Patch 12.0.7 Revelation Scale
45sThe humorous rating scale for patch quality is relatable and engaging for WoW players.
▶ Play ClipThe video reviews World of Warcraft patch 12.0.7 'Revelations', rating its features on a humorous 'revelation scale'. It covers new zones, a talent tree system, a single-boss raid, and various quality-of-life updates, concluding the patch is solid but not groundbreaking.
Two new mini-zones accessed via a weekly rotating portal in Voidtorm. They feature world quests, events, rares, and a world boss, available in normal and heroic difficulties.
Heroic difficulty offers tougher mobs and bosses but rewards champion crests (normal) and hero gear (heroic), plus field accolades for the great vault.
A 4-week quest line rewards myth track gear (cloak, belt, wrist) from heroic world bosses, a first for open-world WoW.
A 5-week quest line unlocking a small talent tree with light/void choices. Nodes can be respecced freely out of combat, and the power persists through the Midnight expansion.
Single-boss raid against Rottmire. Drops sporefused gear at max item level per difficulty (mythic 298), no crests needed. Includes mythic flex difficulty (15-25 players).
Explores the Loa's influence on troll tribes, awarding the Tome of Kings decor item.
Mini-event helping raise baby dragonhawks, rewarding a pet called Emblein.
June 27-28 event with rewards like the Dark Spear Dasher title, rainbow troll tabard, and toy.
June 30 start. Complete timewalking dungeons for a stacking XP buff (up to 30%). 4-week achievement rewards the Vyrinoth mount. Dragonflight dungeons added to rotation.
July 7 release. Focuses on Zul'Jan and troll origins, setting up the 12.1 prologue. Only first chapter available; rest may come later.
Outdoor decor budget increased to 300 (house level 5) and 350 (level 7). Lighting added for exteriors. New decor from neighborhood vendors, including the square dyeable rug.
New difficulty tier (recommended ilvl 270+) with 6 challenges. Provides solo-farmable myth crests (uncapped on PTR). New achievement 'Ritual Breaker' for completing all sites with 8 challenges.
No durability damage from combat events. XP buffs for levels 80-90 from various activities. Abundance now uses up to 8 shards of Dun Dun.
Patch 12.0.7 offers solid content with heroic world tiers, myth track gear from open world, and a single-boss raid, but the Omnium Folio and staggered story chapters may leave some wanting more. Overall, it's a decent update with potential.

[00:06] >> Hello internet, Talson here and today we
[00:09] are talking Revelations World of
[00:11] Warcraft patch 12.0.7
[00:15] which is going live on Tuesday June the
[00:16] 16th in NA and Wednesday June the 17th
[00:19] in EU. And the question we're all asking
[00:23] is where does this new patch rank on the
[00:26] scale of alltime great revelations? If
[00:29] the new scary movie isn't that great, is
[00:32] an unsurprising obvious one on the scale
[00:34] and Kat and Zo Slater is a shocking
[00:37] lifechanging 10.
[00:38] >> You can't tell ME WHAT TO DO. YOU AIN'T
[00:40] MY MOTHER.
[00:42] >> YES, I AM.
[00:45] >> Then where does 12.0.7
[00:47] rank on this scale? Let's find out as we
[00:50] get our heads around the patch and
[00:52] everything in it in your definitive
[00:54] 12.0.7
[00:56] Revelations Guide. Okay. Go, go, go, go,
[00:59] go, go, go, go, go, go. Two new zones,
[01:02] Nagtal and Val. In an effort to quell
[01:04] the seemingly endless void invaders,
[01:06] still launching void assaults and
[01:08] causing trouble in ritual sites. Uh, you
[01:11] have been fighting off all the endless
[01:12] void invaders in void assaults and
[01:14] ritual sites. Yeah, please tell me
[01:16] someone is still fighting them off. In
[01:17] 12.0.7, we travel through a freshly open
[01:19] portal in Voidtorm to two whole new mini
[01:23] zones. Natal is blooming with fungy and
[01:25] fun guys and has been occupied by a
[01:28] hostile faction of the Atherealss known
[01:30] as the Halhadar led by the Nexus captain
[01:33] Lethia. And I know you've never really
[01:35] heard of the Halhadar before, but trust
[01:37] me, they are the baddest Atherealss, the
[01:39] absolute worst. Val, on the other hand,
[01:41] is a frozen world once conquered by the
[01:43] Burning Legion, but which is now home to
[01:45] the power-hungry Dominar Imperator
[01:48] Pertinax and their power-hungry little
[01:50] void forces. The portal to access these
[01:52] worlds swaps destinations weekly. And
[01:55] once through, you'll find the usual
[01:56] assortment of world quests, events,
[01:59] rares, and a world boss per zone. This
[02:02] is all very cool and good, but most
[02:04] notably, these two new quest zones come
[02:06] in two difficulties: normal and heroic
[02:10] world tier. You can choose either
[02:12] difficulty right from the start, but be
[02:14] warned, heroic is considerably trickier,
[02:17] or at least it was for Everel on her
[02:18] solo hunter on the PTR. I know. Maybe
[02:20] it's not so tricky after all. Hostile
[02:22] mobs are more densely placed on top of
[02:24] being harder to down. And attempting to
[02:26] solo the bosses had her easily one shot
[02:29] because of course they're world bosses.
