▶ Play ClipThis video tutorial demonstrates the Stream Review feature for Voicemeeter, a new audio routing interface designed for streamers. The creator explains how to set up and use the feature within both the Banana and Potato versions of Voicemeeter, highlighting its key functionality for sub-mixing and audio control.
The video introduces the Stream Review feature for Voicemeeter, a new tool designed to simplify audio routing for streamers.
The creator demonstrates how to rename and configure audio devices (headphones, Rift, speakers) within the Stream Review interface.
The first column is typically used for game or desktop audio, while the second is for applications like Spotify or a browser.
The Stream Review interface allows control of multiple output devices (headphones, Rift, speakers) from a single panel.
The Stream Review feature is currently in beta for Potato, while Banana users may want to wait for the full release at the end of October.
The creator switches to the Potato version of Voicemeeter, which offers more features and a larger interface.
The SEL button allows for sub-mixing, enabling the streamer to hear audio at a different volume than the audience.
Pressing the SEL button on a column allows monitoring of the audio level being sent through that channel.
The ABS link mixes all audio to the same volume, while the REL link allows relative adjustments between channels.
The mute button in Stream Review currently has a bug where it doesn't sync with Voicemeeter's main mute, but this is expected to be fixed in the final release.

Stream Review Introduction
This is the core topic of the video, introducing a new feature for audio routing.
[0:00]Potato vs. Banana
This highlights the key difference between the two versions and the release timeline.
[2:32]Sub-Mixing with SEL
This is a key technique for streamers to control audio levels independently.
[7:28]ABS and REL Link
This explains the different linking modes for audio channels.
[9:23]Mute Button Bug
This highlights a known issue in the beta version.
[12:06][00:00] all right this is going to be
[00:04] not like anything professional but uh
[00:07] hopefully it will give you some insight
[00:09] on the
[00:10] stream review
[00:12] uh
[00:13] new thingy
[00:14] that's pretty cool
[00:17] um
[00:18] I don't use bananas so uh I just threw
[00:21] some things in here I got my headphones
[00:22] uh my Rift and uh speakers on my desk
[00:27] as you can see nothing's showing up here
[00:28] at the moment and that's because you
[00:30] need to rename stuff and I am doing that
[00:32] is by right clicking uh so this is my
[00:34] mic press enter now my mic's there I can
[00:36] control the volume a little bit quieter
[00:39] uh I want this at negative five though
[00:42] um this for example could be Discord if
[00:45] you do use a something like a table for
[00:47] example
[00:48] so now Discord will be here
[00:50] the volume slider connects with that one
[00:52] over there
[00:54] um
[00:55] this I'm not using at the moment so I'll
[00:56] just turn it off
[00:59] um
[01:00] this column on banana I will usually
[01:02] tell people to use as their game column
[01:04] or desktop audio
[01:07] you can see it shows it there so in one
[01:10] in two
[01:11] and then you got virtual in number one
[01:13] virtual in number two
[01:16] uh we can I'll usually tell people to do
[01:19] I'll usually tell people to do um
[01:21] Spotify slash uh their browser for this
[01:24] one since uh it's fine if they're
[01:26] together because you really never
[01:27] control the volume of them both at the
[01:29] same time because you're not you you're
[01:31] not listening to music and watching like
[01:32] a YouTube video at the same time
[01:34] um so yeah so we can move this slider
[01:37] I'll connect that one with this slider
[01:38] connects with that one
[01:41] um
[01:43] so that is for the input strips if you
[01:46] want more output buses to show right at
[01:48] the moment is A1 is the only one that
[01:50] shows
[01:52] um
[01:52] I can rename this so this could be my
