AI Summary

This video offers tips for aspiring VTubers on how to have a successful debut and grow as a content creator. The creator emphasizes the importance of character design, social media promotion, and consistent content creation.

[00:38]
Character Design Importance

A good character design is eye-catching and memorable, but personality and backstory are crucial for audience connection.

[01:22]
Preparing Your Debut

Create social media accounts, especially Twitter, to promote your debut. Post model reveals, sneak peeks, and engage with the VTuber community.

[03:01]
Content Before Debut

Focus on making content before your debut. Spend 10 minutes to an hour daily on social media to connect and get inspired.

[04:00]
Research the Community

Watch popular corporate VTubers like Hololive to understand what makes them successful and get inspiration for your own content.

[04:48]
Debut Stream Planning

Plan your debut stream with engaging activities like PowerPoints, storytelling, or a DJ set to make a memorable impression.

[06:24]
Post-Debut Content

Continue making content after debut. Streams should be entertaining beyond just playing games; plan activities that can be turned into clips or videos for other platforms.

[07:42]
Multi-Platform Strategy

Use platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts to repurpose stream clips. Streaming alone is not enough for discoverability.

[09:08]
Collabs Not Necessary

Collabs are not required for growth. Only collaborate if you enjoy playing with the person and you mesh well together.

[09:39]
Brand Awareness

Develop a consistent brand that defines you as a content creator. A professional and authentic brand helps gain followers.

[10:24]
Hard Truths

VTubing is no different from other content creation. The novelty has worn off; now you need to be entertaining. Don't expect to blow up immediately; set realistic goals and focus on improving content.

Success as a VTuber requires a strong character concept, strategic promotion, and consistent, engaging content. Focus on improving your brand and content rather than chasing quick growth.

