you're going to have to check this box
[01:23] here and then you can download if you
[01:24] have mac or windows or whatever
[01:26] you use so i'm just going to download
[01:27] windows and the exe should download and
[01:29] once that's good to go we'll click that
[01:31] so it will open up we're going to go
[01:33] next
[01:34] i agree and go ahead and download it
[01:36] where you want it to be
[01:37] you're going to click live 2d cubism
[01:39] editor and it should launch up
[01:40] awesome so we are going to talk about
[01:42] the essential parts
[01:44] to setting up a live 2d file again you
[01:46] want to do this before every single
[01:48] moddy model that you do or if you bring
[01:50] the file in new you'll have to do it as
[01:52] well again if you're using photoshop it
[01:53] should
[01:54] update if you drag your photoshop file
[01:56] and it should update all the layers and
[01:57] everything automatically and keep track
[01:59] of that as for other programs like
[02:01] fire alpaca or paint tool sci or
[02:04] krita i'm not sure if those actually
[02:06] work with live 2d i've talked to a few
[02:08] people already about it and as far as i
[02:10] know i'm not sure which our programs
[02:11] actually do work with live 2d but i do
[02:13] know that photoshop works so if you
[02:15] end up making a model in another program
[02:18] and
[02:18] you don't have photoshop see if you have
[02:19] a friend with photoshop and you can send
[02:21] them all your layers and have them
[02:22] organize it and then send you back the
[02:24] photoshop file to drag into live2d
[02:26] otherwise you can test to see if your
[02:27] art program file works i'm not sure and
[02:29] i will not be able to help you with that
[02:30] because i do not use those programs i
[02:32] will be doing this based off of
[02:33] photoshop so step number one is to
[02:35] create a file
[02:37] for the model so we're just gonna go
[02:38] over to file
[02:40] new so what i'm gonna do is i will go
[02:43] back so i can show you
[02:44] to my photoshop file here and for those
[02:46] who are wondering
[02:47] what size to make your photoshop file i
[02:49] did 3000 pixels by 3065 pixels so i'm
[02:53] just going to write that out here so you
[02:54] can see it
[02:55] be sure that it's pixels so mine's about
[02:57] this again
[02:58] it doesn't matter too much but i found
[03:00] this to be a good size for me
[03:01] works well and if you want to make a
[03:03] bigger full body model you could
[03:04] probably just
[03:05] start with that and then expand the
[03:06] canvas down here with your crop tool you
[03:08] could sort of open that
[03:09] down and work on the other ends but
[03:11] that's what i got for this so we're
[03:12] going to go to file
[03:13] export or not export sorry save as save
[03:15] to my computer
[03:16] and i'm just going to save it as my
[03:18] photoshop file on my desktop i'm going
[03:20] to click save
[03:20] okay so as i was saying earlier you go
[03:22] to file new model
[03:24] then you can go down to canvas settings
[03:26] change this to
[03:27] 3 000 by 3065
[03:32] i'm going to zoom out here with my
[03:33] scroll wheel and now we got all of our
[03:34] folders here
[03:35] and what i want to do is go to wherever
[03:37] i saved that
[03:38] photoshop file and i'm going to click
[03:40] and drag and not create a new model but
[03:42] you do untitled model and at all layers
[03:45] as a new art mesh okay
[03:47] next i am going to this is it's going to
[03:50] show
[03:50] a large folder with everything in your
[03:52] photoshop file here mine is 2d size
[03:54] stargating i'm going to drop this down
[03:56] and i'm going to go ahead and turn off
[03:58] this background layer
[04:00] you can use eyeballs over here to turn
[04:02] on and off layers
[04:03] and what i'm going to also do is hold
[04:05] ctrl a to select every single thing so i
[04:07] can move it together and just move that
[04:09] down
[04:09] to the bottom and if you wanted to make
[04:11] it bigger you can also hold shift to
[04:12] keep it all the same size while dragging
[04:14] at the corner so i'm just going to
[04:15] make it as big as i think i want it all
[04:18] right and now i'm going to click ctrl
[04:19] s to save and i'm going to go on my
[04:21] desktop and actually i'll show you can
[04:23] also go here save as
[04:24] desktop and i'm going to do new folder
[04:27] saya
[04:28] star guardian 3.0 and i'm going to name