[01:54] headphones because that's what it is
[01:56] and I'll show headphone second one
[01:58] that's my Rift I'm just going off of
[02:00] what I have up here by the way so a one
[02:02] two three
[02:04] um
[02:06] that's my Rift I'll enter that oh
[02:08] enter that and I got my Rift there
[02:11] then my third one is my speakers
[02:15] look at all three of those showing I can
[02:17] control all three
[02:19] from the stream review thing
[02:21] this at the moment does nothing uh
[02:25] this is just the like the beta I guess
[02:27] we'll call it I think this is supposed
[02:29] to come out the end of October
[02:32] um so yeah it's out now you can download
[02:34] it but it's uh you need to download
[02:36] potato so if you're already on banana or
[02:39] the original one
[02:41] you I mean I would suggest maybe waiting
[02:44] because I mean banana should fit on your
[02:45] screen anyways it's mostly for potato
[02:48] um if it doesn't fit on your screen
[02:49] because this is resizable
[02:51] so that's probably the biggest
[02:54] thing that comes with this
[02:56] um maybe wait to the end of October then
[02:59] um
[03:00] you get this instead of having to
[03:01] download potato and then you'll get like
[03:03] all the new drivers that you're not used
[03:04] to anymore because
[03:06] potato comes with
[03:08] um extra stuff that you're not used to
[03:09] so I don't know if you want to start
[03:11] dabbling in that but
[03:13] yeah
[03:15] um
[03:17] we got B1 and B2 at the moment you're
[03:19] hearing me through B1 as you can see
[03:21] when I talk if I turn it off
[03:25] you can you can hear me anymore so you
[03:27] hear me through B1 at the moment
[03:30] so let's name B1 as my mic
[03:33] um because that's what I'll probably use
[03:35] it for this will be my mic and Discord
[03:37] everywhere like that
[03:39] um
[03:39] B2 that's another it's another B1
[03:42] basically but just for something else so
[03:44] B1 could be your microphone and Discord
[03:46] and B2 might could be your microphone
[03:47] and zoom or something like that in my
[03:49] case I use B2
[03:51] um for an app called Shadow Play It's
[03:53] like a recording software so I'll use
[03:55] Shadow play and you'll see that my
[03:57] microphone is going to both B1 and B2
[04:01] um which is good because I want my
[04:02] microphone to record in Shadow play and
[04:05] I like clip something in there
[04:08] um
[04:09] and yeah so every time I'm adding all
[04:11] these stuff it adds it to the original
[04:14] inputs up here so say if I want to turn
[04:17] off B2 for my mic so it doesn't show on
[04:19] Shadow play anymore because that's what
[04:20] B2 is I just click it and it turns it
[04:22] off right here I can turn it back on and
[04:24] off and see it's connecting with that
[04:26] um
[04:27] so it's basically just a voice meter but
[04:29] shove to the side and you can remove it
[04:30] around
[04:32] um obviously it doesn't show every
[04:33] feature over here but it shows probably
[04:35] the most significant ones you would use
[04:36] while streaming
[04:38] hence stream review
[04:41] um
[04:43] and yeah so these will all move together
[04:46] um
[04:47] I don't know about sub mixing at the
[04:49] moment with banana I don't believe you
[04:51] can do that
[04:53] um
[04:53] potato is a whole different story you
[04:55] definitely can do that you can move
[04:56] individual sliders for each like B1 if
[04:59] you want B2 to be quieter than B1 you
[05:01] can move these like that in potato but
[05:03] at the moment this was this is they're
[05:04] all stuck together a little stuttery but
[05:06] I think that I think that's just some
[05:08] fine tuning it's not the biggest deal in
[05:09] the world
[05:11] um
[05:12] yeah so that's banana
[05:15] let's just quickly move to potato I'll
[05:17] pause it here
[05:18] okay so here's potato
[05:21] um I will reset this
[05:39] okay so let's get my mic in here let's
[05:42] get the settings back on
[05:46] yeah some mic's working now
[05:48] um
