AI Summary

YouTube's latest algorithm update introduces key changes to boost views and subscribers. The video outlines six critical adjustments, including new thumbnail and title statistics, AI disclosure requirements, a multi-channel strategy, integrating YouTube with Claude AI via VidIQ, and optimizing content length and topic selection for maximum reach.

[0:35]
Thumbnail and Title Best Practices

Face presence in thumbnails doubles clicks; real photos outperform illustrations. First- and second-person titles (you/your, I/my/we) lift views by 100% and 106%. Yellow thumbnails reduce views by 5%, green increases by 10%. Ideal video length: 12-20 minutes; hook: 27-45 seconds. 96% of top videos have a CTA in first 10%; three CTAs on average. Strategic capitals in titles give 52% lift.

[2:37]
AI Content Disclosure Changes

YouTube simplifies AI disclosures with clearer labels on videos and automatic AI detection (starting May 2026). Creators must disclose AI-generated content (e.g., AI avatars, altered footage) or risk demonetization or channel ban. The system will automatically detect undisclosed AI.

[5:26]
Multi-Channel Strategy

Running 2-3 YouTube channels, each with a different content cadence (e.g., one channel for frequent shorts and weekly long-form, another for frequent long-form and few shorts), helps flood the niche, improve search ranking, and increase subscribers and business opportunities.

[7:47]
YouTube-Claude Integration via VidIQ

Connecting YouTube to Claude using VidIQ's MCP allows automated tasks like daily trending topic analysis, channel performance review, and script generation based on what's working. This saves time and provides data-driven content strategies.

[11:10]
Three Pillars for Viral Content

Perfect alignment of packaging (title/thumbnail), content length (based on competitor analysis), and topic (highest views per hour) is essential. Getting all three right increases chances of virality. Use YouTube Analytics and VidIQ to determine optimal length and trending topics.

To succeed with YouTube's algorithm update, creators must adopt data-driven thumbnail and title strategies, properly disclose AI content, leverage multiple channels, integrate AI tools like Claude via VidIQ, and align packaging, length, and topic for maximum reach.

