[00:29] nice things I can say about the romance

[00:31] in Fragrant Flower. But I cannot accept

[00:34] how we had to get here. It is so

[00:36] unrealistic, so manufactured. I've seen

[00:39] Kdramas less dramatic than this. Let me

[00:41] show you why I'm pissed off.

[00:47] This is Kiko Private Academy, a

[00:49] prestigious all girls school described

[00:51] as a historic institution for young

[00:53] ladies where only the noblest of female

[00:56] students receive the most premium of

[00:58] education. A vast intellectual cohort

[01:00] exuding nothing but elegance and class.

[01:03] Immediately next to them is a a a

[01:07] public school.

[01:11] Chidori Public High School is apparently

[01:14] known as a bottom feeder, low-ranked

[01:16] school where all the idiots in Japan go

[01:19] together. Because, as we all know,

[01:20] anyone with a public school education

[01:22] doesn't deserve human rights. They

[01:24] should not be respected and should be

[01:25] treated like garbage every time they're

[01:27] seen in public. I hate poor people.

[01:30] Renter is one of these idiots and our

[01:32] main character. Together with his

[01:34] friends, they're constantly ridiculed by

[01:35] the girls at Kiko who can only let out

[01:38] disgusted faces from the mere sight of

[01:40] them. Literally all of them do this.

[01:42] What kind of [ __ ] cult?

[01:45] All except for one student, Waguri.

[01:49] Waguri is a girl who is as sweet as the

[01:51] cake she eats. She loves sweets so much

[01:52] she always stops by this one bakery to

[01:55] indulge in her cravings. Coincidentally,

[01:57] this bakery is owned by none other than

[01:59] Rtoro and his family. And after visiting

[02:01] so many times, Waguri has taken a liking

[02:03] to Renterro, who also likes her back.

[02:05] But when Renaro finds out that she goes

[02:07] to Kiko, he's left conflicted knowing

[02:10] the strained rivalry between the two

[02:11] schools. I just don't know why. I mean,

[02:14] I know why they have class segregation

[02:16] as a plot device because it's [ __ ]

[02:18] easy. It's lowhanging fruit. It's like

[02:20] choosing between the Allied forces and

[02:22] Nazi Germany. Who would even think to

[02:24] side with Hitler? Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. I just

[02:29] don't know why it's so dramatized and

[02:31] over the top. Seriously, the entire

[02:34] school hates the public school next door

[02:36] because of what? They're stupid. They're

[02:39] poor. You're telling me the only

[02:40] response you can pull off when seeing a

[02:42] stranger is this face? Really? You can't

[02:46] even pretend for a second to hide your

[02:47] disdain? Imagine being at a public

[02:49] school trying your best to study. Maybe

[02:52] your parents couldn't afford a nice

[02:53] school, but you still make it work. You

[02:55] bust your ass doing part-time while

[02:57] barely passing, and you think, "Well,

[02:59] it's not the best life, but at least I'm

[03:04] everyone next door is looking at you

[03:06] like you deserve to be caged for

[03:08] breathing. The problem I have is that

[03:10] they're painting Chidori as this school

[03:12] full of delinquents, and they just look

[03:13] like regular high schoolers. The main

[03:15] guy works at a bakery for Christ's sake.

[03:18] delinquents, tell them to delinquize.

[03:45] realism a lot more when it comes to this

[03:47] genre. If only they put as much thought

[03:49] into the premise as they did with the

[03:51] main couple because it's good. I like

[03:53] it. The interactions between Reno and

[03:55] Wageri are incredibly wholesome. I'd be

[03:58] sitting in my chair kicking my feet and

[03:59] [ __ ] watching this. Like, their faces

[04:02] are close to each other. The little

[04:04] moments that Ruro and Wageri have

[04:06] genuinely put a smile on my face. I felt

[04:09] like a [ __ ] therapist, though, cuz

[04:11] Rtoro would be like, "Damn, I really

[04:13] like Wageri." And she said she was

[04:15] really happy to see me. She also agreed

[04:17] to study together and wants to get to

[04:19] know me. She also said that in 20 years

[04:21] we should get married, buy a house, have

[04:23] kids, settle down, grow old together,

[04:25] and have a picnic on a hill where she

[04:26] falls from her illness and passes away.

