13:34[00:01] that content creators can't wait to have some of them will even go to the sponsorships hey guys guy level here and today we are going to be talking about sponsorships sponsors sponsorships sponsored content
[00:14] and all that the goal here is to let you know about what is a sponsor you know a sponsorship and what is not to tell you about my own experience for my sponsored content and hopefully give you valuable tips on
[00:26] sponsors count how many times i'm gonna be saying sponsor this video now that being said what if i told you that this very video that you're watching right now is actually sponsored by owned owned as
[00:38] customizable that a youtuber or live streamer will need they got you some of the packs even include psd files that you can really customize to your liking you want separate assets such as
[00:51] offline images webcam overlays stinger transitions alert designs and alert they got you you want to create custom emotes spend two minutes making a character that looks like you and then let own generate the rest i
[01:04] badges they got you with their custom sub badge anything that's fine they also have pre-made that graphics for twitch channel points and rewards
[01:17] they got you you want bid badges they got you you want to make a dope profile they got an avatar maker and a gaming logo maker custom youtube intro they have a channel trailer maker no
[01:31] at all oh so you want a youtube banner too they got you do but i'll let you figure it out by going to own dot gg slash gal level that is o w n 3 d dot gg slash gal level
[01:46] that was probably the smoothest sponsor transition i've ever done anyways let's talk about sponsors what is a sponsorship or a sponsored content a sponsored creator now the definition will vary depending on who you're asking
[01:59] say that a sponsorship is basically when a company pays a creator in order to showcase their product or it is usually used for advertisement purposes so basically a company will be
[02:12] our product or services to your audience because they are more likely to use that product or service if it's coming from your mouth you're a influence them they love you they might actually try it
[02:27] advice but in general it is pretty much illegal to to say a message or to advertise something without disclosing it this is this video for example will probably have something that says
[02:41] video is sponsored by own they paid me to say the things that i said so it's an included promotion that being content on youtube where you will not see that little thing
[02:54] accordance with the law but sometimes the creators forget or they don't feel they don't want anything to be misconstructed because the sponsor can for a whole video or it can just pay for an ad in my case
[03:08] if there's an ad in my video i'm putting the little included paid promotion thing which means that in this particular case owned paid for this spot they didn't pay for me to make this video
[03:20] about sponsors no now here's where the lines get a little blurry for example i do tech reviews so companies send me tech but they don't pay me to do those tech reviews shouldn't be like a paid thing it
[03:34] shouldn't be i mean it can be endorsed but if you want me to advertise it you pay me and i advertise it i'm not gonna pretend that i'm doing an the controversy starts when you start
[03:46] biased because you receive the product for free i personally believe yes i know that i recommend some products to people but i saving up money for buying those products so this part of the transaction
[04:00] opinion on the product it was just there when i reviewed it that being said since they don't pay me to do those tech reviews i get to say whatever i want about the product of course i'm gonna be honest if there's
[04:13] a very very bad downside to the product i need to tell positive because i don't want to deal with this is gold what i make sure to say in those product reviews is who i believe
[04:26] the product is for who can afford this and why you should pay for that product at the specific stage in your career for example anyway so that was an example of sponsorships because there was no exchange of money
[04:40] comes to what is being said about the product or lines some companies will try their best to kind of confuse young or or beginner creators into
[04:54] thinking that they are sponsoring them when in fact they are just like an affiliate so an affiliate is you getting a special not necessarily promo code but a special link that the company can track
[05:07] something but you're getting a cut of every single sale you're getting a percentage now a lot of content creators actually use this including myself i am uh if you go in the links in the description you will find my a list of
[05:22] and if you buy from those links i'm actually getting a tiny little from every single sale i am an affiliate with uh streamlabs prime for example i'm an affiliate with placeit.net and also an affiliate with owned
[05:36] the thing with the affiliate programs is that they are open to everyone so anyone rules and the same laws apply to disclosing your partnership telling people that you're affiliated every time you share an affiliate link