[00:00] YouTube just released a brand new

[00:01] algorithm update that makes it easier

[00:03] than ever before to get views, get

[00:04] subscribers, and ultimately get

[00:05] monetized on YouTube so long as you make

[00:07] the six changes I share with you in this

[00:09] video because they've completely changed

[00:11] what kind of content you should be

[00:12] creating, how you should be using AI,

[00:14] and they've released a bunch of new

[00:15] settings that you need to make sure

[00:17] you're disclosing the right things in

[00:18] your content, otherwise, they could end

[00:20] up banning your channel. So, let's dive

[00:22] into all of it. Change number one is a

[00:24] bunch of new statistics just came out

[00:26] about what you should be including in

[00:28] your thumbnails and you're going to find

[00:29] this incredibly interesting. Okay, so

[00:32] there are 10 different notes and changes

[00:33] that you need to be aware of. The first

[00:35] one is that face presence, aka having a

[00:37] face in your thumbnails, is going to

[00:39] drive twice as many clicks versus not

[00:42] having a face in your thumbnails. This

[00:44] applies both for long-form content and

[00:46] for shorts content. The second thing

[00:48] that you're going to notice is that real

[00:49] thumbnail photos outperform

[00:51] illustrations. So, if you use an

[00:52] illustration like what's on the left

[00:54] right here versus actually having a

[00:56] person here, guess what? The actual

[00:57] person on the right-hand side is going

[00:59] to drive more clicks. Also, even if that

[01:01] person is going to be AI-generated or an

[01:04] AI version of you. The third thing that

[01:06] we're going to find is actually coming

[01:07] with the title. So, second and

[01:09] first-person titles, for example,

[01:11] you/your, that will actually give you a

[01:13] 100% lift in how many views you get and

[01:15] first-person titles like I/my/we give

[01:18] you a 106% lift. So, you want to make

[01:20] sure that you have those inside of your

[01:22] titles. In addition to that, putting the

[01:24] year in your title is actually going to

[01:26] deboost your video. It's going to get

[01:28] 40% less views unless you're posting it

[01:31] November to February 4 that upcoming

[01:33] year. So, in November, in December,

[01:35] January, and February, you want to post

[01:38] about the upcoming year. For example, if

[01:40] it was November 2025, you'd want to post

[01:42] about 2026. Otherwise, it's going to

[01:45] decrease your reach. In addition to

[01:46] that, yellow is the worst performing

[01:48] thumbnail color, lowers your views by

[01:50] 5%. I'm talking about literally the

[01:52] entire thumbnail being yellow. Green is

[01:54] the best performing thumbnail color,

[01:56] it's going to increase your views by

[01:58] 10%. The ideal video duration right now

[02:00] if you're uploading long-form content is

[02:02] going to be 12 to 20 minutes. Ideally,

[02:04] your hook length should be 27 to 45

[02:07] seconds. 96% of top-performing videos

[02:10] put a call to action in the first 10% of

[02:12] the video. In fact, the top-performing

[02:14] videos on YouTube right now have three

[02:16] calls to actions in them. And then

[02:17] finally, strategic capitals in your

[02:19] title is going to give you a 52% lift.

[02:22] That looks like this where how this

[02:24] title gets more clicks, this and more in

[02:27] all caps. This is going to increase your

[02:29] views by 50%. You want to make sure that

[02:31] you're using these 10 principles right

[02:33] now on YouTube to help increase your

[02:35] reach. Change number two is that YouTube

[02:37] is now completely changed how they're

[02:39] actually handling AI content. You want

[02:41] to make sure that you don't skip this

[02:42] part because this literally could get

[02:43] you banned or demonetized even if you're

[02:46] not using AI. So, these changes right

[02:48] here come actually directly from

[02:50] YouTube. So, the first one is that they

[02:52] are making new AI disclosures simpler

[02:54] for creators and clearer for viewers.

[02:57] So, right now, the way that this

[02:58] essentially works is you have to

[02:59] disclose whether or not your video's AI

[03:01] generated. And like 99% of YouTubers

[03:03] that I talk to don't even realize this

[03:05] exists. For example, if we come over to

[03:07] my AI channel, this most viewed video

[03:09] has over 600,000 views. If we actually

[03:12] come into the details of this video, I

[03:14] did disclose that this was actually AI

[03:16] generated cuz this video's about HeyGen

[03:18] and how to create AI avatars. If we come

[03:21] down here, we can see that under more

[03:23] details right here, AI in use, I put yes

[03:26] because this video does make a real

[03:28] person appear to say or do something

[03:30] they didn't do because I cloned myself.

[03:32] It alters footage of a real event or

[03:34] place or generates a realistic-looking

[03:36] scene that didn't actually occur. But

[03:38] like I said, YouTube is now making this

[03:40] easier. So, labels for realistic

[03:41] AI-generated content are now going to

[03:43] appear on the actual video itself both

[03:46] for long-form content and for videos.

[03:47] This is basically just going to be

[03:49] better disclosure to the viewer of,

[03:51] "Hey, this is AI generated. In addition

[03:53] to that, they're introducing automatic

[03:55] AI detection to help creators label

[03:57] their AI content more effectively.

[03:59] Essentially, the way that this is going

[04:00] to work is when you upload a video right

[04:02] now on YouTube, it goes through a checks

[04:04] process in order to see if it can be

[04:06] monetized. It makes sure that you don't

[04:08] have anything that is actually against

[04:10] any monetization rules or things like

[04:12] that on YouTube. Well, now they're also

[04:14] going to be doing this for AI. In

[04:15] addition to that, they're going to be

[04:16] giving channels 18+ access to their

[04:20] likeness detection technology to help

[04:22] them spot AI deepfakes of themself.

[04:24] Doesn't matter how many subscribers you

[04:26] have, if you're monetizing or if you

[04:27] posted a video yet, everybody's going to

[04:29] actually get it. And then here's what

[04:30] these things are actually going to look

[04:32] like on YouTube's UI. So, this right

[04:35] here is what the label is going to look

[04:36] like on a short. You're going to see AI

[04:38] in the bottom left-hand corner. In

[04:40] addition to that, we are also going to

[04:42] see the same exact thing with this

[04:43] introducing automatic detection. So,

[04:45] this will now in May 2026, which

[04:47] obviously is this month, this is now

[04:49] going to go through and automatically

[04:51] detect whether or not you're actually

[04:52] using AI and whether or not you should

[04:54] be disclosing this. In addition to that,

[04:56] we're going to see right here that you

[04:58] can still go through and manually check

[05:00] it no. But, one thing I would be hyper

[05:02] aware of is if you lie to YouTube about

[05:04] this, you're going to get demonetized,

[05:06] you're going to get your channel banned.