[04:28] But her memory still lives on within me

[04:30] as our house. So I fulfill her lifelong

[04:32] dream of moving it on top of a cliff

[04:34] overlooking the waterfall. [ __ ] I think

[04:36] she just wants to say friends. Mom, what

[05:35] episode 4 is the reason why he feels so

[05:38] different, because he's actually honest

[05:40] with his feelings. Wageri is the biggest

[05:42] sweetheart of the season. This girl was

[05:44] formulated and designed to be the

[05:46] perfect romance lead. She's quirky and

[05:48] eats a lot of sweets. A so cute, right?

[05:51] Hum. She's outgoing, so she'll always

[05:53] drive the conversation. Don't even worry

[05:55] about thinking of things to talk about.

[05:57] But she's also as innocent as a puppy,

[05:59] so everyone wants to protect her,

[06:30] doesn't hide her emotions or bend to

[06:32] anyone. This is exactly why drastic

[06:36] measures must be taken. We need to

[06:38] inject some drama. This shit's too

[06:40] boring. And that drama comes in the form

[06:42] of a psychopathic best friend. Subaru is

[06:45] the guard you run the ISO on so your

[06:46] homeboy can have a shot at the main

[06:48] girl. Cuz if not, this will happen.

[06:56] literally just looked at Waguri up close

[06:59] and you freaked out like a cartoonishly

[07:01] obsessive mom. Like, if she's going to

[07:03] be pulling these moves because a guy

[07:12] hates men is because kids used to bully

[07:25] gender. I've been made fun of for being

[07:27] skinny in middle school. Can't say I was

[07:28] bullied cuz it didn't happen often, but

[07:30] sometimes this fat kid called Jack would

[07:32] bump me onto the lockers on purpose,

[07:34] calling me weak. But I never developed

[07:36] any hatred for fat people. I just

[07:38] thought Jack was a dick. And yes,

[07:40] everyone treats and reacts to trauma

[07:42] differently. But come on, her reaction

[07:44] was just too much. I can already picture

[07:46] the comments. Wow, a man telling women

[07:49] how they should react from trauma.

[07:51] Typical. Oh, so women have to act demir

[07:54] in the face of confrontation, but men

[07:56] can scream and shout as much as they

[08:23] most recent episodes. So, at least the

[08:25] characters are able to own up to their

[08:26] mistakes and communicate, which shows

[08:28] their maturity. Real [ __ ] people just

[08:30] got to start acting like the boys.

[08:32] Funny, unproatic, and surprisingly

[08:34] mature and empathetic to the emotions of

[08:36] others. I'd trade an arm and a leg for

[08:38] Kiko girls to have one of these traits.

[08:40] I'm glad the anime is starting to

[08:41] integrate the side characters into the

[08:43] story, cuz on God, I was convinced

[08:45] everyone in the show sucked except for

[08:47] the main couple. They better start

[08:48] explaining the conflict between the

[08:50] schools, too. Like I'm enjoying the

[08:52] romance between RTOR and Waguri, but

[08:54] sooner or later it's going to get

[08:55] repetitive. They need to introduce some

[08:57] new life to it. And that's what side

[08:58] characters are there for, to provide a

[09:00] different flavor to the main dish.

[09:02] Overall, I think this anime has a nice

[09:04] budding romance that never fails to make

[09:06] me giggle whenever they're together. But

[09:08] the premise is some of the most

[09:09] blatantly concocted drama that exists

[09:12] for the sole purpose of getting in

[09:14] between Renter and Wageri. It's

[09:16] literally, I love you so much, but the

[09:18] entire world is against us. modern Romeo

[09:20] and Juliet type beat. If that's your

[09:22] thing, then you should definitely check