[02:30] Don't try and solo them. But there is an
[02:32] upside to this increase in difficulty.
[02:34] And that is of course an increase in
[02:36] rewards. Normal world quests and rares
[02:39] in these two zones drop champion crests.
[02:42] Sorry. Sorry. There must be someone who
[02:45] still needs champion crests. And for
[02:47] you, I'm very, very happy. I'm happy for
[02:48] you that you can get them now in these
[02:50] zones. While on heroic difficulty, they
[02:52] drop No, go on. Take a guess. Guess
[02:54] which. Yeah, heroic quests. You'll also
[02:56] have the chance to earn even more field
[02:58] accolades. Yay. Which you can spend back
[03:01] at the umbil base camp. Completing the
[03:03] weekly showdown quest will unlock a slot
[03:05] on the great vault world tier, as well
[03:07] as rewarding a rift stalker's cash
[03:09] containing field accolades, coffee
[03:11] shards, gear, and gold. You'll also find
[03:14] a 4-week quest line here called Knocking
[03:17] Off the Top, which requires gathering
[03:19] four void commanders emblems from the
[03:21] world bosses on heroic tier, and which
[03:23] will reward you with a cloak, belt, or
[03:25] wrist piece at mythic item level. This
[03:28] is the first time WoW players will be
[03:30] able to get myth track gear from openw
[03:32] world content, which is a pretty big
[03:34] deal. And if you miss a week, don't
[03:36] stress because the weekly quests for the
[03:38] zones will offer up the items needed as
[03:40] a catch-up mechanic. Speaking of
[03:41] rewards, rare creatures and elites will
[03:44] have a chance to drop light themed
[03:45] housing decor and void recolored
[03:48] transmogs. And you'll also have the
[03:49] chance to buy them from your local
[03:51] Umbreal base camp for a combination of
[03:52] field accolades and void light mall. All
[03:55] in all, these are fun little zones to
[03:57] run around in and grind for currency.
[03:59] Operative words being run around here
[04:02] because they are of course no flying
[04:05] zones. But you will receive a light veil
[04:08] recall beacon toy early on in the quest
[04:10] line that will take you back to your
[04:11] base camp on a 15minute cool down. And
[04:14] for characters under level 90, world
[04:16] quests, events, and rares will serve
[04:18] extra XP rewards as well, which is nice.
[04:20] And if you're looking to gear up, then
[04:22] Maron Silverwing back in Silver Moon
[04:24] City will be dishing out new gear caches
[04:27] with warbound champion gear boxes.
[04:30] Sorry. Look, someone's going to be
[04:31] really happy about those champion gear
[04:33] boxes, okay? for specific slots costing
[04:35] 100 field accolades and slot specific
[04:38] hero gear boxes costing a cool 750 field
[04:42] accolades. Nate, Tal, and Val might be
[04:44] full of the kind of content and rewards
[04:46] we would expect from a 7 patch, but the
[04:48] new zones are interesting and the heroic
[04:50] world tier potentially revolutionary. So
[04:53] on the revelation scale, we rate them
[04:56] about the same as a surprisingly
[04:58] wellresented Popeye's burger. The Omnium
[05:01] Folio. Ah, the Omnium Folio. Our beloved
[05:05] so-called borrowed power system dour
[05:08] dupach. Whatever. The Omnom Nom nom nom
[05:11] nom folio is effectively a content nerf
[05:13] in the form of a fiveweek quest line
[05:15] based around helping magesters Umbrich
[05:17] and Romath in restoring the sunstrider
[05:20] Omnium, an ancient relic that can tap
[05:22] into all schools of magic like Madan.
