Create Instagram Posts in Canva — Step-by-Step Guide & Transcript

[00:00] How to create Canva Instagram post. Hey guys, welcome. In this video, I'm going to show you how you can create very cool looking and professional Instagram posts using Canva for free.

[00:12] So let's get into it. First of all, what you guys need to do is you can go to Canva.com and you will land on this platform right here. Canva is an online designing tool that allows you to create presentations, edit videos, create logos and much more.

[00:26] We can also create our Facebook and Instagram posts with Canva. We can even create TikToks using Canva.com. It has really cool effects, stickers, and backgrounds that we can add to spice up our Instagram feed.

[00:41] So let me show you how we do that, how I create these statically pleasing and very cool Instagram posts using Canva. So let's actually get into it. Once you get to Canva.com, you need to actually sign up first.

[00:53] you can sign up with your google account or email address for free i have already signed up this is why i am seeing this dashboard now what we can do is we can explore different layouts that are already given on canva or what i can do is i can actually search for an instagram post template

[01:10] here so what i'm going to do is i'm going to go for instagram post so also instagram we can go for a different type of post we can go for an instagram view we can also create instagram stories

[01:23] Let's go for a simple Instagram post, which is going to be 180 by 180. So we have different templates available here to create. You can see if you want to create an ad for Insta, we have this really cool, you know, post template here that I can go for.

[01:40] Then we can use this one might be this one is for the images. Most of them are for professional Instagram posts that we can go for. So I actually want to create something for my, you know, business as well.

[01:54] And I will be creating a post, a personal post too. So we can start from the blank too. That's what I'm going to do. We're going to select the blank canvas and it will take us right here. This is the layout for Instagram post You can see on Canva we have design elements upload text projects audio and more So the first thing that you need to do is you going to go to the upload option right here and upload the image or the video you want to add to your post So I have added this image right here

[02:20] You can see this is the image that I want to work on. So we can actually drag and drop the image completely right here to adjust in the background. I can do that. We can right click and click on set as background. So this can be a simple post that I can add but I don't want to do that.

[02:35] I want to spice things up a little bit and create a very professional post. In elements, we will be able to find different frames. So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to actually go to the frame option right here. We're going to scroll down a little bit to the frames.

[02:48] In frames, you will be able to find a bunch of different frames to add. So what I want to do is I want to go for something like this. So that's what I'm going to do. Let's get this frame here.

[03:00] so once the frame is added let's first adjust the frame and then we will add the image so i want the frame to be like in the center like so and now i will get my image and drop it here double click

[03:15] to adjust and i'm going to place my face here there you go so this is what it looks like you can see the image the background is white and i want to change that so we're going to go here and you can see it's giving me some photo colors that i can go for and i'm going to select this one

[03:29] so this is what it looks like now moving on what i'm going to do is i'm going to go to the elements here and in elements we have different graphics we have stickers that we can add so you can see in graphics i will be able to get different kind of like gradients we have different stickers we

[03:47] have designs we have different collections where we have all of these bunch of different things we have these flowers right here these look actually pretty good so what i'm going to do because I'm going to select these sketchy stars and check out the one that I like, for instance, this one.

[04:01] And what I can do is I can add it right here on my post. So you can see if you want to create something like this, you can do that. For now, I'm not going to go with this color because I'm creating something else.

[04:13] I want something like white you know lines and graphics So that what I going to do is I going to search for a white circle like this and we going to switch to graphics so that we get a lot of cool graphics now I am getting this

[04:27] right here we have this this we have this here so this is the one that I was looking for and with this I will get these magic recommendations that will give me more things for instance we have

[04:39] this heart which looks pretty good so what I'm going to do is I'm going to go with the heart now and I'm going to place the heart right here at the bottom. Let's actually place the image a little up and here. I will add the heart.

[04:52] Now I will select the heart and change the color to white, like so. Moving on, we can add more things. For instance, we have these, you know, circles. We have like two hearts as well. And we have this text.

[05:05] Then we're getting a lot of different things. So this way, I can add a bunch of different elements to create an Instagram post. So this is like a simple post that I can add to Instagram, which is going to look pretty cool. I can also add text.

[05:18] So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to add the text now. To create text, I'm going to go to text here, and we can add a heading. And I can scroll down to get more text from here. We have all of these different fonts available.

[05:31] I can search for a very cool font that looks nice. We have this one right here, and I'm going to see how it looks. okay if i just change my text to what i wanted to add so i have added this text right here that i'm

[05:45] going to place here like this so this is a post for an introduction post for a business or something like that that's what i was looking for uh and i can add it like this now you can see the post is

[05:58] ready and i can now uh you know download the post just to create that i'm just going to click on this share option here click on share and download and we will be able to download it as png uh we have other options too but we're going to go with png we can also adjust the size here click on

[06:13] download the post will be downloaded now let me show you how to create another post for instance this time i going to use a template so because i have a business and i want to actually introduce uh my business we also have this one right here i actually wanted to show you guys For instance i wanted to go for something like this this is a pretty good post that i can go for

[06:36] so i can go to my uploads and i'm going to select my image let's actually quickly do that you can see i can add it like this and even in the background there you go you can see this post actually looks really good and what i'm going to do here is i will change it to my instagram handle

[06:54] like this and then at the bottom it says something but i'm going to delete it and we can also change this image here let's say i have the same image as profile picture so what i do is i'm just going

[07:07] to drag and drop it right here in this image there you go you can see now it's it looks really good so this is an instagram post that we can create with canva let's add another page and let me show

[07:19] you if you want to create something other than your own picture you want to create an ad for Instagram or something like that so you can use like this and we will be able to add a bunch of different images here and select our

[07:34] Adder brand name for instance I have a brand so you can see like this and now what I can do is I can add my images here to completely change the template and create a template for my business then we have something like this for the

[07:48] Instagram post. We can also create Instagram stories and videos with Canva. So you can actually do a lot. You can start from the scratch and you can upload your media here and then you will be

[08:00] able to use a lot of different elements. We have these stickers that we can add. We have different photos that we can use, free footage that is available here that we can add as backgrounds. We will be able to add lines and squares. We have different frames. We have tables. We have grids.

[08:17] you can see we have different collections so you can use any of these different tools to use in canva and create a very high quality and good looking instagram post for your instagram so
