13:50[00:01] while you talk into a camera my name is try I've been streaming since 2017 and I've been making YouTube videos for almost that long as well and hopefully you've been thinking well that Tre she looks comfor on camera because in this
[00:14] video I'm going to teach you how to look confident on camera this video is part of a series on how to become a successful twitch streamer this is how to become a successful streamer where I help you reach your full potential enjoy
[00:27] help you reach your full potential enjoy the ride subscribe to the channel to not miss anything we also do have merchandise on
[00:40] our stream smarter no harder series for example this awesome t-shirt stream example this awesome t-shirt stream smarter no harder available in multiple colors but it's awesome traveling mug they're available on the website tree.
[00:53] TV tip one to look confident on camera is to have good overlays and good graphics if your channel looks good it's a lot easier to look confident because if everything looks like it is made in Ms paint or you don't even have a
[01:06] like that you're definitely going to look less professional than somebody that has everything looking beautiful if you want some overlays and Graphics I do leave the link Down Below in the description you can also get some custom
[01:20] overlays by hiring an artist for example you can find them by going to Twitch itself browsing to the art directory a lot of people that are streaming in the art directory do also do commissions so looking there is definitely a good way
[01:33] to find people that are making things for twitch streamers but also looking on a/ Twitter I still need to call it Twitter because otherwise if I just say ax people don't understand right but looking on Ax you might find new ones as
[01:46] lot of people that are just trying to make art with AI and just claim as they made everything themselves but I think there's a difference between generating something and making something from the start from scratch yeah you generated it
[02:00] for sure you definitely did not put the effort in for hundreds of euros and hundreds of hours and somebody did make it from the start and if you see somebody make art on Twitch itself on the live stream you're definitely sure
[02:12] that's definitely a good way to verify that the art isn't AI art there's also this YouTuber Cante she's definitely debunking a lot of people that have been saying that they don't make AI art she's going over things telling you how to
[02:26] recognize AI art so definitely checking out her Channel if you want to see if something is a i art or if somebody actually made it second tip is look into the camera when you're talking yeah your Twitch chat might be here and you might
[02:40] be looking here to read your Twitch chat but if you're entering your Twitch chat you should be looking somebody in the eye so basically if you talk to somebody it's all right to look away while you're talking or just look at your hands for a
[02:53] second or I don't know just while you're talking Look Away however you need to make eye contact with with the person you're talking to that's normal in a conversation right so think about this is a person your camera is a person
[03:06] you're talking to and try to make natural eye contact with this person so this is my screen but you are the person the camera is the person we're talking to it's all right to look away from the person you're talking to but don't do
[03:19] this the whole time you need to look the person that you're talking to in the eye every now and then a really neat trick for this is I use the oato teleprompter easier because I can just use my twitch chat on this orato chel prompter and I
[03:35] have my camera right behind it so right now I'm using my script I don't use a full script but I have like bullet points so right now it says like one overlaying Graphics two look into the camera and then between brackets it says
[03:47] use alato teleprompter that's basically what it says for me on the teleprompter and I can read this while actually looking at a camera and I know where I stay on track with the things I want to talk about well even looking at you at
[04:00] the camera you are the camera you and the camera are one person but the way that the f is going to feel these things is if you look into the camera you actually going to look at them because the camera is the thing that they're
[04:12] going to view you from that's their point of view you can fix this with a lot of things so like I'm fixing this with the like a trailer prompter but you can also just get that habit of looking in it because that's what I used to do I
[04:24] used to just have my chat here and then look here when I answer things I have this habit of looking here when I answer the question another tip is having googly eyes on your camera so to have your camera be a little bit more human
[04:38] make it more of a habit to look into the camera while talking another thing that you might have noticed me doing and that is the dirting is talk with your hands to do this you don't constantly have to do it especially when you're gaming you
[04:53] your mouse and your gaming right or maybe on your controller in your gaming I'm a Nintendo switch girl and if I'm not on the Nintendo switch I still use that controller I'm I'm a Nintendo switch Pro Controller girl I'm playing
[05:06] don't attack me for that I'm not the kind of Shooters with controller person with mouse and keyboard I'm fine with that because I'm on the right on that
[05:18] Shooters are supposed to be played with mouse and keyboard but if you talk with your hands you basically more expressive you're not just talking with sounds but you're also talking with visuals you see what that you hear what I'm saying but
[05:32] you also see what I'm saying if you don't have your headphones on you can still follow somewhat along what I'm saying not completely because I'm not you know some kind of sign language person I can't I can't do sign language
[05:47] okay but you can get hints of what I'm saying for my hands then the fourth tip is practice streaming well outside of your streams what I do mean with this is when you are outside of your streams try to talk to yourself like an idiot other
[06:03] people might think that you're crazy for talking to yourself you don't have to do this when other people are around but go to your fridge grab something out of it make that entertaining when you're sitting alone in your room playing games
[06:17] try to practice talking to yourself try to make this entertaining try to make it make things into a stream try to make things into a stream so what did I mean with that try to make dinner and try to make that dinner you trying to prepare
[06:32] dinner try to make that into a stream try to see if you can entertain chat who isn't really there well making your dinner and it's all right if you can't or if it doesn't go all right because you are practicing
[06:45] it that's the whole point about practicing it is getting better at it even while you're streaming you can make mistakes and mistakes are okay because mistakes on the one hand you can learn from them if you make a mistake you can
[07:01] from them if you make a mistake you can learn to make to do them differently but on the other hand this is the internet and people like mistakes because they're silly and they're entertaining people like to be