[05:26] What? Sorry, who? No, I don't know who
[05:27] that is. I don't know why you even
[05:28] mentioned him. and which will imbue you
[05:30] with said powers as you gradually unlock
[05:33] it. The Omnonfolio is a talent tree.
[05:36] Okay, let's call it a branch. Okay,
[05:37] fine. Let's call it a twig which you can
[05:39] progress once per week after completing
[05:41] various tasks for Rombrich Umbrath. The
[05:44] weekly seeking knowledge quest line will
[05:46] look like this. Week one is simply the
[05:48] setup and after doing some intro quests,
[05:50] you will be given an empowering moat for
[05:52] the first choice on your tree. Do you
[05:54] want to go void or do you want to go
[05:56] light? These are the kind of big
[05:57] important choices we're talking in the
[05:58] Omnom Nomf Folio. Week two requires you
[06:01] to collect eight items that drop from
[06:03] bosses and mini bosses in a ritual site.
[06:06] And because there are eight of them, all
[06:08] you'll need to complete is one ritual
[06:10] site. Week three requires collecting
[06:12] five items that drop from the completion
[06:14] of void assaults out in the world. Week
[06:16] four requires defeating a delve dungeon
[06:19] or raid boss. And week five finally has
[06:22] you downing a world boss in either
[06:24] Nadtal or Val. At the node choices and
[06:28] the Omnium Folio are fine on the PTR.
[06:31] They have not been entirely testable,
[06:32] but once it's live, you will no doubt be
[06:34] able to consult Wowhead for the optimum
[06:36] choices pertaining to your class and
[06:38] spec. And nodes can be changed at any
[06:40] time out of combat. So there's no
[06:42] punishment for a little experimentation
[06:44] should you like. And while it's not
[06:45] particularly exciting, the Omnon Folio
[06:48] is nice in that it doesn't take up a
[06:50] precious gear slot, and the power gained
[06:52] from it will persist through the
[06:53] entirety of Midnight. So, on the
[06:55] Revelation scale, we rate it about the
[06:58] same as that time you found out that WoW
[07:00] gold seller Steve Bannon was best mates
[07:02] with Jeffrey Epstein. Utterly
[07:04] unsurprising, but weirdly vindicating at
[07:06] the same time. New raid, Sporefall.
[07:09] Raiders, you have not been forgotten.
[07:12] Midnight's fourth raid arrives in 12.0.7
[07:16] in the form of Sporefall, a single boss
[07:19] face off against Rottmire, the adorable
[07:21] giant fungal guy you may have seen
[07:23] hanging around the grudge pit in
[07:24] Harendar. He's adorable, right? Rottme
[07:26] drops gear in the same tier as our other
[07:28] midnight raids, but with the addition of
[07:30] being sporefused, which means that they
[07:33] drop at the maximum item level for each
[07:35] difficulty, with myth gear dropping at a
[07:38] whopping 298.
[07:40] No crests required. And thank goodness
[07:43] cuz I bet you're all really low on
[07:44] crests right now. Yeah. Sporeful will be
[07:46] available on the usual raidfinder,
[07:48] normal, heroic, and mythic difficulties,
[07:51] but it will also of course have the
[07:52] addition of mythic flex. I could hear
[07:56] Immortalis Argent Dawn EU. Yay. And any
[07:59] other guild who's ever got stuck on 19
[08:01] signups for mythic raid knight cheering
[08:03] from all the way over here. Mythic flex
[08:05] difficulty will scale dynamically for
[08:07] groups between 15 to 25 players. Throw
[08:10] some decimus bonus roles in there and
[08:12] myth track gearing in WoW has never been
[08:15] easier. On the revelations scale, the
[08:18] return of mini raids in between the main
[08:19] event ranks on the same sort of level as
[08:22] Brendan Fraser being in movies again.
