In this video, VTuber Senpai shares four practical tips to help low-spec PC users improve VTubing performance and stream smoothly. The tips focus on reducing CPU and GPU load by tweaking settings in VTuber apps, OBS, and games. The video is short, to the point, and aimed at beginner VTubers struggling with lag.
Creating desktop shortcuts for VTube Studio, VBridger, and VSeeFace's 'Start without Steam' option saves roughly 5% of CPU and RAM resources that Steam would otherwise consume.
Change the application's FPS from 60 to 30 and resolution from 1920x1080 to 720p. This reduces video card resource usage, leaving more headroom for your games.
In OBS, set the output scaled resolution to 720p and the common FPS value to 30. This can lower CPU usage by 5–10% depending on the codec, and viewers prefer a smooth stream over ultra-high resolution.
Capping the game at 60 FPS (instead of max) and reducing in-game quality/resolution opens up significant headroom on your video card, which is especially helpful for lower-end GPUs.
Approximately how much CPU/RAM can you save by launching VTuber apps without Steam?
About 5% of computer resources (CPU and RAM).
01:00
What FPS and resolution does the creator recommend for 3D VTuber applications on a low-spec PC?
Set FPS to 30 and resolution to 720p.
01:29
What OBS settings can reduce CPU usage by 5–10%?
Change output scaled resolution to 720p and common FPS value to 30.
02:11
Why is 60 FPS a good cap for games when VTubing on a low-end PC?
It opens up a lot of headroom on your video card, reducing lag while streaming.

Who is the creator in this video, and when does he stream?
VTuber Senpai, who streams every Friday at 5:00 PM PST on YouTube.

Bypassing Steam saves resources
A simple, rarely mentioned trick that lets low-spec users reclaim 5% of CPU/RAM without any quality loss.
01:00Lower resolution reduces video card load
Shows a concrete setting change (1080p to 720p) that directly impacts GPU headroom.
01:43OBS resolution affects CPU usage by 5-10%
Gives a quantifiable performance benefit from a simple OBS tweak, helping viewers prioritize settings.
02:25Capping game FPS creates headroom
Turns a common misconception (max FPS is always better) into a practical optimization for streamers.
02:52[00:02] out don't really have a high-spec PC, and sometimes gaming with a PC that doesn't have really the best specs can cause a hindrance on your streams. So, in today's video, I'm going to give you some tips and tricks to help out with
[00:15] that performance. Oh, and if you haven't already, make sure you hit the like and subscribe button and help me reach my goal of 100,000 YouTube subscribers by the end of 2026. My first tip is launching V Studio, VB
[00:30] Bridger, and VC Face without Steam. To accomplish this, all we got to do is have our Steam open. Make sure we're in the library tab, right click on our application of choice, go down to properties, go to installed files, click
[00:43] properties, go to installed files, click on browse, then we can rightclick on start without Steam, click on show more options, send to great shortcut for the desktop. By doing this and not having Steam open, we could actually save 5% of
[01:00] Steam open, we could actually save 5% of our computer resources, CPU and RAM. And double click on those icons that we just made on our desktop. And wham, bam, you're loading without Steam. My next tip is lowering your FPS rate on your V
[01:16] Studio VC face or other 3D Vtubing application. With our application of choice open, we're just going to go to the settings really quick. Click on the camera icon. We are going to scroll down just probably a little bit halfway.
[01:29] Quality and effects. We are going to change the application from 60 fps to 30. And then we're going to lower the resolution from 1920x 1080 to something like 720p. By doing that, we actually use less video card resources, leaving
[01:43] more headroom for your video games. My next tip is to change some of your OBS settings. With our OBS open, all we want to do is hit the little settings button, go down to
[01:57] video, and then output scaled resolution. We want to change that down to 720p. And then common FPS value down to 30 fps. Many of us think that we must have the absolute highest resolution
[02:11] possible, and that's really not the case. A lot of viewers will look right past that and would honestly rather have a better viewing experience than a laggy one. And by changing that resolution, depending on the codec you're using, you
[02:25] depending on the codec you're using, you can lower your CPU usage five to even 10%. Lowering your game's FPS. A lot of us think that we need to have the absolute maximum FPS when we're playing video games, and maybe on a
[02:39] professional level, that is definitely true. But as brand new entrylevel true. But as brand new entrylevel VTubers, just cap that FPS to maybe 60 fps and that will actually open up a lot of headroom on your video card. Also,
[02:52] lowering the in-game settings of quality, resolution, all that can really make a big difference, especially if you're struggling with a lower-end video card. Of course, everything I've said in this video will vary from person to
[03:06] person since not all of us have the same PC. Let me know in the comments down below some of your tips and suggestions that we can give to brand new VTubers that really don't have the high-end specs. Again, I'm your VTuber, Senpai. I
[03:21] stream here on YouTube every Friday, 5:00 p. p.m. Pacific Standard Time, and 5:00 p. p.m. Pacific Standard Time, and I try to upload here every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. PST. So, come on by, say hi, and well, I'll catch you all in the next
[03:34] and well, I'll catch you all in the next one. Bye.
