What we can learn from Gawr Gura's Graduation

[00:16] Entubing community who has influenced and inspired so many has announced her and inspired so many has announced her graduation for May 1st, 2025. I am here graduation for May 1st, 2025. I am here to announce that I will be graduating

[00:30] to announce that I will be graduating from Hollow Live on May 1st, 2025. JST. I stayed up all night to watch it as soon as I was informed. And if Gooba got me looking like this on stream, oh god, sorry guys, I'm such a mess right now.

[00:43] Then I can imagine she's got many of you other shrimps and chum buds to do the same. But I won't talk much about the announcement in this video or speculate on her words regarding disagreements with management. Instead, I want to talk

[00:56] about something that she said that is still incredibly important, yet so often still incredibly important, yet so often overlooked. It was incredibly exciting, but also very intense and unexpected to be suddenly surrounded by so many eyes

[01:11] and expectations. I remember there being many days where the stress was so overwhelming that I couldn't eat or keep food down. As aspiring YouTubers, content creators, or anyone who seeks growth with an

[01:25] audience, we often obsess over numbers and fantasize about the dream scenario of being surrounded by a massive audience. But we neglect to acknowledge the repercussions that come with a sudden explosion of growth. Suddenly,

[01:39] you have this responsibility to upkeep and improve on what you have. Suddenly, you are faced with the pressure of an audience you are not ready for. Many are usually happy to support you, but you may feel like you don't deserve their

[01:52] support because you haven't had the time or experience to build meaningful things or experience to build meaningful things that justify it. Therefore, falling into the clutches of imposttor syndrome. And some may even hate your guts. Whether

[02:05] it's because of jealousy, the hot new edgy trend, or otherwise, if you have not built up the experience of dealing with these types of people on a smaller scale, then how do you hope to handle it on something much, much larger? It takes

[02:20] incredible mental resilience to not only continue what you're doing, but also to adapt to it. And Gura has done an incredible job, and she clearly loves what she does despite the intense stress that she was facing. Also, you have to

[02:33] keep in mind that while what I've said is aimed at indies, these things are far more emphasized when you are a part of an agency, let alone being the golden child, the one many consider to be the face of English YouTubers. Like, do you

[02:48] understand how much pressure that is? Especially for someone who is even too Especially for someone who is even too scared to sing alone in her shower. Let with you. I've had my own moment of explosive growth. Granted, it was

[03:02] nowhere near the volume of GA or any of the other Hollow Life members for that matter, but I did go from this very small indie VTuber who has never had any entertainment background or experience to suddenly spiking my analytics with

[03:16] numbers I never would have even thought imaginable for myself back then. And I imaginable for myself back then. And I wasn't prepared. On top of my IRL obligations with a full-time job and relationships to maintain, I got too

[03:29] relationships to maintain, I got too overwhelmed and became complacent. I still regret it to this day because I know I could have done better to properly leverage the opportunity that I was given, but I failed to do so. I

[03:43] lacked the experience and I lacked the willpower. So, let me bring this back to you, dear aspiring VTuber. When you reach the height of your desired success reach the height of your desired success or more, are you ready to face it? Have

[03:56] you had enough experience to be able to handle everything that comes with it? And will you be ready to shoulder that weight of expectation? You don't need an immediate answer, but keep it in the back of your head, especially as you go

[04:09] through this journey. While it is an incredible feeling to have so many people recognize, support, and acknowledge you and your hard work, we have to understand that it's not always sunshine and rainbows up there. Ominous

[04:23] thunderclouds also await those who reach the summit. And look, I'm not trying to scare anyone from making it big or aspiring to do so, but see this as a little sign of caution to keep reality in check. That being said, in the video,

[04:37] GA also mentioned something else that is equally as important. The continuous support and patience of my wonderful community helped to lessen that feeling and pushed me to go on to do things that I didn't even know I was capable of.

[05:00] and every one of you to the opportunities given to me and for the almost 5 years we've been able to spend together. When hits the fan, whether they know it or not, the support of the community will play a big

[05:15] part in picking their Oshi back up. So, my fellow shrimps, chum buds, don't be sad that it's over. Let's smile because it happened. We have two more weeks with our favorite stinky shark girl. So, let's go make the best of it. Let's have