[04:31] this
[04:32] the same thing saya star guardian 3.0
[04:35] okay save
[04:36] awesome now it should be in there on my
[04:37] desktop okay so the most
[04:39] important part that we're going to be
[04:40] doing next is you're going to be
[04:41] assigning parts to
[04:43] everything on your layers on the left
[04:44] side here so we're going to want to go
[04:46] through everything from top to bottom
[04:47] you do this with every single model that
[04:49] you load into live 2d after you make the
[04:51] new model like the steps i showed you
[04:53] earlier
[04:53] and what we're going to do is go through
[04:54] everything and give them parts and i'll
[04:56] show you what that means here
[04:57] so first we're going to go to our brow
[04:59] section so i'm going to go to eyebrow
[05:00] left
[05:01] and now you want to go to part and see
[05:03] where it says part
[05:04] brow we want to this is everything
[05:06] that's within
[05:07] my folder you want to make sure you're
[05:09] assigning it to the folders that are in
[05:10] live 2d so you're going to want to
[05:11] scroll probably all the way close to the
[05:12] bottom for browsing here and i'm going
[05:13] to select browse to part so now you see
[05:16] this is in the solo folder over here
[05:17] eyebrows l so we're going to go through
[05:18] everything and assign it parts
[05:20] so same thing for eyebrow r brow i'm
[05:22] going to scroll down and put it to the
[05:24] brow folder
[05:25] in here and you can double check these
[05:26] by highlighting over them and just
[05:27] checking to make sure the part is
[05:29] correct and i'm going to do that with
[05:30] the rest of everything i'm going to
[05:32] speed up this section of the video but
[05:33] if you would like to
[05:35] see how i'm placing everything you could
[05:36] go to the bottom of this youtube video
[05:37] and slow down the playback so you can
[05:39] see what i'm doing and we will talk
[05:40] about how to make sure all your layers
[05:41] are correct after we assign parts so
[05:43] just focus on
[05:44] assigning parts to every single layer
[05:45] first all right let's go
[05:50] for the loops here i'm going to assign
[05:52] it to the bangs
[06:18] you can do full hair sides at once
[06:21] you can do the whole folder so i'm just
[06:23] going to select on the folder here
[06:24] and i am going to go down to hairside
[06:28] so i don't want anything to mess up so
[06:29] i'm just going to pull all this
[06:31] out into the main folder here and make
[06:33] sure it's all assigned to her side and
[06:35] then i'm going to delete that by
[06:36] clicking the delete key on my keyboard
[06:38] and getting rid of that folder
[06:40] for ears you're going to bring that into
[06:42] the ear section whether they're wolf
[06:43] ears if they're wolfie or semen ears if
[06:45] you have both you can put all those into
[06:46] the ear
[06:47] part another great thing that you can do
[06:49] to
[06:50] help yourself figure things out if i'm
[06:52] not explaining things clear enough to
[06:53] you is if you go to the live 2d website
[06:55] you can go to
[06:56] the download section and go to sample
[06:59] data and once you get the sample data
[07:00] you can scroll down and you can download
[07:02] one of the models they have used
[07:04] most of them are not english however
[07:06] there isn't one english version hitori
[07:08] or hiyori chan you can download
[07:10] the pro version this should say
[07:12] underscore en for english
[07:13] you can show in folder you can right
[07:15] click you can extract to hattori
[07:17] and you can open that folder and then
[07:19] you should be able to go in and click on
[07:20] that orange file and you can have it
[07:22] open up in
[07:23] your live 2d cubism if you want to open
[07:25] it directly next to it so you have two
[07:27] tabs to flip back and forth
[07:28] just open it through directly through
[07:30] live 2d so as you can see i have hattori
[07:32] pro and then i opened it here
[07:33] and now i have two tabs i can flip back
[07:35] and forth between so if you get confused
[07:37] on anything for example
[07:38] there's something that was confusing to
[07:39] me was i don't understand the eye parts
[07:41] there is an eye part
[07:43] there is eyeball and there's a regular
[07:44] eye so all the stuff should go in the
[07:46] eyeball
[07:47] root section it looks like when i'm
[07:48] looking at the sample model so when we