[00:00] do you want to know how to become a

[00:01] successful v tuber are you not sure on

[00:03] how to debut your model or how to have a

[00:05] successful debut well great because i'm

[00:08] going to show you the easiest ways to do

[00:10] all of that and more hi i'm mariume and

[00:13] today i want to share some tips that i

[00:15] have learned over the year of becoming a

[00:17] v tuber now that we are in the year 2022

[00:21] vtubing is starting to become a legit

[00:23] way to make content and i noticed a lot

[00:25] of people are struggling on their

[00:27] vtuping journey because they don't know

[00:29] where to begin or how to improve so what

[00:32] are some things that you can do to set

[00:34] yourself up for success before and after

[00:36] you debate your model well let's go over

[00:38] your concept design real quick what

[00:40] makes a good character design and

[00:42] concept it doesn't matter if your model

[00:44] is 2d or 3d because the concept is

[00:47] what's important to success the key to

[00:49] good character design is creating a

[00:51] character that your audience can connect

[00:53] with it needs to be eye-catching and

[00:55] memorable this is why i disagree with

[00:57] youtubers who say you need a pretty

[00:59] model to be successful because an artist

[01:01] cannot rely on a good character design

[01:03] if the personality and backstory of the

[01:05] character is bland or hard to resonate

[01:07] with so ask yourself this what about you

[01:10] and your character design makes you

[01:12] stand out i have more videos about this

[01:14] topic where i go more in depth about

[01:15] character design and be tubing so make

[01:17] sure you check those out if you haven't

[01:18] okay so now that you have a general idea

[01:21] about your concept let's go over

[01:22] preparing your debut you're probably

[01:24] wondering if it's a good idea for you to

[01:26] debut or not and it totally is it can be

[01:28] a great way to hype up your v super

[01:30] avatar and get people excited to see

[01:31] your streams you know you're so lucky if

[01:34] you're starting to become a youtuber

[01:35] right now because there are so many

[01:37] tutorials on youtubing compared to when

[01:39] i started back in october in 2020 i

[01:42] didn't have a debut from my youtuber at

[01:44] first because it wasn't something you

[01:45] did back then unless you were a

[01:47] corporate youtuber but now debuts are

[01:49] becoming much more widely accepted for

[01:51] indie youtubers to advertise their model

[01:53] so what should you do to prepare for

[01:55] your debut okay first you should make

[01:57] some social media accounts on different

[01:58] platforms that you want to promote your

[02:00] upcoming debut on twitter is a great

[02:02] place to start because a lot of

[02:04] youtubers use it to talk with each other

[02:06] you can make a model reveal post to get

[02:08] engagement or a short video showcasing

[02:10] your upcoming debut you can also join

[02:12] the virtual youtubers subreddit and make

[02:14] post on there introducing yourself as

[02:16] well as doing little teases showing

[02:18] sneak peeks of your model if you're

[02:20] struggling to figure out what to post

[02:22] then take a look at other youtubers on

[02:23] the platform and see what they're

[02:25] posting then try to make your own unique

[02:27] version of their posts something that's

[02:30] good about twitter is that random trends

[02:32] happen all the time and it's a great way

[02:34] to showcase your model honestly social

[02:36] media is a great way to connecting with

[02:38] other people in the youtubing community

[02:39] and i don't just mean connecting with

[02:41] other vtubers a lot of youtuber fans use

[02:44] social media to talk and discuss about

[02:47] their favorite youtuber it actually

[02:48] makes me so happy seeing people online

[02:51] talk about my design and my lore so you

[02:53] definitely want to make sure you're

[02:54] posting on social media and talking to

[02:56] others you know socialized okay but you

[02:59] don't need to spend all day on social

[03:01] media because the most important thing

[03:03] you should be focusing on is making

[03:04] content before you debut but you could

[03:06] take between 10 minutes to an hour a day

[03:08] on social media to either talk to people

[03:10] share their content reply to their post

[03:12] and do some research to get inspired for

[03:14] your own content sometimes when i'm

[03:16] struggling on what to post i'll go on

[03:19] twitter and look at what other youtubers

[03:20] are talking about and sometimes that

[03:22] will inspire me to make a youtube video

[03:24] like this one here you can also join

[03:26] different discord communities and

[03:27] subreddits that interest you but make

[03:29] sure you are joining these communities

[03:31] with good intentions because people seem

[03:33] to get confused with the word networking

[03:35] any good business knows how to build

[03:37] meaningful relationships so don't join a

[03:40] random discord or separate community

[03:41] with the sole purpose of advertising

[03:43] yourself baca take the time to get to

[03:46] know other people in the community and

[03:48] maybe make some friends along the way

[03:49] look being a streamer can get pretty

[03:51] lonely so you should be joining these

[03:53] communities to build friendships not a

[03:55] following okay i ranted on enough about

[03:58] social media and you get it so you've

[04:00] made your own social media profiles but

[04:01] let's say you're completely new to

[04:03] youtubing well first you should probably

[04:05] do some research about the community

[04:07] before actively posting i constantly get

[04:10] people in my chat who want to become a

[04:12] youtuber and then when they ask me for

[04:13] advice i tell them to go watch some

