This video reviews the Ooni rotating pizza stone accessory for the Ooni Karu 2 gas-powered pizza oven. It highlights the easy installation, the motion sensor that controls rotation, and how the accessory solves the common problem of burnt crusts in portable pizza ovens.
The presenter introduces the Ooni rotating pizza stone accessory as the coolest pizza gadget they've seen, noting it's designed for the Ooni Karu 2 oven.
The battery-powered rotating system screws into the bottom of the oven, the pizza stone sits on a rotating wheel (like a microwave), and a new circular stone locks on top with stationary cornerstone pieces.
A start-stop motion sensor is built into the base, which can be toggled with a pizza peel. This allows the stone to preheat evenly while rotating, then stop for pizza launch, and resume rotation during baking.
The rotation cooks the pizza evenly without needing manual rotation with a peel, resulting in a perfectly even bake.
Portable pizza ovens often cause burnt crusts due to limited space and proximity to flames. This accessory reduces the need for manual rotation, making it a game changer for busy users.
The presenter recalls reviewing the first Ooni six years ago and had suggested a rotating bottom piece. They praise Ooni for delivering this feature, concluding no more burning pizzas.
The Ooni rotating pizza stone accessory effectively addresses the burnt crust issue in portable pizza ovens, offering even cooking with minimal effort. It's a practical upgrade for busy home pizza makers.

01:19[00:00] This has to be the coolest pizza gadget I've ever seen. Now, I've been using the Uni Kota 2 for a while now, and it's a great gas-powered pizza oven. But recently, I got this rotating pizza stone accessory that Uni makes, and it's kind of genius.
[00:12] The install's super simple. The battery-powered rotating system screws right into the bottom of the pizza maker, and your pizza stone sits on this rotating circular wheel, very similar to how a microwave works. Then the new circular pizza stone locks right on top,
[00:25] and then it's filled in with these cornerstone pieces that stay stationary. And I think the coolest feature is that it has this start-stop motion sensor built right into the base of the system, which I can easily turn on and off with my pizza peel. So I'll heat the stone up while it's rotating
[00:38] so it preheats evenly. Then I'll stop the rotation and launch the pizza. And once it's safely on board, I'll start that rotation up again, which slowly turns the pizza throughout the entire bake, cooking the pizza nice and evenly
[00:51] without the need for any manual pizza rotation using your peel. Stop it. Look at that. Perfectly even. Oh! And these portable pizza ovens have completely changed homemade pizza making forever. Millions of people can now make restaurant quality pizza at home.
[01:05] But the biggest challenge by far with these smaller ovens is burnt crust due to the limited space. Since the pizza sits super close to the flames, there's more manual rotation of the pizza needed to avoid burning. So while this definitely takes away a little bit of the skill and fun of pizza making,
[01:19] for someone like me who's super busy, I've got kids running around, this thing is definitely a game changer. And this is me about six years ago reviewing the first ever Ooni made. What if the bottom piece rotated? Good job, Ooni. No more burning pizzas.