[07:50] go back
[07:51] we know for our eye section that we want
[07:52] to put all the stuff into the eyeball
[07:54] part of the folder so i'm going to right
[07:56] click all those and scroll down and go
[07:57] to
[07:58] eyeball
[08:03] i'm going to go back up to this
[08:07] head eyes
[08:10] and grab all my left eyes as well and
[08:12] bring those into the eyeball as well
[08:43] here we go again now we're at the chest
[08:45] i'm not exactly sure to put the chest so
[08:47] i'm gonna look in here and see
[08:48] where they put the chest in the sample
[08:50] one so it looks like the neck is with
[08:51] the neck
[08:52] i'm gonna go through here body it looks
[08:54] like collarbone anything with the chest
[08:56] is gonna go in the body section as well
[08:58] so i'm just gonna go back here and i'm
[08:59] gonna go ahead and move that to
[09:01] the body
[09:11] and lastly i'm going to move the hair
[09:12] back to the
[09:14] hair back now i'm just going to double
[09:16] check all my folders up here to make
[09:18] sure
[09:19] they're empty it looks like wolf ears
[09:20] are still in wolf ears so i'm gonna have
[09:22] to move those down
[09:23] to ears again i'm just double checking
[09:26] everything
[09:27] it looks like all this stuff is good so
[09:29] what i'm gonna do is go ahead and
[09:30] collapse that folder and we should be
[09:31] done with our psd file now as you can
[09:33] see all of our layers are really messed
[09:35] up over here we want to get everything
[09:36] back on the same order and the way we're
[09:38] going to do that is we're just going to
[09:39] start going through and moving stuff to
[09:41] different draw orders so draw order is
[09:43] like layers in photoshop
[09:45] the higher the draw order then it will
[09:46] be more on top and the lower it will be
[09:48] more below or underneath
[09:50] so i'm going to go through and i'm just
[09:51] going to order stuff accordingly the
[09:52] face on the nose
[09:53] everything for that looks good i'm going
[09:55] to move forward for the eyes
[09:58] i'm going to go ahead and select all
[09:59] these and i'm going to turn
[10:01] it up to 5.8 is fine and put it on top
[10:04] for those who are wondering how i'm
[10:04] selecting all i just click one and i
[10:06] hold down shift and i click down
[10:07] to select more than one now i'm going to
[10:09] go to my eyebrows i'm going to select
[10:10] both of those
[10:11] and i'm just going to pull the draw
[10:12] order up as well and i'm probably going
[10:14] to want that a little bit up more
[10:15] just it doesn't really specifically
[10:17] matter which draw order as long as it's
[10:18] in the correct layer that you want for
[10:20] mouse we're going to select all those as
[10:21] well we're going to move the draw order
[10:23] up we might need to go back and adjust
[10:24] some of those when we're working on
[10:25] stuff later but we have
[10:26] the main section good to go i'm going to
[10:29] go ahead and move this nose
[10:30] to the nose section as well i forgot to
[10:34] do that or mess that up earlier which
[10:36] means i'm also going to want to move the
[10:37] draw order and the nose up as well
[10:39] next i'm going to go to the ears i'm
[10:40] going to select both of those those
[10:41] going to be
[10:42] we're going to keep them behind so i'll
[10:44] just pull that back a little bit
[10:45] and next we're going to go to our bangs
[10:46] so we want all of our bangs pretty far
[10:48] forward so i'm going to select all those
[10:49] move them up
[10:50] to about there i want the eyebrows to
[10:52] stay on top of the bangs her hair side
[10:54] i'm also going to select all these and
[10:55] move them up
[10:56] and for hair back i want that to go
[10:58] behind so everything
[11:00] else looks like it's pretty good i think
[11:01] i just need to grab my golden choker
[11:03] and move that on top and now we have
[11:05] everything in the correct drawing order
[11:08] again we can move stuff over if we need
[11:10] to if something's not overlapping
[11:11] correctly remember you can always go
[11:12] back and change this jaw order at any
[11:14] time
[11:14] okay so we finished organizing and
[11:16] assigning our parts if something's not
[11:17] working you can go back through and
[11:19] check and make sure that the part is
[11:20] assigned to the correct section
[11:21] and again you can use this extra file
[11:23] over here of hiyori and look at how