[05:49] probably just gonna disable all these
[05:51] except for my music because that's what
[05:52] I want you guys to hear soon
[05:55] um
[05:56] names are staying
[05:58] um
[05:59] you don't really have to worry about
[06:00] this or this
[06:03] I'm not gonna add that stuff I'm not
[06:05] really caring about that at the moment
[06:06] and as you can see potato is quite the
[06:08] uh Behemoth
[06:10] um
[06:12] let's open up stream review
[06:14] you can see it's got a lot smaller uh
[06:16] and these are the things that are added
[06:17] here at the moment uh
[06:21] I'll delete these real quick
[06:25] so we got A2 we'll select that as we'll
[06:29] select A3 as my speakers on my desk kind
[06:31] of like how we did for
[06:33] a banana wherever that is
[06:36] so I'll re-add these so we got
[06:38] headphones it's already good uh Rift
[06:43] and speakers
[06:46] okay so now we kind of got the same
[06:48] setup as we had kind of hold on close
[06:50] desktop we're on potato now so we have
[06:53] separation and I like to separate
[06:55] Spotify here
[06:57] and my browser here
[07:00] so now we have a total of six inputs
[07:04] that we can all see here
[07:07] um
[07:09] yeah so now we got kind of like the same
[07:11] setup we had of we had with banana
[07:14] um
[07:15] but now we have a lot more stuff to play
[07:18] with we have the slider mode we have
[07:22] uh the I think it's monitored I think
[07:24] that's what this stands for
[07:26] um but
[07:28] the biggest thing between banana and
[07:30] potato with this now is sub mixing is a
[07:34] lot easier I think because before sub
[07:37] mixing like if you want to hear
[07:40] um say
[07:42] let's say we have this say we have a
[07:44] music playing right let's turn this
[07:46] music on
[07:48] [Music]
[07:50] so we got this music playing
[07:52] and say I want to hear it louder in my
[07:55] ears
[07:56] but I want you guys to keep hearing it
[07:58] at this volume
[08:00] I would use the SEL button so if I want
[08:03] to hear it louder I would select the SEL
[08:05] button on my headphones
[08:07] and I would turn it up
[08:10] so now I'm hearing it at this volume
[08:12] which is pretty loud
[08:14] but you guys
[08:18] are hearing it here and this is my mic
[08:20] is combined with it so it's kind of hard
[08:21] to tell
[08:25] but yeah you guys can see it and you
[08:26] guys are hearing at this volume
[08:29] and I'm hearing it at this volume
[08:31] that's what sub mixing would usually
[08:33] work
[08:34] and then so
[08:36] obviously I don't want those to stay
[08:37] like that
[08:38] um so I'll just I have nothing selected
[08:40] and I'll move it around and now it's
[08:42] back to normal everything's the same
[08:44] also they updated
[08:46] um pressing the SEL button on the column
[08:48] so say see how my mic's coming through
[08:50] if I press SEL in here I am now
[08:51] monitoring that audio that's going
[08:54] through B1 so I can tell how loud I'm
[08:57] how loud that audio is I'm sending which
[08:59] is really nice especially when sub
[09:00] mixing because you want to know what how
[09:02] loud it is without just looking at
[09:04] visuals so now I actually know exactly
[09:06] how loud it is
[09:08] um
[09:09] so that's how sub mixing would usually
[09:11] work
[09:12] but now that stream review is here
[09:14] I can continue to play that music
[09:16] and it's probably pretty loud I'll turn
[09:18] it down and I'll just use this for this
[09:20] so
[09:22] um
[09:23] ABS link will mix them all to the same
[09:26] that's for A1 a2a3
[09:29] um
[09:30] oh and I forgot to add B1 let's do that
[09:32] so
[09:33] I'll just label what obs
[09:37] that's a volume level what what OBS
[09:40] here's
[09:42] so
[09:44] for example right now is B1 is what OBS
[09:47] hears
[09:49] so if I turn down
[09:52] um
[09:52] this it'll turn it down for OBS now
[09:54] since b1's there because I renamed that
[09:56] right here
[09:58] so it's really quiet for me everything
[10:00] if I click this I no longer hear it
[10:02] because A1 is my headphones