[08:24] Not exactly world changing, but you're
[08:25] just really glad he still exists and is
[08:27] back and doing okay, you know. New law
[08:30] walking. Learn about the lower. The new
[08:32] zones, Omnium Folio and Sporefall are of
[08:35] course the headlines here, but there's
[08:36] still plenty to keep you busy in 12.0.7.
[08:39] For law completionists, apprentice law
[08:41] walker Ley will be offering a new law
[08:44] walking path or um lower walking path.
[08:47] This new chapter explores the influence
[08:49] of the lower on the Xandelari, Drakari,
[08:51] Gurabashi, and Dark Spear tribes.
[08:53] Completing this chapter awards the tome
[08:55] of kings decor item and of course a
[08:57] wealth of knowledge and insight into the
[09:00] lower and troll culture that might just
[09:03] might I don't know be kind of useful in
[09:05] some upcoming quests. We also have a new
[09:07] mini event in the form of hatching
[09:09] Janali's eggs. Sorry. This is a nice bit
[09:12] of local world building which has us
[09:14] aiding lower speaker Breck with caring
[09:17] for the fire lowower's clutch, raising
[09:18] some baby dragon hawks, and even taking
[09:20] one called Emblein home as a pet.
[09:23] Revelation ranking like finding out
[09:24] sipping pickle juice is surprisingly
[09:26] good for you. Makes you smile even
[09:28] though you'll probably actually never do
[09:29] it. New micro holiday, the Dark Spear
[09:32] Dash. Now this, my friends, is where we
[09:34] get our calendars out. Get them out for
[09:36] the lads. Come on. On June 27th and
[09:38] 28th, the very first officially
[09:41] sanctioned Dark Spear Dash will take
[09:44] place. An event drawing on the annual
[09:46] community organized Running of the
[09:47] Trolls Pride event, which has been going
[09:49] on for 12 years now. It's like pride but
[09:53] with rewards. So even better. Runners
[09:55] can earn the dark spear dasher title, a
[09:58] rainbow troll tabard, the troll scroll
[10:00] of rainbow roll toy, and maybe even
[10:03] more. Check it out. And also check out
[10:05] the original running of the trolls event
[10:06] organized by Warcraft cares. Revelation
[10:09] rating like actually listening to the
[10:11] lyrics of a rage against the machine
[10:13] song. As in all the worst people in the
[10:15] world suddenly very angry about
[10:17] something that's always been there. Hey
[10:19] team, Evel here. Have you ever had a
[10:22] brilliant idea and thought, "Yes, this

[11:54] andel. Turbulent timeways. Next up in
[11:57] our diaries, we have the return of
[11:59] turbulent timeways kicking off on June
[12:02] the 30th. In case this is your first.7
[12:05] rodeo, Turbulent Timeways has you
[12:07] completing timewalking dungeons for a
[12:09] stacking XP buff that caps out at 30%,
[12:13] granting you the mastery of timeways
[12:15] buff after completing four time walking
[12:17] dungeons per week. Carrying this buff
[12:19] through four weeks, which is 16 time
[12:22] walking dungeons in total. You'll be
[12:23] rewarded with the mastery of turbulent
[12:26] timeways five achievement. And with this
[12:29] extra spicy, extra icy, extra nicy spawn
[12:32] of Virinoth mount. While it was
[12:34] previously reported that the mastery of
[12:36] the timeways buff was accountwide, this
[12:38] is no longer the case and you'll need to
[12:40] complete the entire achievement on one
[12:42] character as usual. Sorry, but that
[12:44] shouldn't be an issue for you because
[12:46] dragonfly dungeons have joined the time
[12:48] walking rotation, which is doing some
[12:50] strange things to my brain because
[12:51] surely it's like way too soon. Legion
[12:54] only happened five years ago and
[12:56] Dragonfly happened like last year or
[12:58] something, right? Anyway, delve into
[13:00] Algathar Academy again again. Halls of
[13:02] Infusion, Ntharius, Ruby Life Pools, the
[13:05] Azer Vault, and Brackenhide Hollow to
[13:07] build up your cash of time warp badges
[13:10] for the opportunity to blow them all on
[13:11] new goodies, including the liquid hot
[13:14] magma slug and black furred bounts, toy
[13:17] that sets the sky on fire, this sick
[13:20] druid of the flame transmog, and some
[13:22] other honestly really nice dragonflyy
[13:24] transmogs and sets. sitting nicely on
[13:27] the revelation scale next to National
[13:29] Doughut Day. Happens every year. You
[13:31] know, it's a bit of a con, but
[13:33] absolutely a guilty pleasure, even if
[13:35] you do feel a bit sick afterwards. New
[13:37] story chapter, Zuul Jan. Then, finally,
[13:40] on July the 7th, we get something that
[13:43] would probably be the headline feature
[13:45] for quite a few players if it weren't
[13:47] buried in July. A new story chapter.