[05:07] If you don't believe me, look up on

[05:08] Reddit people getting their channel

[05:10] banned because of AI detection. People

[05:11] are getting banned like crazy. That

[05:13] could be an AI voice, that could be an

[05:15] AI avatar, it could be creating

[05:16] something with AI as part of the video.

[05:19] If it's an image or video that's being

[05:21] shown and it's AI generated, I would

[05:22] make sure that you're definitely

[05:24] disclosing this. Change number three is

[05:26] I would strongly urge you right now if

[05:28] you have a growing YouTube channel to

[05:29] open up a second and a third YouTube

[05:31] channel because this strategy is

[05:34] crushing it right now for so many

[05:35] people. Let me show you an example.

[05:37] Okay, so a perfect example of this is

[05:39] going to be what Alex Hormozi right here

[05:41] is doing. So, we could see that he has

[05:42] his main Hormozi channel. If we come

[05:44] under videos right here, we could see

[05:46] that he posts once a week on long-form

[05:48] content on this channel. If we come over

[05:50] to shorts, the last time I checked this,

[05:52] he was posting about eight shorts a day.

[05:54] Let's see if that is still true. So, we

[05:56] could see right here, 2 days ago, we see

[05:58] 1 2. We come down here, we have three.

[06:02] So, it looks like he's posting around

[06:03] three a day right now. Actually, we have

[06:05] 3 days, 1 2 3 4 5 6. It looks like six.

[06:09] So, he's posting anywhere from like

[06:11] three to eight times a day on YouTube

[06:13] shorts on this channel. With long-form

[06:16] content, he's only posting once a week.

[06:17] But, if we actually come over to his

[06:19] home page, then we actually scroll down

[06:21] here, we're going to see other channels

[06:23] that he has. So, like this More Mosey

[06:25] channel right here. If we come over here

[06:27] and look at videos right here, what

[06:29] we're going to find is that he's posting

[06:31] a ton on here. If we just look at 14

[06:34] hours ago, he posted four times. 20

[06:37] hours ago, he posted three more times.

[06:39] So, in the last 24 hours, he's posted

[06:41] seven long-form videos on this channel.

[06:44] But, what we'll also see is that he's

[06:45] actually not posting any shorts over

[06:48] here. So, essentially, what he's doing

[06:49] is he's now using multiple channels. On

[06:51] one of them, he posts low content in

[06:54] terms of volume, long-form, and a ton of

[06:57] shorts every day. On the other one, he's

[06:59] posting a ton of long-form and barely

[07:01] any shorts. And that's the strategy that

[07:04] you should also be implementing if you

[07:05] want to maximize the amount of content

[07:07] that you are currently putting out. You

[07:08] should have two to three channels. They

[07:10] should each be focused on different

[07:11] types of content, but they should all be

[07:13] posting every type of content. You just

[07:16] want to make sure that the cadence is

[07:17] going to be broken up appropriately. And

[07:19] essentially, what this allows you to do

[07:21] is flood the zone with things in your

[07:23] niche. You'll be able to rank for search

[07:24] way much better. You'll be able to

[07:26] actually put out trending videos way

[07:28] better. And this also allows you to

[07:30] actually take a step back and not have

[07:32] to edit or produce your content as much

[07:34] in order to get as much content out. And

[07:36] this right here will increase the amount

[07:38] of subscribers you get, the views you

[07:39] get. And this right here significantly

[07:42] increases the amount of business that

[07:43] you can actually generate and strum up

[07:45] on YouTube. Now that next thing you need

[07:47] to make sure you're doing is you need to

[07:48] make sure that you are hooking up

[07:50] YouTube to Claude. If you aren't using

[07:53] this AI workflow that I'm about to share

[07:54] with you, you're at a serious

[07:56] disadvantage. You're going to spend way

[07:57] too much time creating content. You're

[07:59] not going to be getting the results that

[08:00] you want when literally AI could be

[08:02] doing most of the work for you and I'm

[08:04] going to share with you the exact

[08:05] prompts that I use to automate my

[08:06] channel. So when you actually have

[08:08] YouTube hooked up to Claude, you're

[08:10] going to be able to do some pretty crazy

[08:12] things. For example, you'll be able to

[08:13] come over here every morning and say

[08:15] something like, "What topics are

[08:18] trending in my niche? Please list them

[08:22] out by VPH

[08:24] and let me know what I should upload

[08:28] about today." Now what this is going to

[08:30] do is this is not just going to use

[08:32] Claude or ChatGPT or Gemini. It is

[08:34] actually going to scan YouTube and

[08:36] access YouTube's data in order to

[08:38] actually give us an answer right here.

