AI Summary

This video explains how creators can take control of what shows up when brands Google their name, centered on Google's Search Profile feature for eligible creators. It covers two core benefits — stronger brand deals and cross-platform discovery — plus simple SEO tactics and three practical ways to improve a creator's search presence, backed by case-study stats.

[00:17]
Two core benefits of Google visibility

Improving visibility on Google helps creators land brand deals and attract an audience through content discoverability.

[01:56]
Brands research you on Google

After discovering a creator, brands often type the creator's name into Google to do due diligence. A strong Google presence shapes that first impression.

[02:55]
Google Search Profile centralizes your brand

The Search Profile gives creators a customizable, one-page Google presence that combines socials, links, bio, and pinned posts, making it easier for brands to learn about them quickly.

[06:01]
Search Profile eligibility requirements

Creators qualify with a public profile of at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, YouTube, or X, or 300,000 followers if TikTok is their main platform.

[07:15]
Pitching works with any follower count

Creators under 10,000 followers can land brand deals through pitching. Brands look for audience alignment, genuine interest, engagement, and consistent posting.

[09:37]
Hyperlink your Search Profile instead of a media kit

Attaching files like media kits can send emails to spam. Hyperlinking your Search Profile in the pitch email is safer and shows everything at a glance.

[11:17]
Google drives cross-platform discovery

Google surfaces YouTube videos, Instagram reels, and TikTok videos in search results, helping creators grow beyond their main platform.

[12:54]
SEO simplified for creators

SEO just means creating content with the intent to be discovered on search results. The simple tactic is to search a content pillar and use platform-suggested phrases in videos and captions.

[15:04]
Three ways to optimize your Google presence

Audit what appears when you search your name in incognito, get your name into text consistently across the web, and claim/optimize assets like your website and LinkedIn bio.

[18:01]
Google's compounding payoff

Consistent Google presence brought over 150,000 views to the creator's YouTube channel this year alone and almost 1 million views lifetime.

[00:01] on Google, and how you show up on Google matters. Everyone talks about growing a personal brand, but no one talks about how Google can also have a huge impact on your brand as a creator, no matter what platform you're on. So,

[00:17] in this video, you are going to learn the two huge benefits for anyone who makes their brand more visible on Google, three quick tips that you can implement to start improving your presence on Google, and at the very end

[00:30] I want to show you the power of Google and how it has brought my channel over 150,000 views so far just this year. As always, need them, and just so you know, there's a sponsored section later in this video

[00:45] with Google talking about their Google Search profile feature specifically for wait to share with you. So, let's dive in. Let's first talk about the two benefits of improving your visibility on Google. One is being able to leverage

[01:00] brand deals, and the other is attracting an audience or content discoverability. Let's talk about each of these and how they relate to Google, starting with one of my favorite topics to talk about ever, and that is brand deals. Now, if

[01:13] you are new to the creator world, there are a few common ways that brand deals happen. Sometimes creators apply through third-party platforms. Sometimes creators pitch to brands directly, which we'll talk about in a second. And other

[01:27] times, brands discover creators and simply just like reach out to you. Now, this way is typically the goal that most creators have because it feels almost like magic. Like, I remember the first time a brand reached out to me and was

[01:41] We'd love to send you PR or some products." And I was like, "Oh my gosh, I've officially made it. I'm officially a content creator." So, how are brands finding creators? Now, each brand is different. Some brands

[01:56] might be searching for hashtags or keywords on Instagram or TikTok. Others content on YouTube. They may be finding you on third-party platforms where you have your profile set up. They could even be getting a referral from another

[02:11] brand or another creator. So, your goal is to be showing up in the right places with the right positioning. Because once brands discover you, typically the next step most of them do is jump to Google and type in your name. I mean, my team

[02:27] and I we do the same thing to brands. When a brand reaches out to us, we jump straight to Google and we look them up. We do our due diligence. And this is where your Google presence also matters and why I've been really excited to make

[02:42] this video to talk to you about Google's new search profile feature for creators. So, let me jump over to the computer so I can show you what this is and how it works. Now, what I like about this is that it gives creators a more

[02:55] centralized and customizable way to shape what people see when they search your information spread across multiple platforms and links, your search profile helps bring everything together in one place. So, your socials, your content,

[03:11] your links, your bio, you can even have pinned posts that best represents your brand making it easier for brands to quickly learn more about you when they search your name. Now, what's really cool is how customizable everything is.