[11:25] things are organized if something seems
[11:27] like it's not working
[11:28] next what we want to do is create meshes
[11:30] for every single part now there are two
[11:31] different ways you can do this you can
[11:33] either do it by hand or you can just
[11:34] auto mesh everything it depends on your
[11:36] goals are you in a hurry do you want to
[11:37] get this done fast and get a quick
[11:39] version out pronto
[11:40] or do you want to take your time and
[11:43] really get everything right the first
[11:44] time around so there's two options we
[11:46] have here you can either select one
[11:47] thing at a time
[11:48] and like i selected the eyebrow and i
[11:50] can go auto this is going to create a
[11:51] mesh
[11:52] so we want to create a mesh on top of
[11:54] every single object preset i'm just
[11:55] going to do standard
[11:56] and okay there we go so this looks
[11:58] decent there's some fixes i can make
[12:00] if you want to edit things individually
[12:02] there is different guides on how you can
[12:05] set these
[12:05] up on the live 2d website you can also
[12:08] once again
[12:08] come in here and look at how how hey
[12:11] yuri is set up so i'm just going to look
[12:12] at this and
[12:13] you want to the goal here when you're
[12:15] assigning meshes
[12:16] to every single piece of your character
[12:18] is you want to make sure these triangles
[12:20] are as even as possible so there are a
[12:21] few different ways you can do this
[12:22] so you can auto mesh like i said or you
[12:24] can do a customized mesh
[12:26] i would start with an auto so you have a
[12:27] little bit of a base you can use this
[12:29] minus pen tool right here to get rid of
[12:31] things
[12:31] so i'm just going to get rid of all the
[12:33] center ones right now
[12:34] actually i'm going to get rid of all of
[12:36] it and plus what you want to do is you
[12:38] just want to sort of surround it as best
[12:39] you can
[12:40] i don't know if there's a specifically
[12:41] right or wrong way to do this but just
[12:43] do what feels right click around it
[12:45] experiment again you want to make the
[12:46] triangles as even as possible so i'm
[12:48] just guessing right now
[12:49] so i connected my main sections on the
[12:52] outside there and then you can go in
[12:53] with this brush tool
[12:54] and draw through
[12:58] so you can do something like that or you
[13:00] can again have more control over by
[13:02] using your plus
[13:03] or minus i have not used the lasso or
[13:05] the selection tool specifically but that
[13:06] could be your mesh right there if you
[13:08] want to make custom ones to really even
[13:09] out your triangles if you notice the
[13:11] auto mesh looks a little funky or a
[13:12] little messy for this one
[13:14] but again i'm just going to auto mesh
[13:15] everything for this so again remember
[13:17] you can go in and do everything
[13:18] specifically to make it as even as
[13:20] possible or you can auto mesh everything
[13:22] i'm going to auto match everything i'm
[13:23] going to hold ctrl a it's going to
[13:24] select everything or you can just select
[13:26] everything like this but control a is
[13:28] what i'm clicking and then you can go
[13:29] ahead and click auto for everything and
[13:31] go to standard
[13:32] so it'll give everything an auto mesh
[13:34] again you can see there's a lot of messy
[13:35] stuff in here you could auto mesh
[13:36] everything and then go in and fix it too
[13:38] but make sure you assign meshes this is
[13:40] what's going to allow
[13:40] your mesh to be able to move it's sort
[13:42] of like adding bones if you have ever
[13:44] done 3d modeling this is 2d's way of
[13:46] adding bones to your model
[13:48] so far we have created a model file we
[13:50] have organized and assigned our parts
[13:51] over here
[13:52] we have checked and set up our draw
[13:54] order to make sure everything is on the
[13:55] correct layer we have created a mesh now
[13:57] for every single piece here so that we
[13:59] can
[13:59] maneuver and move our pieces for when we
[14:01] start rigging lastly we're going to
[14:03] generate a texture
[14:04] and you can do this by click ctrl a to
[14:06] select everything again
[14:07] you can edit texture atlas right here or
[14:09] you can hit ctrl t
[14:10] you can do either or i'm going to hit
[14:12] ctrl t edit texture atlas i'm going to
[14:14] do
