Are Ceramic Coatings Worth It? There are two big if questions! Answered in 5 minutes or less

[00:07] ceramic coatings worth it

[00:10] my answer to that question is definitely

[00:12] yes

[00:13] if you value your time and if you see

[00:16] your vehicle as an investment

[00:19] now first of all let's talk about the

[00:22] time part

[00:23] having a ceramic coating applied to your

[00:25] vehicle either whether you are

[00:27] purchasing it from a professional and

[00:29] having them apply

[00:30] it or whether you are doing the diy

[00:32] method and applying it yourself

[00:34] is going to save you a lot of time in

[00:37] the long term

[00:38] why because you're not going to be

[00:41] waxing the vehicle you're not going to

[00:44] be

[00:44] taking it to the detailer as often

[00:46] because if you're having someone else

[00:48] detail and take care of your vehicle

[00:50] because

[00:51] it's got a protective coating on it it's

[00:53] easier to clean it's more chemical

[00:55] resistant

[00:56] and it's going to preserve the gloss

[00:58] much better so you're not going to need

[01:00] the aesthetic touch-ups as often

[01:03] whenever you have that ceramic coating

[01:05] applied

[01:06] let's say you're a diy-er and you decide

[01:09] to do a ceramic coating yourself

[01:11] okay there is the initial investment of

[01:14] time and resources to not only purchase

[01:17] the coatings for all the tools and pads

[01:19] and all that stuff that you're going to

[01:20] need

[01:21] to properly apply the coating but you

[01:22] also as i've said before in other videos

[01:24] to need to do some research

[01:26] and really find out how the coatings are

[01:28] properly applied

[01:29] so that you do a good job and you get

[01:31] the best bond possible therefore the

[01:33] best durability possible out of the

[01:34] coating

[01:36] once you do that however the work is

[01:38] done the coating is on the car

[01:40] the car looks great and you are going to

[01:42] spend significantly

[01:44] less time taking care of the vehicle now

[01:46] that you have the coating on it

[01:48] in fact when it comes to my actual

[01:50] newers there's my

[01:52] clients that purchase coatings from me

[01:54] that is the

[01:55] number one compliment that i get

[01:58] about ceramic coatings after the fact is

[02:00] that it saves me

[02:02] so much time i've got a full-size pickup

[02:04] truck

[02:05] and now that i have a ceramic coating

[02:08] applied on it i'm

[02:09] getting the whole thing washed and dried

[02:12] in 30

[02:12] 45 minutes and it was taken me hours out

[02:15] there

[02:16] on a saturday afternoon to get this

[02:18] truck clean

[02:19] because the coating has so much ease of

[02:22] cleaning

[02:22] benefits so if you look at that alone

[02:25] if your time is valuable to you and

[02:28] you're wanting to save

[02:29] time taking care of your vehicle just in

[02:32] that realm

[02:33] ceramic coatings are well worth it one

[02:35] of the first things that i did when i

[02:37] purchased my new

[02:38] hyundai palisade last year was bring it

[02:41] in the shop

[02:42] and ceramic coated and since then the

[02:44] vehicle has

[02:46] 18 000 almost 19 000 miles on it in a

[02:48] little over a year

[02:49] we put a lot of miles on it i use it for

[02:51] some business use and

[02:53] test products and when i go on business

[02:55] trips and stuff like that

[02:56] i use the car a lot we put a lot of

[02:58] miles on it

[02:59] and the only thing i've ever done to the

[03:01] thing since ceramic coating it

[03:03] is wash it and dry it well and it still

[03:06] looks

[03:07] very very similar other than a few

[03:10] unstoppable rock chips

[03:12] it looks very very similar to what it

[03:14] did whenever i pulled it right off the

[03:16] car lot

[03:17] so the other side of is a ceramic

[03:20] coating

[03:21] worth it is do you see your vehicle as a

[03:24] an investment to me whenever we

[03:27] purchased

[03:27] that vehicle it was around a forty

[03:29] thousand dollar suv which is

[03:31] not a lot to some people and it's a ton

[03:33] of money to others but it was the most

[03:35] expensive vehicle that i'd ever bought

[03:37] and i said i want to have the best

[03:39] protection possible on this thing

[03:41] because

[03:41] i plan on owning this easily five plus

[03:44] years

[03:44] i saw the vehicle as an investment so

[03:47] although i didn't have the

[03:50] the overall sticker price of a ceramic

[03:52] coating i still had to give

[03:53] my time towards applying it prepping it

[03:56] purchasing the products putting the

[03:58] products on it

[03:59] so if i look at it in that realm i saw

[04:01] the vehicle as an investment and i

[04:03] wanted to protect that investment make

[04:04] it easier to clean

[04:06] easier to take care of and in those

[04:08] realms the ceramic coating has blown

[04:10] my expectations away i can never drive a

[04:13] vehicle without one now so

[04:16] just in those rounds there's a lot of

[04:19] detailers that will talk about

[04:20] swirl mark resistance and chemical

[04:22] resistance all that stuff is good and

[04:24] fine and dandy

[04:25] but saving you time and protecting your

[04:28] investment and making it easier to own

[04:31] that's when ceramic coatings are really

[04:33] worth it all the other stuff

[04:35] is a fringe benefit or it's greatly

[04:37] oversold

[04:38] by a lot of people but if you're looking

[04:40] for ease of cleaning

[04:42] and protection for your investment in

[04:44] that realm

[04:45] paying anywhere from 500 to a couple

[04:48] thousand dollars for a ceramic coating

[04:50] is well worth it if you value the

[04:53] vehicle

[04:53] that you have purchased or the vehicle

[04:55] that you already own