[08:40] We can see that this is actually loading

[08:41] up tools in order to be able to do this

[08:43] right here, which is pretty awesome.

[08:45] This is now using VidIQ. It's going

[08:47] through all the different trending

[08:48] videos. It's thinking through all this

[08:49] and this is actually going to give us a

[08:51] really good strategy right here, which

[08:54] is pretty cool. Now guess what? If we

[08:56] actually had this set up in Claude

[08:57] Co-work, we could schedule this out as a

[08:59] task so that this happens every single

[09:01] morning without us actually prompting

[09:03] this. And this isn't the only thing that

[09:05] you could do here. If we open up another

[09:06] chat, we could say something like, "Go

[09:09] through my last [snorts] seven uploads

[09:12] on my YouTube channel.

[09:14] Let me know what I can improve

[09:18] in my content and in my packaging." Now

[09:21] what this is going to do, and again, you

[09:23] could set this up to happen every single

[09:24] week, it's going to go through all of

[09:26] your content and actually tell you,

[09:28] "Hey, this is what you should have done

[09:30] differently." And look at this. It's

[09:31] literally pulling my channel's recent

[09:33] uploads. It's analyzing them. It's going

[09:35] to watch the videos. It's going to look

[09:37] at the thumbnails. It's going to look at

[09:38] the titles. It's going to look at the

[09:40] script. It's going to look at the

[09:41] analytics and it is going to give me

[09:43] actionable advice. Now, if we come back

[09:45] over into here, we can see right here

[09:47] that this went through and actually

[09:48] pulled all these different trending

[09:50] topics right here in my niche, shows us

[09:53] the actual views per hour, the video,

[09:55] the channel subscribers, how much of a

[09:57] breakout video it is, and these are a

[09:58] bunch of different things that I

[09:59] otherwise would not have found right

[10:01] here. Gives us the best themes right

[10:03] here. What they would upload today and

[10:05] what we could actually do is we could

[10:06] say, "Great, please script this

[10:10] out in my format." Then guess what this

[10:12] is going to do. This is now going to go

[10:14] through and this is going to script this

[10:16] out using the exact method that Claude

[10:19] knows I like to script my videos out

[10:21] with and it's going to do this

[10:23] incredibly quickly. And what's even

[10:24] cooler,

[10:25] it's actually going to base this off of

[10:27] what is actually working on YouTube

[10:29] because if you're working with AI, be it

[10:31] Claude, be it Gemini, be it ChatGPT, and

[10:34] it is not hooked up to YouTube and

[10:36] actually getting its advice or getting

[10:38] what you should do from YouTube, well

[10:40] then guess what? You're at a massive

[10:42] disadvantage. Now, the best part about

[10:43] this YouTube and Claude integration is

[10:45] that you can get started with it today

[10:47] using vidIQ's MCP. And if you go to the

[10:49] pin comment below, you can get started

[10:51] with it for only $1. This is an absolute

[10:53] no-brainer. It's immediately going to

[10:55] allow you to automate your YouTube

[10:56] channel and automate a lot of the

[10:58] tedious tasks that you are currently

[11:00] doing. So, what are you waiting for? Go

[11:01] to that pin comment below and get

[11:03] started with this today. It's going to

[11:04] help you get more views, get more

[11:05] subscribers, while spending way less

[11:07] time creating content. Now, change

[11:10] number five is you need to make sure

[11:11] that with your content, you have perfect

[11:13] alignment on three things because these

[11:15] three things are going to completely

[11:16] determine whether or not YouTube pushes

[11:18] out your content. It doesn't matter if

[11:20] you're going live, if you're uploading

[11:21] long-form content, or if you're posting

[11:23] shorts on YouTube, you need to make sure

[11:25] that one, your packaging is correct, aka

[11:28] your title and thumbnail stand out and

[11:29] somebody's going to want to click on it.

