WoW Midnight Tips & Tricks — Step-by-Step Guide & Transcript

[00:01] hours into the expansion, there are definitely a bunch of tips, tricks, and general game knowledge things I genuinely wish I knew sooner. Some of will help you gear faster, and others are just small systems or mechanics the

[00:14] we're going to rapid-fire through some things that helped me out massively while playing, with the first one being a really awesome add-on called the Class Codex. This is an add-on I wish I found way sooner because the thing is, it's

[00:28] it's basically like having an entire WoW guide website built directly into your your character panel, it gives you pretty much everything you would normally have to tab out of game for. We're talking stat priorities, talent

[00:42] builds, hero talent setups, rotation guides, enchants, gems, consumables, trinkets, crafting priorities, best-in-slot gear, literally everything imaginable, and it automatically updates based on your spec and hero talents as

[00:56] well. What I really like about it though is how clean and convenient it is. Also, Wowhead open on a second monitor constantly alt-tabbing, it's all just built in directly into the game itself. So, if you swap from raid to mythic plus

[01:10] or delves, it instantly changes your recommendations. If you hover over a good the stats are for your spec and rank them in order. The trinket section alone is honestly really cool also because it shows you an actual tier list

[01:24] depending on the content you're doing, which is super useful in Midnight the game that has crazy interactions right now. Not only that, but if you're the built-in rotation guide will actually teach you how to play the spec

[01:38] changes depending on your talents, meaning it only shows abilities and interactions you actually have instead This might sound lazy, but one of my favorite parts also is just having quick

[01:51] consumables, and then crafting priorities tab without not having to, you know, have all these rank one parses up on a Warcraft log sheet or whatever. push Mythic Plus, or play multiple specs, I would highly recommend checking

[02:05] absolutely phenomenal. And speaking of crazy is how expensive gaming has actually gotten between full-price games, DLCs, expansions, in-game currencies, all of it just adds up crazy

[03:34] crest upgrade system actually works. Because once you understand this, gearing becomes substantially faster, and you stop wasting a ridiculous amount of resources. Once your character reaches certain overall item level

[03:46] breakpoints across all of your gear slots, you unlock achievements that let you convert lower crest into higher ones. So, once you outgrow adventure adventure into veteran. Once you outgrow veteran, you can convert veteran into

[03:59] champion, champion into hero, so on and so forth. This is why one of the biggest mistakes players make is only focusing on one or two pieces of gear instead of trying to evenly progress their character as a whole. Your goal should

[04:12] be hitting those overall item level thresholds as quickly as possible so you Personally, because of this, I've been incredibly high item level bracket and it allows me to not have to play the

[04:26] game so much because I've been storing all of my crest and just transferring it into higher item level crest through these breakpoints whenever a weekly reset happens. So, whenever that's the case, I just consume the crest currency,

[04:38] gain my rewards, and upgrade my gear instantaneously every Tuesday. Funneling crest have saved me a ton of time and resources and even headache once you understand how the system actually works. I also want to give a quick few

[04:51] knowledge in general. This isn't going to be a full gold making guide. First, make sure you loot all of the profession knowledge treasures scattered around the world. Each profession can earn 24 knowledge points from these hidden tools

[05:04] and objects in the zones. They're very quick to pick up. They give you a huge and I'll link the link down description below to find all of them on the map. Next, don't forget about the first craft

[05:16] bonus. Every time you first craft an item, you earn one profession knowledge all of this is by opening up your crafting window and using the drop down filter to show first craft bonuses, which highlights everything you haven't

[05:30] important source of knowledge are patron crafting orders. If you go to your profession crafting table and open up the crafting orders tab, you'll see a section called patron orders at the top. These are just NPC generated crafting

[05:44] orders designed to help teach you the system and reward you for crafting them. of gold, but they can also grant profession knowledge, so you want to whenever they're available throughout the week. Not only that, these patron

[05:59] crafting orders, like I said, they can give you gold in these bags that usually of them that you can put up on the auction house to sell. So, you complete these, open them up, put them on the auction house, make some extra money.

