I am Cooper Nitecker, Film Cooper, and my channel is a lot of commentary videos on like anything pop culture, internet culture, or like relationship, anything with drama. >> And where do you get the ideas for like the next video and the video after that? >> Honestly, it's a lot of the time just like talking to friends and they're like, "Have you seen this?" And then I'm like, "No, but I got I got to look deep into
this." You are now doing content about big media that is being consumed on TV as big media. Do you think about that when you're structuring your videos now? I do think about that. I think ever since I found out that YouTube is like the top stream thing on TVs, I think about like my production value a lot and how like if I'm going to be on a TV screen, I feel like it should visually look like
I deserve to be there. So I'm like I'm shooting 4K now that I know that. So has there been any great advice that you've gotten from a creator that's helped you? Oh my gosh, I I've gotten so much good advice. My professor was like I had a professor in college who taught a semester on YouTube cuz he was like an early early days YouTuber. And all the advice that he gave me was like invaluable and I
hold it so closely to my heart in every video I make because he talked about it like it was a science and there's a method to it. And I think the biggest thing that I took away is hooking at the beginning of the video and making sure like, "Hey, you clicked on this title and thumbnail. You made the right choice." But then making sure that you respect the viewer's time. >> Yeah. And like we talk about
it as retention retention retention and engagement, but realistically it's like how much are you giving the audience? And if you start to give them less, they're going to click away. So you have to make sure that what is on screen is worthy of their time. Cuz they could be doing anything right now. You have to tell like why should they watch us? >> If they're on TV and they're choosing YouTube, they could be choosing anything. I
want to make sure that they feel like they've made the right choice.