[05:49] every time you share an affiliate link but it is way less monitored and also mindset of the more product they sell from that company the more money they also make and that is during a time period that is
[06:03] they have this incentive of promoting this product or service so that while they're not directly being paid or services they have an incentive to do so when it
[06:18] of live streamers say sponsors and then you can recognize a lot of companies that are doing this affiliate thing and also calling it sponsorships when in fact it's just an
[06:30] affiliate link that they give you even i fell for that trap when i first started gaming related companies uh companies that sell like grips for example there's a lot of supplements that are targeted towards gamers that
[06:44] there's coffee there's chairs there's so many of those companies that kind of sell you on that promise that hey advertise us for free and you will make a lot of money the more people
[06:56] money you will make but the truth is you're advertising for free that you don't even use so you can't test the quality and this is where this moral spiral goes down now let's talk about the lowest of the low
[07:11] and it is something that i've seen in the streamer community because i do a pm cet on my twitch channel where i review i would see some sponsored banners that are not real sponsors and sometimes
[07:25] from very very very shady companies and some of them are pop-up companies so there are companies that will pop up get a like a crappy website up get bots going on social media asking people to be their brand ambassadors or
[07:38] will either ask you to buy a single product before you can start promoting their product for free which is insane their affiliate link and say hey you're a brand ambassador now you can advertise
[07:52] and they mostly target small accounts because they have a limit on how much can sell before they pay you they might tell you hey your account needs a like a hundred dollars before we can actually pay you but they know that
[08:06] based off of your following most likely you will never reach that hundred usually they're selling a product that is so so overpriced that they are making such a margin that they don't
[08:20] hundred dollar personally when it comes to like those clothing companies that are aimed at gamers those shady unknown i've never met anyone who actually got paid from those
[08:35] because you're doing the advertising you're not making any money because your following and your lack of influence so in your should we call this a scam of your answer in the comments
[08:49] the thing is they are using bots usually you will post a picture on instagram or hey dm this account because they don't want spamming so they use alternate bot accounts to bring you to
[09:02] the other account it is insane so at the end the more victims their company meaning they get amazing advertisement for absolutely zero dollars just get a bunch of bots
[09:16] to tell the dm and sometimes you know you try to ask for your money and it i've seen some people not even have an affiliate link they would just link the website and
[09:29] it feels bad it feels so bad it feels so bad get seeing small streamers get taken i'm supposed to give you tips on actually gonna be the thing that you usually do not like to hear
[09:41] not like to hear and um i'm sorry it is hard work it is hard work and dedication this is the first thing you're not gonna get okay now basically this is how i got to the point where my emails are filled
[09:53] opportunities of course you want to be a content creator you want to be a content and you want to grow an audience duh because the whole goal of sponsorships is we pay you to advertise to your audience and it needs to be
[10:07] for the company the money needs to be worth the advertisement the advantage with working with influencers content creators for example on youtube stays on youtube pretty much forever as long as youtube keeps it up and it's
[10:20] like a giant digital billboard that can reach like creator which is something that is so hard to achieve if you're going with typical advertisement we skip ads on youtube
[10:32] has more influence than typical advertisement we don't oh these trying times we reach out to you influencer is like hey i'm drinking a can of coke right now
[10:48] lot of coke zero that's the goal so the first step is going to be find a specific niche now this is the niche part is really really really really really what's gonna allow you to get those sponsorships
[11:02] being a variety streamer is fine being a variety youtuber is needs to put you in a category they just can't help it but also you related to what you do companies need to have an
[11:17] idea of what target audience you have in my case it's gamers live streamers content creators in general and of course a mix of sponsored by own because that is also their target audience i also worked with
[11:33] uncanny.gg that is also their audience their service is directly twitch live streamers i worked with adobe when they were promoting adobe because they had this new section that was made for live streamers