[03:26] So, you can personalize your name, your profile photo, background image, pinned posts, and more so that it actually feels aligned with your personal brand and your personality. Now, something that is important to know is that your

[03:41] that is important to know is that your search profile is separate from your presence on Google search or the knowledge panel. For example, let's go knowledge panel. For example, let's go back. Here is the knowledge panel that

[03:53] shows up and the information comes across various sources across the web. across various sources across the web. And then here is the search profile and how it presents itself, how it looks. So, you could click to view the entire

[04:07] search profile looks like. So, while you can't fully control what appears in your knowledge panel, you can control your search profile, which I absolutely love

[04:20] because it creates a more polished and official presence on Google, which can especially be helpful when brands are researching creators for potential partnerships. Because if a brand looks you up on Google and quickly gets a

[04:34] clear sense of who you are, what you create, and the impact you have across platforms, it can make that first impression feel way more intentional and professional. I mean, it centralizes everything into an easy-to-share page

[04:49] instead of requiring people to click across multiple platforms to learn more about you. Now, I'll show you how to use this share feature for brand deals in a second, but to show you this in action of what like brands would have to do is

[05:03] they would have to click through all of these links before to see like, "Okay, how many followers across YouTube? How many across Instagram? What does the Instagram versus TikTok?" Whereas now, if they just view my search profile,

[05:17] literally they have everything at a glance. My Instagram, TikTok, YouTube impact, pinned posts, and then they could even sort my latest posts by my Instagram platform, by TikTok, by YouTube to see platform-specific

[05:31] content. Honestly, once I created my Google search profile, I was like, "Why didn't something exist like this sooner?" Being able to see my personal brand's impact on like a one-page official Google presence was just

[05:44] mind-blowing. And it just feels so much more legit and professional. So, once your profile is set up, brand searching your creator name may start seeing a more polished overview of your content and online presence directly on Google.

[06:01] Now, a quick note for eligibility. Currently, creators qualify if they have a public profile with at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, YouTube, or X. And if TikTok is your main platform, is 300,000 followers. So, if you are

[06:19] eligible and you want to set up yours, then you can go to creators.google/profile to check eligibility and start customizing your own search profile. And be sure to follow Google for creators on

[06:33] Instagram and YouTube for more creator updates from Google themselves. I think this is one of those things that is really smart to set up as soon as you're able to because creators are businesses now, and your online presence matters.

[06:49] Okay, so one of the ways I briefly touched on for landing brand deals is through pitching. This is when you reach out to the brand directly and land brand deals. And I wanted to circle back to this because anytime I bring up pitching

[07:02] and how to pitch to brands, I get so many questions. So, I wanted to give a many questions. So, I wanted to give a few tips in this area. First of all, you can pitch to brands no matter how many followers you have. I feel like a lot of

[07:15] they hit this certain threshold of like, pitch. But that's not the case. I've helped so many students under 10,000 followers land brand deals through pitching. Really, all a brand is looking

[07:28] for are parallels on things that are important. So, do you and the brand have a similar target audience? Will your followers genuinely be interested in that brand or their products? Are your followers engaged? Are they supportive?