[06:12] that you earn from these crafting orders and learning skill points as well. Where if you save up 600 of them, you can turn it in for a bag of resources at your trainer, which can give you a nice chunk of gold anywhere between 7 to 10,000 a

[06:26] professions and how I can see all this very easily, I use the No Match, No Make add-on. Helps me sort of differentiate there's a couple other crafting order ones that I'll put down in the

[06:39] description below as well. On top of that, you can also buy the plus 10 profession knowledge from short renowned vendors for your professions. Gathering knowledge purchase available from the abundance vendor, and these are quick

[06:52] purchases that give a big jump early in your profession progression. Honestly, this knowledge source is by using the add-on My Use Knowledge Point Tracker. I don't know how I would be able to manage all this without it, so the add-on shows

[07:06] the game for your professions that you have, so you can track them and get exactly what you need early to get all your profession knowledge points. To be effectively, I pretty much made all of my gold I need for the rest of the

[07:20] expansion already by doing quite minimal amount of work, and I suggest you do the same. Don't forget you also have your epic crafting tools to make your crafting substantially better as well. I would say this is worth it for a few

[07:32] professions out there, like the multi-craft tailoring build or the that, it's not like mandatory in my opinion. Additionally, when it comes to earning your Fuse Vitality, don't forget you can grab three of them from the

[07:45] Fishing Anglers vendor that was added in the 0.5 patch in Zul'Aman to make things easier. And then the rest you can grab from the Abundance vendor after doing Additionally, Blizzard did just add the

[07:57] week by doing your weekly quest in Silvermoon from each profession, so that forget when it comes to making some extra gold in Midnight, one thing I think a lot of players overlook are the weekly caches tied to the open world

[08:11] events and your weekly quest in Silvermoon. These can actually add up to especially if you're farming them for reputation purposes or even on other characters like alternate characters. So, of course, you obviously have your

[08:24] weekly quest cache over in Silvermoon, but on top of that, you have all your veteran caches that you can earn inside of the world events like the Abundance, the Soiree, the little tower defense one in Void Storm, so on and so forth. These

[08:36] caches gave me a random chunk of gold and after completing these while also doing some world quests tied to gold at once, I earned about 15 to 20,000 gold in about 30-45 minutes from really not doing anything at all and not trying to

[08:50] farm gold. It's just indirectly making it. So, if you're constantly somebody crafting, doing these can easily give you enough gold to get whatever you need for like the next month straight for about half an hour of work. Now, getting

[09:03] to make your character stronger, I'm going to teach you in a matter of seconds how to properly sim your character to give you more power. All of this sounds a lot more complicated than it is. All simming means is you're using

[09:15] a program to basically test your character in a fake combat scenario to figure out what setup gives you the most damage, healing, or performance. The easiest way to do this is with an add-on called SimulationCraft

[09:28] and a website called Raid Bots. So, once you download the SimulationCraft add-on, all you do is go in game and type {slash} simc. It'll pop up a giant wall of text. You literally just copy it, go to the raidbots.com website, and paste

[09:42] that text into a section called dropomizer. This right here will allow raids, delves, pretty much any loot source in the game, and then it'll tell you exactly which content gives your your character the biggest upgrade

[09:55] possible. Now suddenly you know exactly where to spend your time and where to becomes incredibly important when you're trying to push your character pretty much to the limit and do the highest content difficulty possible, whether it

[10:07] be for mythic plus or raiding. So instead of just blindly farming random stuff and hoping it's good or just using your bonus rolls on a whim, simming lets you actually target what upgrades matter for your character specifically. I know

[10:19] trust me, once you do it one or two times it becomes incredibly easy, and wasting time farming the wrong gear. It also make it fun to try and, you know, pieces are best for your character.

[10:33] classic World of Warcraft when I was trying to farm my pre-bis items before progressing my character a whole lot more fun. So download the add-on SimulationCraft, use the raidbots website, and you will be good to go.

[10:47] cores that were added this patch, they scale to the content tied to your great vault with whatever you're doing. So if you're on a fresh new character, you get these void cores from Decimus in the void storm, and you can start rolling

[11:00] away. To start, you can enter delves and using them on tiers eight through 11 to earn some guaranteed hero track loot. Now, this isn't the best option in the game because a lot of the delve loot is quite random, whether it's good or bad,

[11:13] and all of its effects tied to it, but if it's on an alternate character that and you don't mind gearing up rather slowly and not min-maxing all the time, I would say use this just a couple times. Now, if you're looking for the

[11:26] best min-max way to get the most out of your loot, I highly recommend using these on mythic plus 10s as these will give you Mythic track loot guaranteed drops whenever you use them in dungeons. Remember, you can find your best in slot

[11:39] SimCraft method that we just showed you earlier or easily just by going into your class Codex add-on and making a list of items that fits your character's needs. You can also mark all of these

[11:51] downs in a nice little tracker for yourself in an add-on called Keystone loot and then favorite them to track exactly where you need to go for some items. There may be some scenarios where you have to go to specific dungeons like

