5:10[00:00] Hey guys, it's Rush. Hope you're doing
[00:01] well. Welcome back to the channel. In
[00:03] this video today, we're going to look at
[00:05] frame data for Saga to show you some of
[00:08] the key punishes you want to use against
[00:10] his normals and specials. So, starting
[00:12] with stand heavy punch, one of his
[00:14] normals. This has a lot of range, slow
[00:16] start up, but it's minus five on block.
[00:18] You do get a stand like punish here.
[00:25] Next attack is stand heavy kick. This is
[00:27] 10 frame start up. doesn't have as much
[00:29] range, but this move actually connects
[00:31] twice at close proximity. If the second
[00:33] portion of the kick lands when you're
[00:35] standing, it's minus 5. If you crouch
[00:37] block, you'll block the knee, which is
[00:39] minus 7, but the second part of the kick
[00:41] whiffs entirely. If you're further out
[00:43] at this sort of range, it'll completely
[00:46] whiff. The the kick itself at the end
[00:47] doesn't connect. That's like a free
[00:49] whiff punish.
[00:52] If you do block the stand heavy kick,
[00:53] you only get the stand like a punish at
[00:55] close range. There is a lot of push
[00:56] back.
[00:58] Just watch your spacing on the punish.
[01:00] If you do block this kick and the second
[01:02] portion of the kick whiffs because
[01:03] you're crouching, remember minus 7. You
[01:06] may want to go for a crouching, meaning
[01:08] punch punish counter. Sag stand light
[01:10] kick. This is special cancelable, so be
[01:12] careful. But on block raw, this is minus
[01:15] four. You'll only punish this with a
[01:16] long range fourframe close proximity.
[01:22] Sagat crouch heavy punch 11 frame start
[01:24] up has a lot of range this move does so
[01:27] on block this is minus five again you
[01:30] can see you got to be very close punish
[01:33] that I don't think you'll be punishing
[01:36] that they will be using that as a whiff
[01:38] punish tool they won't be throwing it
[01:39] out at close proximity the stag sweep is
[01:42] minus 12 on block even at max range 10
[01:45] can get a sweep with punish if you want
[01:47] to spend bar you can do odi to
[01:50] close range. You definitely want to do
[01:53] stand heavy punch into either medium or
[01:56] OD dragon lash
[01:58] and of course do level two super as well
[02:01] at range.
[02:04] >> Saga has a heap of command normals and
[02:06] target combos. This is high step kick.
[02:08] Now this is not punishable. This is
[02:10] actually plus four for Saga. This is a
[02:12] high step kick meaning you can crouch
[02:14] it. Means you will get a whiff punish
[02:17] opportunity. Tiger monolith. This is
[02:20] back heavy puncher stag out. If you
[02:22] block both hits, it's minus 10. If you
[02:24] crouch it or if only one hit connects,
[02:27] it's minus 13. In both instances, you
[02:30] can get a stand heavy punch punish
[02:32] counter. So the kick kick target combo,
[02:35] you can't crouch this, but this is minus
[02:37] eight on block.
[02:42] Saga also has two target combos from
[02:44] crouch medium punch. This is crouch
[02:46] medium punch into heavy punch. This is
[02:50] minus 14 on block
[02:59] crime punch into heavy kick. This is a
[03:02] launcher. This is minus 10 on block.
[03:06] So again very punishable for Saga. So
[03:09] light tiger knee at close proximity
[03:11] standing or crouching is minus eight.
[03:13] But further out, if they do it at range,
[03:15] you can see there it's zero. It's
[03:17] actually more advantageous for Saga if
[03:20] you're crouching. So, if I'm crouching,
[03:22] should back dash. Now,
[03:25] you can see that was quite close, but
[03:28] it's only minus two. So, it is a spacing
[03:30] dependent thing. If you see Sag's very
[03:32] high up in the air, you're going to get
[03:34] a big punish.
[03:38] >> Similar story for the medium. Medium is
[03:41] minus seven at close proximity. So again
[03:43] if he connects and he's high minus seven
[03:46] but further range especially if you're
[03:48] crouching it becomes safe.
[03:53] Heavy tiger is interesting. If you're
[03:54] crouching this then you're always going
[03:56] to be minus four. You do not want to
[03:59] crouch that. But if you're standing
[04:02] that second attack the second part of it
[04:04] second knee is minus five for Saga.
[04:08] you can get a punish counter,
[04:11] but range, even if you're standing, it
[04:13] can be made to be safe. You can see that
[04:15] was only minus two the first time.
[04:18] So, light tiger shot the close range is
[04:22] minus 7.
[04:27] Meme and heavy hit high. So, you can
[04:29] crouch and if you are close proximity
[04:31] when they do this, you can with punish
[04:35] with a button.
[04:39] However, medium, if you block it at
[04:41] close proximity, you are minus three. It
[04:45] is Sagat's turn at close proximity from
[04:47] the medium fireball. This has slightly
[04:49] slower startup than the heavy.
[04:53] The heavy is minus one block for Sagat.
[04:55] So, I'm plus one. You can see it comes
[04:57] out very, very fast. I'm not going to
[05:00] cover Tiger Nexus in this video because
[05:02] there is a separate video that covers
[05:03] all the frame data for that. So, please
[05:06] see this video link in the video
[05:07] description for more on Tiger Nexus. So,
[05:10] when it comes to Sagat supers, his level
[05:12] one super is very punishable is minus
[05:16] 31.
[05:18] You can get a drive rush crouch every
[05:21] punch. His level two is minus 58 on
[05:24] block. You get a big neutral jump punish
[05:26] here.
[05:32] >> Level three is minus 51. So again, you
[05:34] get a neutral jump option there to
[05:37] punish.
[05:40] >> Sagat's level one super is
[05:45] >> throw and strike invincible, but it is
[05:48] very slow startup.
[05:52] >> So you can bait it when it's done on a
[05:54] wake up situation. Can of course go for
[05:57] a meter fireball setup to punish.
[06:06] So, that's it for the video, guys. Just
[06:07] some super basic information, but stuff
[06:09] that will help you with the matchup when
[06:11] you face the army of Sagats in ranked.
[06:13] Any questions or any queries, always
[06:14] give me a shout, and I'll catch you in
[06:16] the next video. Take care.