[07:43] Are they commenting on your content and listening and consuming literally everything you have to say? Something else a brand is looking for is if you brands, they aren't going to want to work with creators who kind of post and

[07:57] ghost. So yes, they do look at your presence, how often you're posting, and if you've been consistently posting for a long time. When you find a brand that similar parallels with your target audience, your audiences are interested

[08:10] in the same things, and you're aligned on a lot of similar core values and pitching to a brand. Now, typically, this is the pitch template that I use and have used in the past to land brand deals. Your goal and intent with

[08:25] pitching is not to land a brand deal or get free stuff. Your goal is always to make a connection with the brand. You're making a connection, you're introducing any way that looks that's beneficial for them. You're not pitching with a selfish

[08:39] mindset of I want this, I want that. You're pitching with a service mindset of how can I help you? Let's work together to make that happen. I'll also that I had sent to a brand, one of my very first pitches that I had sent. It

[08:53] because I was like, this feels like a big deal brand. I actually own some of their products. It felt very big deal, and the pitch worked. I ended up working with the brand, creating content for them. So I want to show you a real pitch

[09:08] putting to practice what the template talks about. If you want any other pitching templates or if you want a simple copy-paste pitch template, I do will link down in the description below. A common mistake that I see a lot of

[09:21] creators make when pitching to brands is linking your media kit. So in your pitch, what I prefer doing is actually incorporating your Google search profile. What I do is I use the easy-to-share page as a hyperlink in the

[09:37] easy-to-share page as a hyperlink in the pitch email to send to brands instead of attaching a media kit. Now, the reason for this is something that not a lot of people know about, and that's because attaching a file, or like a media kit,

[09:50] that can risk your email getting sent to someone's spam folder, whereas hyperlinking within your email is all good. So, as you can see in this pitch template here, where I reference like my audience, my social media presence,

[10:05] there's a hyperlink that will take the brand directly to my Google search profile, where they can see literally everything about me at a glance, instead platforms separately. They get to see everything all at once. Not only that,

[10:21] but being able, from the brand's perspective, to see that the link is a Google link, it makes the information that they are seeing from that website something new so far, be sure to give this video a thumbs up, since it tells

[10:37] YouTube that other creators like yourself would find this video valuable, and it will help them find it a lot easier. And if you learn two new things subscribing, since it's a free way to

[10:49] support me and my channel, and it allows me to continue to create free content like this for you every single week. Now, let's talk about the second benefit of making your brand more visible on Google, and that is by attracting new

[11:03] audience, or content discovery. So, you, your content, and your profiles can all be discovered on Google. Google is the ultimate search engine, and anybody searching for something on Google, in

[11:17] search results, they can come across anyone's content, no matter what platform it's on. So, if I were to go to Google, and I look up how to become a content creator, the results there are more than blog posts. You also get

[11:32] YouTube videos, Instagram reels, TikTok videos, and that's because Google wants to show you all sorts of search results across platforms. This is actually great across platforms. This is actually great news for you as a creator because if you

[11:45] can get your content discovered on Google as well, not only are you able to to grow on. For example, let's say it's TikTok, and you get people to find you on TikTok, but you could also leverage Google results and kind of hit two birds

[12:00] with one stone where not only your content's being discovered on this one come to your platform as well. I think this is where a lot of people this is where a lot of people underestimate the power of SEO. And I

[12:12] know SEO, that phrase, can be very intimidating. The reason I know that is because for me, when I was first starting my creator journey, anytime somebody would say, "Oh, you need to use SEO. Make sure to try SEO." I

[12:26] overcomplicated it in my head, and I thought it was this really advanced strategy that only certain people could understand and figure out. And so, I just never really paid attention to it because I it sounded too intimidating

[12:39] for me. But, when I learned the practices of how to use and lean into SEO, I was like, "Oh, it's that's it? It's that simple?" For those of you who don't know, SEO stands for search engine optimization. Basically, let's forget

[12:54] the complexities and how your preconceived assumptions about like a SEO strategy. Let me break this down simply for content creators. All this is is creating content that you believe could get discovered on search results.