[12:04] you can see on screen here for Skyreach that I can get both of these pieces at comes to delves, I just want to give a couple quick tips to make them substantially easier for you. Believe it or not, running delves as a DPS spec is

[12:17] kind of hard in Midnight World of Warcraft simply because of how powerful Valera can be as a companion with the right Curio setup. You can instantly run level as a tank >> [music]

[12:30] >> or a healer in Midnight if you set Valera up as a DPS and use the Sanctum's Edict as the combat Curio and the Mandate of Sacred Death as the utility Curio. This gives Valera a chance to literally one-shot enemies and the more

[12:44] enemies she defeats, the more damage she will deal. Meaning that eventually she enemies instantaneously and dealing hundreds of thousands of DPS per second. and heal her or just face tank all the mobs on your character. You can see here

[12:58] literally going around one-shotting elite boss mobs entirely on her own while I'm practically AFK sitting back just healing her. Not only that, she can also handle the final bosses for you pretty much on her own as well and it

[13:12] and you can get tier 11 bountiful delves done in about 5 to 10 minutes time. Not journey ranked up enough, you have a chance at earning hero track loot every time you do a tier 11 delve as well and you can even purchase champion or hero

[13:27] track loot at the end also. So, between the bonus loot rolls giving you hero end giving you champion loot, the chance at earning hero track loot, and the vendor purchasable loot, as well as the guaranteed hero piece from every

[13:41] bountiful map you use once per week, you can get an absolutely insane amount of loot just from delves almost instantaneously right when you hit max level if you're a tank or healer. This is by far the fastest way to gear up if

[13:54] 10s to farm out that mythic track loot with your bonus rolls, and honestly, I you're trying to speed run. Additionally, if you care about making there are a couple profession setups you can go that can make this quite worth

[14:09] tailoring, and this is going to be the cloth farming build where you invest one point into both sunfire and arcano weaving, so you have a chance to have this cloth drop from mobs, and then you put 30 points into fabric specialist,

[14:22] and then 25 points into both Eastern Kingdoms cloth, and otherworldly cloth. of delves a really good chance at dropping cloth that you can sell for a good amount of gold and make it worthwhile. Not only that, you can also

[14:35] go enchanting and become a master at disenchanting epic armor pieces. This is you don't need from delves, you have a high chance of earning a tier two dawn crystal, which can sell for easily well over a thousand gold a pop. Both of

[14:49] just want to make some gold passively and are definitely worth the small time players overlooking the potential of having the in-game built-in cooldown manager, as well as Blizzard's DBM integrated into the game. These have

[15:02] completely replaced WeakAuras for me and Deadly Boss Mods entirely, and as high-end mythic plus, I promise you you really don't need any other add-ons for both of these, you just hit escape, go

[15:16] enhancements, and from there you can enable the cooldown manager, damage meter, boss warnings, and more. It takes a minute to dabble with these settings and figure out what kind of UI you would like, but for me personally, I like to

[15:28] have all my cool down manager and debuff timers right above my character portrait on the middle left side of my screen so my eyes don't have to move too far. And then I also have my boss warnings and cool downs slightly to the left of my

[15:40] character portrait as well in a vertical drop down format as well. The reason for this is because I want my eyes to do as little work as possible when checking certain procs or mechanics or even boss warnings while also keeping myself safe

[15:52] in combat to perform the best I can. Also, just wanted to quickly go through great to have and are some of my favorite as I've been playing Midnight the last few months. The first one is called the Plater add-on and what this

[16:05] does is help highlight enemies that are very important inside of Mythic Plus and color code them for me. For example, you have your Lieutenant mobs that take extra time to kill and they're color coded in blue so I know to prioritize

[16:17] adds. the purple mobs which are highlighted to me as casters that need to be interrupted, so on and so forth. Not only that, it also shows their and everything else in a very clean, functional, and Blizzard-like UI manner.

[16:32] code, I'll have it linked in the description below as well. You also have mini overshields that help me display if I have a, you know, absorb shield on my character or a party member and I know if I'm safe or not, which is useful if

[16:45] like a discipline priest or if you're even your own class like a mage or warlock. You also have the Way Point UI add-on which makes a much cleaner looking visual Way Point to anything you have selected on your map or your screen

[16:57] ahead of you. You have the Adapt add-on which gives you a nice animated visual for your portrait on your character as well as the EPF custom skins add-on to give you a custom character portrait depending on your class spec. You could

[17:09] like and I get asked about this in the give you guys the secret sauce. But yes, guys the secret sauce. But yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is going to wrap up things out of it. There are some new things coming in the 0.7 patch in just a