[11:46] same thing with place it same thing with pretty much all the sponsored content are about something that i believe my target audience would be finding a niche and making content for that specific niche is not just
[12:00] enough you need to be the guy for that niche you need to make it the companies that are targeting that audience uh not first of all you need to make it so that it's impossible for the audience not to
[12:15] because they will be interested in your content because you will be such a content because you will be such a voice in that specific niche in my case giving advice to live streamers giving tutorials uh having the stream review
[12:27] uh tech reviews and it's mostly tech reviews that have to do with live streaming you know mic reviews uh headset reviews can use and then specific tech tutorials for like stream labs
[12:39] obs studio and stuff like that that i know that live streamers use i try to be very present on social media so i'm on twitter i'm on instagram i'm on tik tok i used to be on facebook so i not only keep up with my community there
[12:51] are the same people that follow me but i also try to keep it matching my talking about live streaming live streamers tips for live streaming gaming content creation on instagram i
[13:05] get the point on tick tock i also post live streaming tips but that is the general idea i'm sorry this is not like a super shortcut video hey how to get while you have 10 followers if a company contacts you while you have 10 followers
[13:20] all ask yourself why ask yourself what you what is the use of it what you can you provide to this company uh and and definitely ask to get paid in advance because
[13:34] right i actually have a whole playlist on how you can grow your audience in on twitch for example personally i started getting like emails once i reach 10 000 subscribers
[13:49] on youtube uh i think roberto blake was talking about that and he was saying you're gonna start getting those sponsorships at this point and i thought that that can't be such magical number but for me that was a hundred percent
[14:01] the case as soon as i hit 10k my email uh my inbox was filled and something you may not know is that i actually spend my saying no or just ignoring some emails because you're gonna get
[14:13] sponsorship offers from everyone and anyone agree with shady companies and all of that so saying no is what i i only really really select a few companies to accept
[14:27] to do like a paid collaboration with them because i don't want to have a relationship with a company where i really think that their product sucks it's great even if i'm paid to do so or maybe a company just hasn't paid me well
[14:40] another type of sponsorship that i didn't mention is the global sponsorship where they're like they own you you're not allowed to get any other sponsorship but they're paying you a hefty price in order to keep you
[14:53] uh exclusively basically i do not have i've had many offers but i do not have that type of sponsorship so i can really tell you sponsorship so i can really tell you how to get it or or how to manage it
[15:05] personally i believe that the whole dream of being a content creator is because of the freedom i want to be free to do whatever i want whenever i want and not have a contract that prevents me from doing that so
[15:17] of contract and of course yeah apparently no companies want to want to pay me enough for my exclusivity so yeah the huge tip here is grow a specific audience grow an audience
[15:29] that you can describe to a company well you won't have to they will most likely have the same target audience but you should be able to know exactly the typical viewer that you have as a
[15:43] live streamer as a youtuber etc on youtube it's kind of easier because you just have to put out content for a specific type of people if you're a variety streamer you will not be known
[15:55] as the grand theft auto person or the destiny 2 person the tip stays the same grow an audience and in that case the audience will be gamers and and viewers basically is just
[16:10] that point you as a live streamer would have to actually reach out via social media or just interacting i tweet and then they got sponsored
[16:22] i just reacted to a tweet i just like commented on the tweet and then in my dms the company was like hey can we send you a care package got stuff for free just by
[16:34] social media is really important basically but yeah i'ma stop rambling now if you guys have any questions if i missed some things i probably did them in a comment section below if
[16:48] make your channel look good go to gumroad.com get level a lot of them are free and the rest is very very ultra affordable something way more in my videos is that i twit i twitch on stream i twitch once
[17:01] i stream on twitch um for some reason a lot of people join my twitch streams and i'm not on youtube just giving advice on twitch stream without ever streaming i streams at twitch.tv get level this is the part
[17:15] think you should watch next and at the bottom of it you will see my most recent streaming and uh creating content in general and i so much for watching this video go out there make me proud get level
[17:29] go out there make me proud get level out