[10:05] if I do this now you guys can't hear it
[10:07] but I can still hear it
[10:09] and that's I mean that's pretty common
[10:10] we're not I'm not really discussing
[10:12] about that stuff but
[10:13] so that's ABS link it'll make it'll
[10:15] Master like all these at the same volume
[10:19] relative link
[10:21] um
[10:22] that will hold on
[10:27] what was I yeah relative link will
[10:30] um
[10:30] so say if I have these on no link
[10:32] meaning I can do whatever I want with
[10:34] these
[10:35] meaning now that this is loud in my
[10:37] headphones but now it's quieter for you
[10:39] guys
[10:40] so let's stop mixing right there and
[10:42] it's super easy especially with this
[10:44] so for A2 and A3 I can make those
[10:46] actually muted
[10:49] but now you you guys are the only one
[10:51] that's able to hear the music because
[10:52] it's going through B1 because that's
[10:53] what OBS hears
[10:55] um
[10:58] so now say I do this
[11:00] now if I click
[11:02] uh
[11:03] what is this called again
[11:07] relative relative so relative if I have
[11:10] an relative now when I move this
[11:13] it's keeping everything the same and
[11:15] it's sticking kind of I don't know if
[11:17] you guys are familiar with the Elgato
[11:18] software but they have a they have a
[11:19] feature like that it's like a little
[11:20] link
[11:21] at the top and you click it and I'll
[11:23] lock these in place
[11:25] so now these are all moving relative
[11:29] um I don't know if they'll maybe come
[11:30] out with something where these will
[11:32] stick at like zero that'd be kind of
[11:34] cool
[11:36] um but yeah and then to get these back
[11:39] to all normal I'll do abs link no
[11:41] they're all back to normal
[11:43] so you probably leave it on abs for the
[11:45] most of the time just so then you're not
[11:46] moving a bunch of stuff around
[11:48] um
[11:50] but yeah so that's what that does so
[11:53] that's that's a sub mixing is different
[11:54] now with this
[11:57] whole stream review thing it's really
[11:58] cool actually
[12:01] okay so I just tested this a little bit
[12:03] uh I was looking to figure out what
[12:05] these were doing
[12:06] um basically they're just mutes so if I
[12:07] press mute here
[12:09] uh it will mute it it will mute that
[12:11] just like it's an indicator it's muted
[12:13] but um it looks to be like a bug right
[12:16] now
[12:17] um if I
[12:20] mute it from here
[12:22] doesn't mute it here
[12:24] it's obviously Spotify column so a
[12:27] little bug at the moment but it's to be
[12:29] expected it's just a beta type thing so
[12:32] it'll probably be worked out in the
[12:34] final product but it does mute if you
[12:36] mute it from
[12:37] voice meter itself it tells it's muted
[12:40] here but this has no connection to the
[12:42] voicemaker at the moment
[12:44] um
[12:47] think that's about it I mean we got the
[12:50] monitor feature here which is basically
[12:52] just submixing using the original
[12:55] SEL
[12:57] um
[12:58] a little bit faster for like using it on
[13:00] your output buses
[13:01] instead of clicking this I guess since
[13:03] you'll have this open if you're in
[13:05] stream review
[13:07] I'll probably just kind of roll with
[13:08] this thing and choose your size and all
[13:10] that stuff
[13:12] um
[13:14] but yeah I believe that is it to explain
[13:18] about what it does
[13:20] um
[13:21] and we'll see if they add more stuff in
[13:23] the uh the full version at the endoc end
[13:26] of October I believe
[13:29] yeah
[13:30] uh everything will be linked down below
[13:32] um as to where you can download this the
[13:34] new potato that is I'll also link
[13:37] um the music I was playing it's all
[13:39] copyright free stuff
[13:40] um
[13:43] yeah and I'll also throw a link to the
[13:45] uh voice meter Discord where you can
[13:47] find me or a lot of other people that
[13:49] are willing to help
[13:51] um with uh your issues and stuff so yeah
[13:55] have a good rest your day and thanks for
[13:57] watching
