[00:00] Hey guys, it's Rush. Hope you're doing

[00:01] well. Welcome back to the channel. This

[00:03] video today I'm covering Punishers for

[00:05] Alex. This is moves on block normals and

[00:07] specials. Not an in-depth video, just a

[00:09] very basic video to cover some of the

[00:11] key Punishers. So first move on the list

[00:14] is Alex's stand light kick. It's minus

[00:16] five on block. If you're close up

[00:19] you can get a punish counter stand jab

[00:22] that will link into crouching medium

[00:23] kick. If you're at moderate range, you

[00:26] won't get a stand light punch there. It

[00:28] won't reach. But if you're about this

[00:31] range, you can get a stand light kick

[00:33] punish.

[00:34] However, there is a problem with this

[00:36] because Alex can cancel the stand light

[00:38] kick into the light axe. Light axe is

[00:41] minus four on block.

[00:43] But you can't

[00:45] punish this. You're never in range to

[00:47] connect.

[00:49] If you try and take your turn back off

[00:51] the stand light kick or try and punish,

[00:53] the issue here is if you do stand light

[00:55] kick, you will get counter hit.

[00:57] If you do stand light punch, you can get

[01:00] a best a trade, which is not in your

[01:02] favor.

[01:04] Next on the list is Alex's stand medium

[01:06] kick. This is minus four on block, but I

[01:08] don't think you'll ever be at a range to

[01:10] punish this move.

[01:13] It pushes you back quite a bit and at

[01:15] the range Alex will use it at, you won't

[01:17] be able to connect.

[01:21] But you can see at close proximity

[01:24] you can get a jab punish counter into

[01:26] crouching medium kick. Non-charged stand

[01:29] heavy kick. This is a weird animation

[01:31] that you see. It actually slides Alex

[01:32] towards you. So it can be quite easy to

[01:35] mis-space when they uses it this attack.

[01:37] So if they mis-space it and slide into

[01:39] your range

[01:41] stand jab again is the option.

[01:44] It's very close or

[01:46] you can go into a crouching medium punch

[01:48] off the stand light punch. This is not a

[01:50] neutral button, it's an anti-air. But

[01:51] crouch heavy punch, if you do for some

[01:53] reason block this in the neutral, this

[01:55] is minus six on block.

[01:58] Close range you will get a crouching

[01:59] medium punch. And if it's at sort of

[02:02] range where the crouching medium punch

[02:03] doesn't connect, you could do level two

[02:05] to punish this. But it's not a neutral

[02:08] button to use.

[02:11] Alex's sweep is nothing special. It's

[02:13] not one of those sweeps where they do

[02:15] it, you get space and trapped or trying

[02:18] to sweep back. You can always sweep it.

[02:22] Stand heavy punch will also reach very

[02:24] far out.

[02:32] So Alex's jump down heavy punch dive

[02:34] attack. This has variable frame data

[02:36] depending on where it hits. So if it

[02:38] hits very high, the worst it's going to

[02:40] be is minus 14. I've seen it about minus

[02:43] 12 at close proximity as minus 12.

[02:46] You always get a crouch heavy punch

[02:48] there if badly spaced.

[02:52] If they're doing it and you're kind of

[02:53] close, you may want to do a stand jab

[02:56] just if you're not sure because you'll

[02:58] get a punish counter link into other

[03:00] buttons.

[03:03] Give you a warning, it can be made safe.

[03:06] That there was only minus one for Alex

[03:08] because it hit so late in the animation.

[03:12] So the two target combos, only the

[03:14] crouching light kick into crouch heavy

[03:16] kick is punishable. Now this is a weird

[03:18] string. I don't know what this is for.

[03:20] Maybe there's tech that I'm not aware

[03:21] of. But with this the There's two

[03:24] things. If you block the crouching light

[03:26] kick, you can just interrupt the cancel

[03:29] into the heavy kick with crouching light

[03:31] punch. You can throw that into target

[03:33] combo. If you block the whole thing

[03:36] it's minus 15 on block. So this is like

[03:39] mad punishable. You want to be doing

[03:41] stand heavy punch there I feel.

[03:44] Cuz you can go for the Jinrai, sorry,

[03:47] the dragon lash loops. So we're now

[03:49] looking at proud of stance and we're

[03:50] looking at the medium punch, the

[03:52] shoulder launcher out of proud of

[03:53] stance. Now this is minus six on block

[03:57] if you do end up blocking it.

[04:04] So you get your standard sort of like

[04:06] six frame Punishers. That was a stand

[04:08] medium punch link into crouch heavy

[04:09] punch. But you can do a crouching medium

[04:12] punch if you block it as well.

[04:18] But just be careful. If this hits a

[04:21] little later in the active frames, it

[04:23] won't actually be punishable. So that

[04:25] was actually minus five, so it's still

[04:26] punishable. If I try and get it

[04:28] somewhere about like there, yeah, there

[04:30] is minus three, not actually punishable.

[04:32] So be careful with this. You only want

[04:34] to try and go for a punish if you're

[04:36] kind of close. If you're not sure stand

[04:40] light punch into stand light kick or

[04:42] something like that for a punish. So the

[04:44] crouching heavy kick crouching heavy

[04:46] kick target combo out of proud of

[04:47] stance. This is a little bit of an odd

[04:50] move. So it has two hits. The first move

[04:53] is minus 17. The second move is minus

[04:56] 20. If you press in between the sequence

[05:00] you will get counter hit.

[05:06] >> [groaning]

[05:08] >> You also don't want to stand heavy punch

[05:10] the second heavy kick in the target

[05:12] combo because it will whiff. So if you

[05:14] block it

[05:16] crouch heavy punch is your option there.

[05:17] So we mentioned light flash axe. That is

[05:20] only minus four and you get pushed out

[05:22] to a point you can't punish it. But with

[05:25] the medium, it is minus six on block.

[05:29] You will get a punish here, but the push

[05:30] back is a little strange. So you don't

[05:32] get a link into crouch heavy punch.

[05:36] Crouch medium kick is a good link off

[05:39] the close range stand medium punch.

[05:42] For consistency's sake, you may just

[05:44] want to crouching medium punch this.

[05:48] Of course, if very far out, you can do

[05:50] super R2 as a raw punish.

[05:54] The OD flash chop. This is minus four on

[05:56] block, but it pushes you out making your

[05:59] jab whiff. So you got to be careful with

[06:01] taking your turn back there.

[06:04] The heavy and EX knee smash that Alex

[06:06] has, they can connect with you whilst

[06:08] you're grounded. And if you block them

[06:11] or if they just come out by mistake, it

[06:12] will leave Alex very negative. Minus 42

[06:16] for the heavy, minus 46 for the OD

[06:18] version. So both of these moves you can

[06:22] run overhead to punish them or you can

[06:24] do run tattoo I believe.

[06:34] Alex's level one, you can get a neutral

[06:37] jump heavy punch punish on that.

[06:41] Run tattoo.

[06:46] And run into overhead.

[06:49] Level two on block you can get a run

[06:50] overhead, but it's very tight.

[06:55] Run tattoo is the way to go.

[06:59] Both versions of his level three are

[07:01] minus 38 on block. So you can get a jump

[07:04] heavy punch there.

[07:07] And that means run overhead works.

[07:12] Of course, run tattoo.

[07:15] That is it for the video guys. Hope that

[07:16] helps. Any questions, any queries,

[07:17] always give me a shout and I'll catch

[07:19] you in the next one. Take care.