[13:50] This one focusing on Zuljan and the
[13:52] trolls and maybe even the whole
[13:55] revelations thing this patch has been
[13:57] named after. I'm not going to go through
[13:58] it in detail here because I want you to
[14:00] play it yourself and enjoy this new
[14:01] chapter in the Midnight campaign without
[14:03] spoilers. But in short, you'll join
[14:06] Zujan and his uncle Kinduru on a journey
[14:08] into the origins of the Armani trolls
[14:11] and get a glimpse of just how far Zujan
[14:13] will go for his people. I'm going to
[14:15] leave it there, but suffice to say, it's
[14:17] actually really good and sets the stage
[14:19] for some really exciting stuff coming
[14:21] up. On top of all that, this Sjan story
[14:23] line is very clearly signposted as the
[14:26] first chapter in the 12.1 prologue
[14:29] campaign, meaning it will lead us
[14:30] directly into the next big story beat in
[14:34] Midnight. But you do have to wait until
[14:35] July the 7th to start it. And this is a
[14:37] bit weird, but I currently don't know
[14:38] when you'll be able to finish it because
[14:40] when this quest hit the PTR, lots of us,
[14:43] me included, assumed that these five
[14:45] chapters here would all be available as
[14:47] part of Revelations. But no other
[14:50] chapters ever appeared for testing on
[14:52] the PTR. And actually now, everyone
[14:54] thinks that these remaining chapters
[14:56] shown may actually be part of 12.1's
[15:00] opening quest campaign, which would be
[15:02] disappointing. Who knows, maybe we'll be
[15:04] pleasantly surprised. And these other
[15:06] chapters are actually Revelations
[15:08] content opening week by week, but I
[15:10] probably wouldn't hold my breath. And
[15:12] for that reason, I'm rating this
[15:13] alongside the ending of the last Doctor
[15:15] Who series on the Revelation scale
[15:17] because like I am pretty sure the story
[15:20] is going to continue at some point. I'm
[15:22] just not sure when. New housing updates
[15:25] for the housing build. Player housing
[15:26] has some very welcome updates coming in
[15:29] 12.0.7.
[15:30] Most notably, the outdoor decor budget
[15:33] will be increasing to 300 at house level
[15:37] 5 and 350 at house level 7. Thank you.
[15:41] That means more boulders, more trees,
[15:43] more everything, including more
[15:45] lighting. Yes, lighting has been given
[15:48] the green light for housing exteriors,
[15:50] just with the slight caveat that each
[15:52] lighting decor item comes with a massive
[15:54] hit bubble, limiting how closely it can
[15:55] be placed to another source of light.
[15:56] And on top of that, loads of new decor
[15:58] will be available from neighborhood
[16:00] vendors. That's right, you don't even
[16:02] have to leave the comfort of your
[16:04] neighborhood or spend a drop of mile.
[16:06] Just some hard cold to get yourself an
[16:08] array of new furniture, fences,
[16:10] bathtubs, and the single most asked for
[16:13] piece of housing decor ever. The square
[16:16] diable rug. I repeat, the square diable
[16:19] rug is here in Revelations. This is not
[16:21] a drill. This is a drill. This is a rug.
[16:24] Obviously on the Revelation scale, this
[16:26] is up there with like if Prince Andrew
[16:28] ever went to jail. A wonderful thing and
[16:30] a great start that you're very pleased
[16:32] about, but you hope that there is still
[16:34] loads more to come. Ritual sites. I know
[16:38] what you're thinking, internet. You're
[16:39] thinking, "Well, yeah, that's all very
[16:40] well and good so far, Tally, but I've
[16:43] noticed that you haven't said anything
[16:44] about my favorite WoW content in the
[16:46] history of WoW, ritual sites. Where's my
[16:49] ritual sites news, Tally?" Well, good
[16:52] news. Ritual sites will be getting an
[16:54] additional difficulty tier. Tier six
[16:56] sites will be recommended for item level
[16:59] 270 plus and will require six challenges
[17:03] to be active and they will provide the
[17:05] first solo farmable source of myth dawn
[17:09] crests on the PTR. these were uncapped.