[14:14] 248 by 2048 again this is not a super
[14:17] important thing and do what's going to
[14:18] work and you'll see what i mean once we
[14:20] get in there so i'm going to click ok
[14:21] and it's going to automatically lay out
[14:22] everything you want to select everything
[14:24] and make sure it's at 100 scale here so
[14:26] it looks like this says it's at 45 scale
[14:28] i want this at a hundred percent if i do
[14:30] 100
[14:30] things are not going to fit on there so
[14:31] i'm going to exit out of this and click
[14:33] yes i'm going to go back
[14:34] and regenerate my texture atlas and i'm
[14:37] going to do something higher i'm going
[14:38] to go with 8 192. this could
[14:40] cause maybe possibly more lag or
[14:42] something so this is when you'd want to
[14:43] pay attention your resolution
[14:44] for me specifically i have a pretty good
[14:46] computer so i don't have to worry about
[14:48] that so you also want this to be taking
[14:50] up as much space as you want so i hold
[14:51] shift so nothing warps and make it
[14:53] bigger but this as you can see now is at
[14:55] scale 204 we don't want that so i'm not
[14:57] going to want to do
[14:58] the 8 000 either i'm going to go ahead
[15:00] and click this again and we're going to
[15:01] try
[15:02] a 40 96 by 4096 and see what that looks
[15:05] like so i'm going to highlight
[15:06] everything let's see what it's at we got
[15:07] it 95 scale 95 is pretty good i'm not
[15:09] going to mess with it i could bring it
[15:11] up to 100 but this is good enough for me
[15:13] now what you're doing here is you want
[15:14] to make sure that nothing is overlapping
[15:16] that's all you're going to do once you
[15:17] have the automated
[15:18] set up so go ahead and move stuff around
[15:20] you're just going to select it and move
[15:22] it you want to make sure things are not
[15:23] overlapping so just go ahead and zoom in
[15:25] look around i'm gonna hold down my
[15:28] middle mouse to move this around and
[15:29] maneuver a bit so i'm gonna move these
[15:31] pieces over a bit
[15:32] and i'm gonna speed through this again
[15:34] you just all you're doing here is making
[15:36] sure
[15:36] things are not overlapping with each
[15:37] other so make sure you pay very close
[15:39] attention to that
[15:40] and just move things accordingly if you
[15:41] want you can also scale things a little
[15:43] bit larger to take up as
[15:44] much space as possible but if you're new
[15:46] to this i would just focus on separating
[15:48] things
[15:48] so that they are not overlapping
[15:56] [Music]
[16:02] [Music]
[16:16] it looks like everything is good to go
[16:18] i'm going to then click ok
[16:20] and just let it do its thing awesome and
[16:22] now it should all
[16:23] be ready to start breaking so in the
[16:25] next video we will
[16:26] focus on bringing we're probably going
[16:28] to get the face and the eyes the nose
[16:30] and the mouth
[16:31] done for rotating and moving around and
[16:33] we'll see how far that goes and then we
[16:35] can take it to the next point after that
[16:37] awesome so we got a lot of that done
[16:39] just to go over the essentials and the
[16:40] setup one more time
[16:42] make sure your photoshop file is
[16:44] somewhere around if you're doing half
[16:45] body 3000 pixels by 3065
[16:48] one we created a file in model during
[16:51] this video
[16:51] two we organized and assigned our parts
[16:54] three
[16:54] we checked and set up the draw order to
[16:56] make sure the layers were
[16:57] going in the right direction we created
[16:59] a mesh custom or auto so you can do
[17:01] custom per
[17:02] every single piece or you can automate
[17:05] every single
[17:05] mesh and five we generated a texture
[17:08] atlas
[17:09] with ctrl t and for any extra important
[17:11] things we made sure cubism was at
[17:13] version 3.0 in the upper
[17:14] left hand corner which i actually did
[17:16] not fix this version because i had been
[17:18] doing a few different things but make
[17:19] sure your sdk is at 3.0 you can change
[17:21] it later it's fine
[17:22] that should help set up your file to get
[17:24] ready for rigging we will work on some
[17:26] rigging in the next tutorials if there's
[17:27] anything specifically you want to learn
[17:29] how to rig to feel free to leave a
[17:30] comment down below letting me know what
[17:32] you want to see read i hope this video
[17:33] is helpful