[11:31] Two, that the length of your content is

[11:33] correct, and yes, having just a few

[11:35] minutes or a few seconds off could

[11:36] actually destroy your reach, and then

[11:38] that third thing is you need to make

[11:39] sure that the topic that you were going

[11:41] after is the highest view per hour

[11:43] topic. If you get just one of these

[11:44] things right, you won't go viral. If you

[11:47] get two of them right, you won't go

[11:48] viral. If you get three of them right,

[11:50] then you have a chance of actually

[11:51] getting the views and virality that you

[11:54] deserve, but let me walk through exactly

[11:56] how you could figure each of these out.

[11:58] Okay, so when it comes to that first

[11:59] thing, which is going to be figuring out

[12:01] what length you should be creating your

[12:02] content, whether you're uploading

[12:04] long-form content or shorts, you want to

[12:05] come into your analytics, you want to

[12:07] click on trends, you want to type in

[12:08] whatever you're going to be posting

[12:09] about. For example, I'm posting a video

[12:11] today about Claude Opus 4.8 on this

[12:13] channel. So, I'm going to type in the

[12:15] topic of the video right here, and then

[12:17] this is going to allow us to search

[12:18] through long-form content and shorts

[12:21] content in order to figure out the best

[12:22] length in seconds. Because what we're

[12:24] going to be able to do is actually come

[12:26] over here, come under show all, we could

[12:28] see all videos, and we could see that

[12:30] these videos are predominantly anywhere

[12:33] from 12 minutes to 28 minutes right

[12:35] here. So, if I wanted to upload a video

[12:37] on this topic, ideally, I want it to be

[12:40] at the longer end of that spectrum.

[12:42] Because if not, what's going to end up

[12:44] happening is you aren't going to keep

[12:45] people on YouTube for a long enough

[12:47] period of time. In addition to that,

[12:48] this will actually show you what videos

[12:50] your video is going to show up against.

[12:52] So, we could see right here that my

[12:54] videos are going to show up against all

[12:55] these videos. So, when I craft my title

[12:58] or when I craft my thumbnail, I want to

[12:59] make sure that both my title and my

[13:01] thumbnail are better than these videos

[13:03] to make sure that I stand out amongst

[13:05] them, and I'm actually going to get

[13:06] clicks, and I'm actually going to get

[13:08] views. And then that views per hour

[13:10] metric is actually something you're

[13:11] going to be able to find on VidIQ that I

[13:13] was showing you earlier. So, again,

[13:15] let's say that we come over here, we

[13:16] type in Claude Opus 4.8, because that's

[13:19] what I'm going to be posting about. This

[13:21] will actually allow us to come over here

[13:22] and look at the videos and see which

[13:24] ones of them are getting the most views.

[13:26] This one's getting 1,100 views every

[13:28] single hour. This one's only getting 63.

[13:31] This one's getting 115. This one's

[13:33] getting 53. So, this will actually allow

[13:35] us to be able to see what our outlier

[13:38] videos, what our trending videos under

[13:40] here. And this will actually tell us

[13:42] that this is down this hour. This is up

[13:45] this hour. And this allows us to

[13:46] actually say, "Hey, this is what we

[13:49] should be creating." In addition to

[13:50] that, if we come under thumbnails right

[13:52] here, you're going to see all the

[13:53] different thumbnails that are performing

[13:55] well for this topic so that you could

[13:57] easily see what you need to stand out

[13:59] against. You could see all the channels

[14:01] that are posting about this. You could

[14:02] see all the different shorts that are

[14:04] posting about this. And if we come under

[14:06] keywords right here, we can actually see

[14:08] whether or not it's going up or down in

[14:10] search volume. And this is going to help

[14:12] you actually create a good video because

[14:14] you want to be focused on these three

[14:16] metrics to make sure that you're

[14:17] actually uploading something that

[14:19] YouTube's algorithm, one, wants to push

[14:21] out, two, that your audience cares

[14:23] about. And having these types of metrics

[14:25] on YouTube is just going to help you

[14:26] have a huge advantage over your other

[14:29] competitors that don't use stuff like

[14:31] this. Now, if you feel like you're

[14:33] shadowbanned on YouTube and you want to

[14:34] learn how you could fix it and what you

[14:36] could do to prevent it, I would strongly

[14:37] suggest you check out this video right

[14:39] here that walks you through how to

[14:40] identify whether or not you're

[14:41] shadowbanned on YouTube and what you can

[14:44] actually do in order to fix it. That

[14:46] sounds interesting. I'll see you over

[14:47] there.