[07:14] entertained and silly and funny things are just entertaining for example I was doing the stream where I was doing brain trainer and brain trainer is very trainer and brain trainer is very chaotic and already how can I say this
[07:27] very stressful yeah very stressful F I think that's a good word to say it and I was doing the calculating part so you need to calculate as fast as you can a couple of like math problems and then it's going to tell you how what your
[07:42] your age is in your brain and it's always going to tell you you're like 80 or something when whenever you're 28 you're still 80 in your head it's going to tell you you're you're far behind your age you're going to be old
[07:54] basically always the consensus however I was doing this well streaming so I had this extra pressure of the time pressure the pressure of it's going to tell me I'm going to be old and the third one is chat who's definitely going to judge me
[08:09] whenever I'm Mak a mistake because so we all know chat's like that and what happened is this uh 45 it's 45 come 45 it's 45 come on come on it's 45 40
[08:25] five it's 25 and instead of thinking I'm the 25 and instead of thinking I'm the biggest idiot for saying four time 5 is 45 I've actually made this into a meme it is a meme now my channel if people
[08:38] type 45 in my chat this this clip will pop up we have like the voice clip of it's 45 it's 45 you can let that go over my stream it
[08:50] became a meme you know why because people think this is funny it might be a little bit embarrassing but people think it's funny I'm also a big B believer of being yourself it's really really hard to keep
[09:04] pretending to be somebody else for me I'm I'm a bit of a tomboy I just like guys things I don't feel like I'm very feminine I mean I do like to wear a dress every now and then but I do not really wear makeup that much I do have
[09:19] really help but let's say I don't feel like very girly girly and if I would start pretending to be very girly girly I wouldn't really be myself and maybe I will get more views from it but it will
[09:33] definitely burn me out in the long run so I would say Be Yourself however if yourself is this hey guys yo
[09:46] Su I would say be the best version of yourself because you can still be the version that is the most entertaining you can be the version that is most fun
[09:59] arm people you don't want to be the version that wants to be Couch Potato because we all want to be a couch potato every now and then we all want to every now and then we all want to be bch eating one day just sitting on
[10:13] be bch eating one day just sitting on the couch and then other days we like to surround ourselves with people and have a good chat with people that person is that version of yourself out and not the couch potato version of yourself because
[10:26] I want you to be comfortable I also want you to cut out all the toxic people people that will make you feel uncomfortable and it doesn't have to be they're are going to be people breaking the rules and saying stupid things about
[10:40] you those people are obviously people that you're going to be that you're going to be banning going to make you feel uncomfortable and you don't know
[10:55] why they don't really do anything wrong but they just make you feel uncomfortable and whenever these people come in your chat you feel a little bit uncomfortable and this is the moment where you can't perform best because you
[11:08] uncomfortable so ban these people that make you feel uncomfortable because now you can be the best self again you want to be your best self then I want you to plan things that
[11:20] you can say to raids subs and follows because if you know what you can say as a reaction to a raid and sub and a follow you call over are a lot more determined you don't have to say the same thing every time but you can it
[11:34] doesn't really matter so thanks for the follow is for most people enough for subscription but you can also say welcome to the herd or welcome to the
[11:47] club you're becoming a cool be now whatever you want maybe you have a team going around you can wrap it around that team or you can just say thanks for the having something like like thanks for the raid but also having something that
[12:01] includes who you are explain a little bit about what you're doing but also explain a little bit about who you are so for example thank you so much for the ra welcome in we're playing some Paper Mario today we've just fought this
[12:15] Mario today we've just fought this amazing pass and it was so difficult but we made it true thank you so much for coming in if you don't know me my name is Stree we do a lot of Nintendo switch games I do love a good Nintendo switch
[12:28] games but I also do love playing um Indie Games indie games are totally my jam so if you like Nintendo switch games if around here and basically that's
[12:41] if you just listen to that raid reaction and you're like wait that's something I like go watch me on Twitch twitch.tv/ another thing you can do is look back at your vaults and take notes so look back at what you've done and
[12:56] take notes just grab a piece of paper and take notes of like hey what am I doing here I'm just sitting back sitting like a shrimp it doesn't look very confident if I sit up straight I look a little more confident if I smile a
[13:11] little bit more I look a lot more happy and entertaining and engaging if you notice that you're doing something wrong in a stream write them down and take these as things that you can improve next stream then here we have something
[13:25] actionable because every video I want you to do something actionable and this is going to be something actionable I want you to go back to one stream and I want you to write down notes of things that you're doing wrong and our next
[13:38] stream I want you to improve one of these notes just one doesn't have to be all of them make sure that you improve one of these notes and then I want you to be better at just one thing another thing you can do is look at other
[13:50] streamers and take notes about the things you do like so this is the opposite around about yourself you write down the things that you do not like and about others streamers you write down the things that you do like and then you
[14:02] can think can I do these things as well what do they do that makes them look super confident and I think the biggest STP would be treat the viewer as you're talking to a friend because talking to a friend is so much easier than talking to
[14:17] a stranger don't we all know that talking to your friend is so much more fun and engaging than talking to a stranger it's always so a little bit awkward you don't know what to say to a stranger but a friend you know
[14:29] we've been knowing each other for a while and you know I can't say anything wrong because you're not going to leave me because we we known each other for 10 years already one sent is wrong is not going to ruin our friendship and I think
[14:43] one sent is wrong is not going to ruin your friendship but there's so many mistakes you can make while streaming and there's so many things I did not know before I started streaming so many things that I wish I knew before I
[14:57] started streaming and therefore in the next video in the series how to become a successful stch streamer we're going to talk about the things I wish I knew when I started streaming so i' love to see you in this video right here don't
[15:10] you in this video right here don't forget to subscribe I'll see you there