[13:10] create a piece of content, you're creating with intent and with the hopes that it will get discovered on Google, on YouTube, on Instagram, on TikTok, whatever platform it is you post to, you're hoping that this piece of content

[13:25] results. You don't have to do this with every single piece of content. You can content. The easiest way to do this is to go to whatever platform you are trying to grow on, type in one of your content pillars into the search bar,

[13:39] don't press search, just see what the suggested search results are under that, and make videos using those phrases. If I'm a content creator and I make content on running, and I go over to TikTok and I type in running on the search bar, if

[13:55] it says running tips, running for beginners, any phrase it suggests, I'm going to use that phrase in my upcoming videos. I'm going to put it in the text on screen, I'm going to use it in my captions, and that is it. That is my SEO

[14:09] strategy. You could take this a step further to start to rank on Google, and in addition to looking up your content pillar on the platform, look up your content pillar on Google. Same thing. What are the search suggested search

[14:22] What are the search suggested search results? Create content on those pieces, and then over time, hope that you will start ranking when people search for those things. This is honestly one of the biggest ways that I've been able to

[14:35] generate traffic to my website, my YouTube, my other platforms. At the end, I'm going to show you the actual stats of how many views just Google alone has brought to my YouTube channel this year. So, Google can be so powerful for

[14:51] So, Google can be so powerful for content creators when you lean in to how I show you that, I want to quickly touch on three ways that you could start optimizing your Google presence. The first is to audit what's already out

[15:04] there. So, look yourself up on Google right now. You can go in incognito mode, make sure you're logged out, and just look for what shows up on that first page of Google search results. This is your chance to land that first

[15:17] impression for brands. Are your social media profiles appearing? Is your website appearing? Think through how you want to optimize that first impression by first auditing your presence on the web. Make sure everything looks good, or

[15:31] if you're not seeing many results, simply just lean into the second way to optimize your Google presence, and that is to get your name in text on the internet and make sure it's consistent. So, any platform that you own should

[15:47] rank for your name or your brand's name. So, if you looked for yourself on didn't see any of your social media profiles, make sure you go to those social media profiles and add your name to the nameplate section. Whatever it is

[16:03] that you want to be known for, make sure anything that you have is using the same name across all platforms that you're on. Search engines index text, so your on. Search engines index text, so your name needs to appear in text in

[16:18] articles, guest posts, podcast shows, notes, collab video descriptions. So, anywhere where you are involved in creating a piece of content, make sure your name appears in text in the description, in titles, anywhere you

[16:32] both content creators and your friend does a podcast, and you do a single interview or like a guest feature on their blog post or wherever, even just one place to create that searchable footprint will put you at an advantage.

[16:48] Being featured somewhere, anywhere, simply signals to Google and brands that you are an authority. And then the third thing that you could do is to claim and optimize your other searchable assets. So, your website or your LinkedIn bio,

[17:03] make sure your name and information is consistent there, too. If you have your Google search profile, make sure to link all of your social accounts in your search profile. Add your website or any relevant links, complete and edit your

[17:19] about section, and upload a profile picture since all of that can help overall strengthen your online presence. So, those are just a few ways that you could help your presence on Google. And finally, as promised, I want to show you

[17:34] the power of Google. Like when you are consistent with building your Google presence over time, this isn't like a overnight strategy. Like if you're like you're like, "Okay, this video's got to go viral within the next 24-48 hours."

[17:47] No. Google is building your presence over time with content discovery. And when you're consistent in doing that, as you could see here, Google actually you could see here, Google actually contributed to over 150,000

[18:01] contributed to over 150,000 views to my YouTube channel alone just this year. That is just stats for this year so far. That doesn't include people year so far. That doesn't include people discovering my Instagram, TikTok, or

[18:14] website through Google, either. That is just YouTube alone. And if you want to look at like lifetime stats, this is how many views that my channel has gotten from Google alone lifetime-wise. It's almost 1 million extra views because of

[18:30] Google, because I've been consistent with SEO, with content discovery, and with SEO, with content discovery, and with getting my name out there so that I hear what you thought about this video. And if you have any follow-up questions

[18:45] about building a Google presence, just let me know down in the comments below. will see you in the next one. Follow your joy. Bye.