[17:12] And if they remain uncapped, then tier
[17:14] six ritual sites would allow players to
[17:16] craft multiple pieces of 285 gear
[17:19] without even touching dungeons or raids.
[17:22] Of course, tier 11 bountiful delves have
[17:24] been giving solo players myth crest
[17:26] since forever, but those were capped at
[17:27] 20 a week, meaning ritual sites have
[17:29] suddenly got a whole lot more
[17:31] interesting for a whole lot more
[17:33] players, especially in weeks three and
[17:35] six of Revelations, where a weekly quest
[17:38] to complete ritual sites with certain
[17:40] challenges selected will also reward a
[17:42] bonus on top of the two that our
[17:44] tiny-headed friend Desimus gives you
[17:46] just for turning up. And I know you
[17:48] don't want me to stop talking about
[17:49] ritual sites because you love them so
[17:51] much. So, here's a new achievement.
[17:52] Complete each ritual site at tier six
[17:55] with all eight challenges active to
[17:57] receive the ritual breaker title. Okay,
[18:00] that's it for ritual sites now. Sorry.
[18:01] On the revelation scale, this is like
[18:03] your friend telling you that person of
[18:05] interest gets really good in season 4. I
[18:07] promise. Just just keep going. And in
[18:10] other news, some players will see a
[18:12] reduction in those astronomical repair
[18:15] bills as devs have confirmed that
[18:17] weapons and armor will no longer take
[18:19] durability damage from combat events
[18:21] like attacking and blocking. Hooray!
[18:24] There are huge experience buffs coming
[18:26] for levels 80 to 90. First time midnight
[18:29] delve and dungeon quests, prey hunts,
[18:31] weekly renown activities like Salathar,
[18:33] Suare and Everong, and void incursions
[18:36] have all got extra super buffed XP up
[18:39] the wazoo to encourage you to do
[18:40] something other than run the same four
[18:42] dungeons over and over again for
[18:43] leveling. But don't just take my word
[18:45] for it. Bellar says this XP change has
[18:47] just save patch 12.0.7.
[18:50] My goodness, it's rebalanced entirely,
[18:53] which no, but it's good. I'm glad
[18:56] they've done it. I like this. And the
[18:58] change to abundance that we all wanted
[19:00] to see. No. Okay, not that one. In
[19:03] Revelation, you will be able to spend up
[19:05] to eight shards of Dun Dun in one
[19:08] abundant harvest, saving you time, but
[19:11] alas, not sanity. And there you have it.
[19:13] Barring any big surprises, that is
[19:15] pretty much everything coming your way
[19:16] in patch 12.0.7,
[19:18] Revelations. I don't know about you, but
[19:21] I feel like I have plenty to sink my
[19:22] teeth into here. And as a whole,
[19:24] Revelations isn't exactly the Kaiser. So
[19:27] of revelations, but it's solid and has
[19:29] potential. Definitely not a Ray is
[19:31] Palpatines's granddaughter disaster kind
[19:33] of revelation. It's just kind of neat if
[19:35] you like that kind of thing. But what do
[19:37] you think? Will you be coming back for
[19:39] 12.0.7? Will you dutifully grind for
[19:42] Umbreick and Romath on a weekly basis?
[19:44] Or will you just pop back before 12.1
[19:46] and max it all out in one go? Will you
[19:48] be making the most of readily acquirable
[19:50] myth track gear and myth crests? or will
[19:52] you just recreate the Sistine Chapel
[19:54] using square dyable rugs? Let us know in
[19:57] the comments below. And thank you for

[20:07] patrons, thank you. Because without you,
[20:09] there would be a whole lot less Talas
[20:11] and Neverel. If you didn't like it, down
[20:13] vote the [ __ ] out of it. And remember,
[20:15] my name is Dun done. No, I'm Talasin
[20:18] from me and Everel, too. Until next
[20:21] time cheerio.