[04:15] hololive youtubers and then they have no

[04:17] idea who hololive is even if you aren't

[04:21] a fan of corporate youtubers you should

[04:23] watch some of their content and

[04:24] understand certain aspects on why they

[04:27] are so popular in the community because

[04:29] these corporate v tubers are the reason

[04:31] why v tubing is so popular here you can

[04:34] get a lot of inspiration from seeing

[04:37] what other youtubers did for their debut

[04:39] and what kind of content they made after

[04:42] their debut okay so now you've been

[04:44] advertising and connecting with others

[04:46] and hyping up your debut good job now

[04:48] it's time to actually debut your model

[04:51] when you go live for your debut you

[04:53] should have something prepared to

[04:54] showcase your model on stream and i

[04:56] don't mean just showing your model this

[04:58] is because it's really important to plan

[05:01] this day out because it's your special

[05:03] day you want to make it count and make

[05:05] it awesome like for example some people

[05:08] make powerpoints i've seen storytelling

[05:10] about their youtuber lore heck i've even

[05:13] seen a youtuber host a live dj content

[05:16] on their debut like what we are in the

[05:18] year 2022 streaming is not like how it

[05:22] was like the you say to me you

[05:23] little you honestly cannot expect

[05:26] chad to entertain you they are there for

[05:28] you to entertain them and i understand

[05:31] that is a lot easier said than done but

[05:34] think of it this way if you're posting

[05:35] on social media and you got people

[05:38] curious enough to want to check you out

[05:39] then you need to give them a reason to

[05:41] stay this works regardless if you're

[05:43] debuting your model or just going live

[05:45] for the day to play a game you want to

[05:47] make sure your content is relatable and

[05:49] that you're memorable to your viewers

[05:51] don't just debut chat for a bit and then

[05:54] be like okay i'mma go play fortnite for

[05:56] four hours you'll make a lot of your

[05:57] audience leave because you didn't give

[05:59] them a memorable impression during your

[06:01] debut speaking of impressions if you're

[06:04] still watching up to this point then you

[06:06] are probably enjoying my video about

[06:08] this topic i make a lot of other videos

[06:10] about v2bing as well as my own youtuber

[06:13] content so make sure you subscribe to my

[06:15] channel and give this video a thumbs up

[06:18] it really helps support my channel and

[06:20] supports me as a content creator so

[06:22] thanks so much now that we talked about

[06:24] preparing your debut you're probably

[06:26] wondering what to do next after you've

[06:28] debuted well that's easy make content

[06:31] it's important to be making content

[06:33] before you debut and after because

[06:35] content is key to being a successful

[06:38] streamer you should make content that

[06:39] not only interests you but is

[06:42] entertaining to others like i said just

[06:44] going live and playing a video game

[06:46] isn't enough anymore to entertain people

[06:48] because there are so many others doing

[06:51] this exact same thing if you're going to

[06:53] be playing a game then you should plan

[06:55] on different ways to make it interesting

[06:58] there's so many different activities and

[07:00] ideas that you can make it a more

[07:03] interesting stream this is important

[07:04] because you want to be able to make

[07:07] clips or video edits after that will

[07:09] turn into good youtube videos or tick

[07:11] tocks or youtube shorts oh no she

[07:13] mentioned tick tock yes tick tock a lot

[07:16] of people tend to get angry on twitter

[07:18] about tick tock but you know what the

[07:19] reality is that in order to become a

[07:22] successful streamer you need to make

[07:24] content on other platforms it's becoming

[07:27] more difficult to get more viewers when

[07:30] all you do is stream and if you don't

[07:32] have a lot of time to be on multiple

[07:34] platforms then you should work smarter

[07:37] about making your streams becoming good

[07:39] videos or clips to post online later on

[07:42] there are some games that i refuse to

[07:44] stream because i don't feel like it's

[07:46] entertaining to watch so i play them

[07:48] offline and make videos about them

[07:50] instead or i just play them to have fun

[07:52] and relax not everything that you play

[07:55] and do has to be for content it's

[07:57] important to also play things for your

[07:59] own enjoyment i'm not going to go over

[08:01] on how to be consistent with your

[08:02] content because it's kind of obvious

[08:04] that you need to be posting something

[08:06] online a couple of times throughout the

[08:08] week what i really want to stress on is

[08:10] that you cannot expect to just go live

[08:13] with nothing planned and to just blow up

[08:16] any v tuber or streamer who has blown up

[08:18] from a debut has worked hard planning

[08:21] and promoting their streams just take a

[08:23] look at any popular youtuber and notice

[08:25] what kind of content they post they're

[08:27] not just tweeting complaining about how

[08:29] life sucks they're usually posting a

[08:31] clip from their stream or showcasing

[08:33] some artwork that they got or even

[08:35] posting a meme you know something that

[08:37] people enjoy looking at and is relatable

[08:39] so make sure that when you do post

[08:41] online it's something that's about you

[08:43] as a content creator and something that

[08:45] you believe other people can resonate

[08:48] with but maui what if i don't have an

[08:49] audience yet okay then think of an

[08:52] activity that will make a great clip or

[08:55] some kind of video on youtube you should

[08:57] always try to be innovative if something

[08:59] isn't working then change it try

[09:01] something else don't be afraid to fail

[09:04] you want to keep your audience excited

[09:06] for what you have planned next now what

[09:08] about collabs honestly you don't need to

[09:11] collab with anyone to grow i have seen

[09:13] plenty of streamers grow without

[09:15] collabing with anyone you should only

[09:18] collab if it's someone who you enjoy

[09:20] playing video games with it doesn't

[09:22] matter if the other person is a vtuber

[09:24] what matters is if you both mesh well

[09:27] together and can make good content

[09:28] together there's a lot of things i would

[09:30] love to discuss about in regards to

[09:32] collabs but i think it'd be better to

[09:34] discuss it more in another video so

[09:37] let's move on to the next topic brand

[09:39] awareness i don't know why nobody ever

[09:42] wants to talk about this but it is so

[09:43] important to work on your brand before

[09:46] and after you debut your brand is what

[09:48] defines you as a content creator when

[09:51] someone looks at my socials and my

[09:53] content they can immediately tell that

[09:55] my whole brand has some kind of sleep

[09:57] aesthetic to it oh and i like corgis

[09:59] when you have a professional and

[10:00] consistent brand you will gain more

[10:02] followers because people will believe in

[10:04] your authenticity you don't have to have

[10:07] everything polished right away but as

[10:08] you continue to grow and learn more

[10:11] about vtubing you should be trying to

[10:13] improve your social media presence so

[10:15] people can more easily recognize your

[10:18] brand when you post remember you want to

[10:20] be relatable and memorable now here are

[10:24] some hard truths i like to mention about

[10:26] becoming a v tuber the first one is that

[10:29] being a youtuber is no different than

[10:32] becoming a streamer or a content creator

[10:34] i know mine

[10:36] blown right when v2 being first started

[10:39] to blow up people were so curious about

[10:41] what v2 being was and that's how a lot

[10:44] of people blew up for simply having a

[10:47] cool looking model now most of those

[10:49] youtubers or people have either

[10:51] graduated or are losing a lot of their

[10:55] following because they suck at being

[10:57] content creators let's be honest they're

[10:59] bad at being content creators or they

[11:02] got too burnt out and stressed from the

[11:04] pressure of trying to have to constantly

[11:07] push out good content because they blew

[11:09] up so fast not knowing how to be a

[11:11] proper content creator the mystery and

[11:14] the gimmick of vituvin has worn off

[11:16] people understand what v tubing is and

[11:19] accept it as another form of content

[11:21] creation now they want to know how you

[11:23] can be entertaining to them as a v tuber

[11:25] so now when you're starting out don't

[11:27] expect to blow up immediately you should

[11:29] be thinking about what kind of content

[11:31] you want to make that's good and then

[11:33] make sure you're setting up realistic

[11:35] goals for yourself if you really want to

[11:37] grow and become successful you cannot

[11:39] just grind hours and hours streaming on

[11:42] twitch there is little to no

[11:44] discoverability on twitch and you're

[11:46] just wasting your time streaming every

[11:48] day for hours to know viewers nobody

[11:50] else will tell you this because they

[11:52] just want you to watch their youtube

[11:53] video give them a ton of praise in their

[11:55] comment section and then give them a

[11:56] popularity boost by feeding you generic

[11:59] information that you could just easily

[12:01] google like i could just say yeah make

[12:03] good content be consistent don't give up

[12:05] and yeah it sucks to hear it but i don't

[12:07] mind being that reality check for you if

[12:09] you actually want to become successful

[12:12] as a youtuber or a content creator

[12:14] because at the end of the day your

[12:15] content is what will define you as a

[12:18] youtuber not your follow count as long

[12:20] as you are investing in yourself in your

[12:23] brand and improving your content then

[12:25] people will want to invest in you people

[12:28] are not there because you're playing the

[12:29] brand new video game sure some people

[12:31] might be but a lot of them are there for

[12:33] you showcasing the best version of

[12:35] yourself is what's going to make you

[12:37] unique and grow so don't give up and

[12:39] feel bad about yourself if you aren't

[12:41] blowing up right away it's going to take

[12:43] a lot of failures and trying to just

[12:45] throw random crap at a wall before

[12:48] something sticks i have failed a lot of

[12:51] times and the difference between me and

[12:53] a lot of these other people who are

[12:54] graduating or giving up is the fact that

[12:56] i don't give up no matter how many times

[12:58] i fail i keep getting back up and trying

[13:01] something new so as long as you are

[13:03] constantly improving yourself and trying

[13:05] to learn something new to enhance your

[13:07] content then you will definitely see

[13:09] growth and it might be slow and you know

[13:11] what having slow and steady growth isn't

[13:14] a bad thing we all start from somewhere

[13:16] and i hope this video helped you or at

[13:18] least gave you some insights on how to

[13:20] become more successful in your content

[13:22] creation if you have any questions about

[13:25] vtubing or about me then feel free to

[13:27] leave a comment and join my discord

[13:29] where we can chat more closely with

[13:31] other youtubers oh i also have a patreon

[13:33] if you like to support me and get more

[13:35] exclusive behind the scenes content

[13:37] about me i wanted to give a special

[13:40] thanks to my current patreons thank you

[13:42] so much i really appreciate all the
